My no buy has cured my eyeshadow palette addiction too! I have been trying to pan a quad since September and realizing how much product is actually in eyeshadow made me realize my collection of... fifty... palettes (oh god I can't believe I admitted that... And I even keep trying to defend it in my head like "some are just wet n wild trios! That's not a full palette!") will last me a lifetime. I had even more but gave them away to friends who will show them more love and that made me happier than owning them did.
hah, yes, exactly! And the thing is, I don't WANT a collection that will last me the rest of my life. I want to be able to buy a new palette once in a while (like, maybe once every five years) when I come across something really special and exciting, and have things phase out or get used up at a similar rate. But I'd like it to be a kind of "one in, one out" situation, not a situation where I have to constantly declutter piles of things to clear the way for more piles. I'm glad you can identify with the shift in thinking, when I started blabbering about eyeshadow in the wings I was like "I wonder if this makes sense?? Oh well."
omg, i bought some palette organizers from the container store, laid them all out( I do have some quads and duos too) and was shocked to see how much I have. No more in 2019
You articulated so clearly why I am overwhelmed by my eyeshadow collection (which is a similar size to yours)! And yet I want to buy more-not because I lack certain shades so much as because I want to find the perfectly curated small collection of eyeshadow that will somehow simultaneously let me have variety and not overwhelm me with all those shades waiting in the wings (love that metaphor). I actually thought about this during your “letting go of perfectionism” video, because I devote so much mental energy to imagining my perfect collection. I resumed my no-buy 10 days ago, planning to continue until mid-August. I have a few wish lists but I can’t think of anything that I know I’ll buy. Like you, my desires change all the time. Your video has me thinking I should probably just delete those wish lists anyway. I’ve spent the last few weeks watching all your videos whenever I do my nails (which is often!). I’ve enjoyed them a lot, thank you for the excellent work that you’re doing!
yay, thanks for the update! At this point, my feeling about the desire for new things is "wait it out." If you wait it out, it almost always dissipates and doesn't turn into spending money/acquiring new things. But I figure if you wait several months or a year and you can't wait it out, that tells you something. So we'll see! And isn't it amazing that our desire for a perfectly curated small collection is part of what drive us to form a gigantic and unwieldy collection???
Love your videos! You’ve got me thinking about the way I consume makeup (but also in general). I went on a low buy thanks to you. It’ll turn into a no buy very soon ❤️ thanks again!!
I’m going through this playlist in 2022. Because in the winter of 2020/2021 I found myself buying more makeup than usual. I told myself it was an attempt to feel creative (which it was) but I also accumulated things I don’t actually like. I didn’t spend too much money but I bought 6 of those $3 elf quads and now i only want to use like a total of 4 shades across the palettes. Im considering to follow your inspiration and depot them into a small palette. The packaging is so small I talk myself out of the work of deporting but knowing I have excess feels like a burden.
Love your videos! I watch them whenever I need to be talked down from making an impulse purchase of an expensive colored powder that I probably have a million times over in my makeup collection. 😊
What you said about the eyeshadow palettes really hit home. Last year I decided to sell all my eyeshadow palettes and z palettes and create a a smaller curated collection. So I created a smaller curated collection with Natasha Denona and viseart palettes. I thought I’d be so happy, fulfilled and less stressed. But I’m actually overwhelmed now with them because it still feels like too much. I really only regularly use 1 of the 4 viseart palettes, and 3 of the ND palettes. It feels almost wasteful to have all those palettes that don’t get touched again once I purchased a new palette. Your videos are truly a gift and light bulb moments every time I watch!! Thank you for being such a genuine creator!
Wow, that's such an amazing story. This confirms my weird experience that the more I edit and constrain my collection, the larger it seems. I think I will really remember this comment for a long time. Thanks for sharing. I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos! xoxo!
Watched a couple of your vids so far and you come across as very genuine and passionate about the topic you’re discussing. I really like how you explain things in an in depth articulate manner. So different from what I’ve seen, subscribed!
I started a year nobuy with never seeing one of your videos. I came across one of your empties videos a couple of days ago. I was so thrilled to see another individual doing the same thing with very similar guidelines. It’s been very inspirational to hear your experience and thoughts on this topic:)
Thanks, Angela! when I started I had this crazy dream of maybe getting to 1,000 subscribers someday, and now it might actually happen??? I'm glad that so many people find it helpful and are in the same boat. xoxo!!
