Im2 glad i saw this. Another video said remove the tensioner which i did but this is where i stopped and it is just what i thought, remove the compressor. Thank for the video, well done.
Thanks for the great video on my car infiniti i35 2003 so happened that the alternator goes out last week and I am starting to do the work but my pulles bolt not moving un inch compering to yours in the video ... wish it was like it
@@Tripps_ It wasn't a bad job. Mostly everything is done from under the front of the vehicle. The AC pump does have to be removed. The biggest pain is bolts that don't wanna come off. Otherwise, it's a straightforward job. I have an induction heat gun that I used to heat stuck bolts.
A mate has asked me to do this job on his Maxima. Thanks for this video. Nissan really buried the alternator deep.
This video has definitely helped show me how much work I have to do on my car. Thank you Jim.

disgruntled mechanic told me about you ..cool channel 👍
Wow, that alternator was buried. It's a good thing your a patient man.
My vision is clear, I see a new belt in the future 👍🏻
Nice video. This vehicle looks like a 2000-2001 3.0dek but the process is the same for 4th/5th generation Maxima's
Man it looked like that belt need changed! The vehcile will be back when belt goes and it will be your fault! haha! good one Jim.
Did the 2002 come with 3 0? I thought 2002 had a 3.5 like my 03..
Great video! How could they not want that belt replaced. Pay now or pay later as that will be towed back with that belt!
Good video jim

I have a maxima 02 n the tensioner didn't not loosen .. Turns out theres a lil bolt up top that loosens the pully
@@jhonatan7277 yes it is a two step .
1 ) the bolt on the puly .
2) the bolt on the top to lift it up .
Hey Jim, your really make knowledgeable videos , wondering where yor shop is located ?
I needed a quick video, on a ten minute break lol
yeah I gotta do this job 2mrrw, any ideas about a stripped tensioner bolt?
Hi Jim. I have an 2001 Infiniti i30 T 3.0l v6 what years does the alternator coincide with one another from beginning to end?
You will need to have a parts store look that up
@@jimthecarguy 👌
Is this the same as a 2002 infiniti i35?
yup

Thanks!
I'm 63, in my driveway, via the top and removal of radiator seems easier.
The close up of the exhaust looks like it has warts
So no need to remove the radiator as it states in the manual?
Yes no need to remove it. Thank you for watching . I'm happy to help. Don't forget to subscribe.
@@jimthecarguyOk, cool, big help watching this vid. Thanks so much. My alternator finally gave out at 159K
@@osos231 how did it turn out? I have a 2002 maxima and need to change the alternator so I’m thinking about doing this shortcut

@@osos231 but you was able to do all this without touching the radiator? Just the ac compressor and the ac pump ?
A/C is 14mm rarely if ever will you see 15 mm on an Asian car
2002 maxima was first year of the 3.5 liter you are showing a 3.0 so not a 2002
