I replaced mine on my 00 Tundra last year with moog. But I don't know what I could have done wrong but the boots on both ubj's are pretty much collapsed. I can grease then and they will fill back up and look like they're supposed to but within 2-3 days afterwards the boots will collapse again with grease oozing out. Could I have possibly over greased them when installing and messed up the boot seal or what???? any suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated. also I notice that both ubj's actually ride real close to the springs on fairly new Moog struts. Barely get a finger behind it. is that ok?OK? and my truck is completely stock with new 275 60 16 Coopers has anyone else had this problem
Those old craftsman screwdrivers are the best punch/chisels ever made.
Thanks for checking us out.
This video was so good for me I was using the tool all wrong to remove the ball joint. This video helped me do this much faster.
Glad this helped you out.
What year Toyota Tundra are you guys working on and what are you fixing?
05 Tundra - upper control arm. Thanks for the video, I watched incase I need to change this too.
Anyone know can the ball joint be replaced on the upper control arm? Or do you just have to replace the whole assembly???
We opted to change the entire upper control arm because it was no too bad to do.
@@HomeownerRepair yeah I get it ….
Just nervous about aftermarket like a moog or acdelco ,…,
It’s around $650 for a pair to get good ones …..
Replace the whole arm. Save a lot of headache and time. Toyota sells the whole thing as one piece.

Not sure what may be causing this to happen.
Use oem
Thanks good video
Glad you liked it
Did you have to use a special adapter kit? I'm looking to do this soon on my 2004 tundra!
We used a Harbor Freight ball joint press kit with different size adapters to choose from.
What size cup did you use mr?
I forget exact size. We test fitted the one in a kit Steve has.
What symptoms did you run into to make this repair?
The upper ball joint had failed and we noticed it was loose upon inspection.