I was on a no buy for about 3 months earlier this year, and then my birthday month (April) came along and I "treated" myself to few things, and I kept on buying into May. However, watching your videos, especially how your thinking process helps you to stay on your no buy has encouraged me to go back to my no buy until Nov. My no buy categories are--skincare, hair-care, make up and clothes.
Yay, congratulations! I think it's really hard to get back on once you've broken a no-buy or low-buy, so that's a huge feat. I haven't talked much about clothes on my channel but that one is really hard for me. Good luck with the rest of the year! Thanks for commenting!!!
I just found your channel recently and have been obsessed! Your videos are so relevant to my life right now, Hannah. I, too, am addicted to the rush and glamour of skincare/makeup/beauty shopping. Ever since finding your videos, I'm planning my No Buy June, and hope to keep it going until the end of 2018. I also want to say that your blush is super cute in this video! Thank you for being an inspiration. :)
Aw, THANKS for saying you love the blush! I was a little self-conscious about it but in my heart I think it's the epitome of wearable editorial. And I"m so glad you are finding the videos relevant and helpful. Hurrah for no-buy June! Get your rules ready and you can share them on the June 1st upload! xoxoxo
It totally is! Don't be self-conscious, you look stunning! I love seeing your more unique looks that you put together, they are always so fun and somehow still wearable for everyday. Will totally share for that video; I'm super excited to be a part of this loving group!
I recently watched a variety of fashion documentaries and in all of them the Iconic Diana Vreeland always wears a gorgeous red blush with red lip - such a timeless/classic look!
Hi! I just discovered your amazing channel, so forgive me if you have already mentioned this. I had a personal color analysis done and exhibit A was one of my recommended blushes as a bright winter! I’m also very fair so haven’t had the guts to try it! You have inspired me to give it a try- you look gorgeous.
I'm not on a no-buy, but I echo quite a few things you mentioned. Like the eyeshadow palette, and the Sephora love lists. It's that exact mentality that let me cut down my love-list and also my collection by 50%. It allowed me to let go some of my luxury palettes that I simply wasn't using. Great video! Thoroughly enjoyed it.
It’s so sweet. My family knows your name. I listen to your videos like they are chapters to an audio book I’m listening to. My children now know your name as they liked how you sped your video when saying your name in the beginning 😀💕
I’m so glad that you brought up the fact that desires change over time. I try to wait a bit from the moment I want something to when I actually buy it. Not always good at this when I have money but I try.
Just found you in time! I'd already decided to look hard at my budget for 2019 but you've given me a much broader perspective. Thank you for the insights into a true no-buy commitment.👏
Totally inspired to do my own no buy! Going to try a month and see how much of my stash I can use up before I go back to college in September. This make up is stunning! ❤️
love your channel! I found your channel through reddit. I've been doing a makeup no-buy from the beginning of this year through my birthday in early june - I did break it for 2 brow pencils & a glitter, but I think they have a unique place in my collection, so I'm okay with those purchases. "if you forgot you wanted it, then you stopped wanting it" is SO TRUE & I need to remember that more! I keep a makeup wishlist on my phone & one on Sephora's loves lists, and I do go through them frequently to remove items. But at the end of the day, if I can't remember I want something, then it must not mean all that much to me!
yay, thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos! I'm hoping my no-buy will really help me to regulate and keep purchases down to things that are really unique, as you say. I like keeping lists, too, but I guess there's an up side and a down side to constantly reminding ourselves about the things we wanted?
I'm looking forward to it! It seems like that's one list item that will probably last the year...but I guess I can't be sure :) Thanks for commenting! xo
One of my favorite things about makeup is that it's so unique to everyone. For example you were talking about the blush brush and the white Wet n Wild one you showed is my holy grail! Before that I used a stipple foundation brush and it was okay-ish but it made me waste product because the bristles dug too hard into the powder. I thought it would be better for more pigmented blushes and diffuse them, but I was wrong haha.
The blush color looks pretty on you! That’s cute that you think your dad watched a video, no doubt, he is your biggest fan! I have to think about a wish list of specific makeup products... I have a Sephora gift card and hoping to hold it until the VIB sale!
Hah! My dad is very supportive but he doesn't understand makeup at all. He watched a tutorial and he was like "I'm so glad I don't have to do that." Holding your gift card till the VIB sale is such a good way to challenge yourself! I bet you can do it.
What about that shampoo you love? Great video! I have been living abroad for about 6 years now, and there's a really poor selection of products where I live, or they are really expensive, so I pretty much only buy stuff when I go back to the States to visit, which is about twice a year. So it pretty much forces me to make up these lists, and then I purchase everything in one go, knowing that that is all I will have for about 6 months to a year sometimes. It's nice in some ways because it forces me to be minimal, which I strive for anyway, and forces me to use things up. Also, since I can only bring back with me a limited amount of stuff, I have to be really choosy about what I buy, and I try not to buy more than what I will need to get me through the next 6 months. Anyway, I could go on and on, but I discovered your channel a couple days ago and have been binge watching your videos ever since. The funny thing is, I don't use makeup at all anymore, haven't for years, and my skincare is very simple and natural, mostly just oils. Yet, I still watch a few beauty UA-camrs. But I think it's less about the products that are recommended and more about either the advice/mindset that encourages minimalism or just owning what you love or sometimes it's just to confirm that even though I may still not be as minimal as I want, I'm doing so much better than most and I have no desire to acquire even more of this stuff. I've always had a hard time sticking to applying products. It's something that I don't enjoy. I just see it as a waste of time and unnecessary. I don't think we need these long routines of applying one thing after another. And not to mention money...how much money do I think I've spent in my life on products that in the long run, really haven't equated to anything in my life? It's just interesting to think about. Anyway, love your videos, and I'm curious to see what happens the rest of the year and next year as well. Just as I love whittling down my life, I love seeing others do it as well! It has been so freeing for me, I hope it is for you as well!
thanks for your comment! your situation sounds like an amazing way to whittle your collection and force you to be minimal. I'm definitely moving towards a sleeker collection and skincare routine as a result of this year.
Hey hannah! Re: blush brush, you want the bobbi brown blush brush. It's expensive, but AMAZING. Very soft bristles, very loosely packed but with a lot of bristles, and shaped EXACTLY like the brush you said you wanted one of a similar shape but bigger, and it's slightly bigger. It's cray.
I can’t wait to do this. I just panic bought some cool toned browns....I rarely wear browns. But I was like I could pair it with a red lip and stila Smoldering satin glitter. That’s why I pulled the trigger on a new pallet I’d been lusting after that wouldn’t be available ulta until 2019 and therefore could not buy.
I did some panic-buying at the end of 2017. Some of the things were good purchases that I've gotten a lot of use out of (primarily a few nice items of clothing). But the vast majority of them are regrets. I've already decluttered some of the things I panic-bought before the no-buy.
Love the blushing! Another blush junkie here. I want every color, but I surely don't need them all. Just maybe 2 more :) FYI-- LA Colors has a great little Brown mascara, for $1, available at Dollar Tree and other dollar stores. But my dream brown mascara is Chanel's in Ecorces (chestnut brown).
I've found that my "shotgun" desires usually fade within a couple of months. I think going forward I may plan to give myself at least a month with things I want but don't particularly want to spend the money on.
I'm an obsessive list maker and making lists of products I'm interested in sort of curbs the shopping cravings for me during my no-buy. I have dozens of these in the notes app of my phone, and it is so interesting to come across older versions. It's an indisputable evidence to me of how quickly my tastes change and how fickle I can be. But even the products that make it onto list after list aren't necessarily things that I should buy. For instance, I've had the vamp stamp (winged eyeliner stamp) and inkpot on my list for over a year. Do I still want it? Yes. Am I afraid I still won't do eyeliner? Also yes. Part of my no-buy is to become more self-aware of my actual follow-through, and the sad facts are that my eyes are hooded, and even the most expertly applied eyeliner would probably still not allow me to achieve the look I want.
I’m doing a replacement only buy like permanently, and I’ve been wanting the sweet peach palette since it came out. Gonna take a loooong time to finish my current palette tho. Park ave princess is on my bronzer list too
Man, I love the look of a lip like that, but having tried to use up all my lipsticks, I've learned that it's just not in the cards. A more retro coral is as wild as I can make myself get. Lash Paradise is also on my list. Because it's the best.
Ooooh I love coral lipstick. You might actually like Famous Red (the nars lippie I'm wearing here). It looks bright on camera but it's a really unusual color, almost pink. It seems like the kind of red that could work if retro coral works on you.
Girl let me just say since I’ve found your video yesterday... I’ve been hooked on watching you... not stalking your channel. Well that’s a good thing... 😂 my no buy year has begun but it’s from November to November... I’ll be doing one month check in’s but I can tell you that it’s already hard!
Thanks, Missy! Omg congratulations on your no-buy. I'm checking out your channel, it looks great! I'm excited to follow your journey. It's going to be a great year :)
Totally want to do a no buy! I’ve been terrible through this year. I had two real eyeshadow palettes last year.. at this very moment I have accumulated 13 MORE EYESHADOW PALETTES. So now I have 15 eyeshadow palettes and I’m inspired to not purchase any more for maybe a few years. I’ll start after my birthday.. no I already got myself a birthday present (an impulsive 5 juvias place palette purchase) I’ll start now.
Hi Jess! It's not too late to join No-Buy September (you could go from September 10 to October 10, or even longer). If you want to, go ahead and comment on the no-buy September video with your rules and dates! There are a bunch of us over there and it's good to have company :)
aaah i love the blush and the lipstick, sorry not sorry stealing this look. i've also been keeping a running wishlist during my no buy and the list changes so often and so much, and things get removed and reordered and so on and so forth and i'm really realizing how impulsive i can be with my wishes. after i finish my no buy may i am totally putting myself in a low buy and waiting for one or two months before committing to buying anything i put on the wish list. also i've used the Lash Paradise and it's definitely my HG mascara, but it seems opinions are split - some people complained it dries too fast or flakes, but to me that didn't happen. so yknow, YMMV.
Steal ittttttt! Yesssssss! I wish blush draping would become less radical so we could all walk around like this without a second thought. Re: lash paradise, the tubes I've had lasted two or three months, as opposed to the six or seven I can get out of a high-end mascara. But it's way less than half the price, so, worth it. And it didn't flake on me at all. But I had a friend who said it irritated her eyes. I guess we're the lucky ones!
I love the drunk elephant protini moisturizer but I have already gone through 3 this year at $68 and I need another to finish the year 😱 it's too much. Time to find a cheaper replacement.
I'm on my no-buy year currently too and that's so true - I also have a 2019 wish list which I just checked and products I added there at the beggining of the year I don't even remember I wanted them xD They don't value that much now. What I definitely will go for in 2019 is Armani Luminous Silk foundation, couse I fall in love with the sample of it last year
Hi Beata! Congrats on your no buy :) I talked about the dirty spray in a previous empties video, it's essentially a texturizer. I don't like how my hair behaves when it's clean! I want the grit.
Hannah Louise Poston Thank you :) I know what you mean with the hair right now ;) Got the same feeling, but my hair after 3 days seem to be covered by a small bottle of frying oil ;) I'll follow your no-buy year for sure xx
I know i wont be able to make it through a whole year long no buy but i just did a month-long no buy and although I have a wishlist i havent gone out and bought anything just yet so I'm thinking of doing a 6-mo no buy and see where that leaves me. If I still want something I will get it in 2019 but i agree, sometimes i want things just for desires' sake
Do you have a products you've hit pan on video? I've been making my way through your videos and haven't come across one. If you don't have a video like that would you consider making one?
I tried a No Buy October. I ended up spending over $400 on eyeshadow palettes on Poshmark on the 5th. My biggest problem is LE, esp if I find them on clearance. Then I get in trouble. Sigh
Arg! That's tough. But it doesn't mean that you can't succeed next time you try a no-buy! Clear rules, grit, and conviction are what it takes. You can do it!
Hmm. This is interesting. My rules state that I HAVE to use up what I have, and if I buy it, I then have it. But I think that if I decided to purchase protini to replace my moisturizer after it ran out, and it was truly horrible for me, I would exchange it and not feel like I was breaking my no-buy. I think this actually reveals that my rules aren't detailed enough, because I didn't make a provision for this situation :) But I don't think I would feel comfortable going around taking advantage of this idea, i.e. purchasing a bunch of new-to-me products "to try" when my staples run out, and then returning the ones I don't love. It's partly because I don't want to spend a lot of time engaging in shopping behavior (buying, returning, buying again, etc). I really might try protini after I use up all my moisturizer, so maybe we'll find out!
that's very understandable! I think that's smart. If a moisturizer breaks you out, that's a skin reaction, not you liking it, so I think it would be a bit different than what you outlined to avoid, but I look forward to your videos and decision
Oh man - whelp, I just found your channel today and am definitely going to be binge watching. It's interesting; I walked away from a pair of earrings that I saw and wanted at an art show today. I had decided that they probably wouldn't get much use in my daily life because they were pretty out of the ordinary... by the time I got in my car and drove away, I was sort of bummed that I hadn't purchased them, but much less bummed than when I was looking at them in person and had decided to go home empty-handed. Now that it's nighttime, I care even less than I did this morning. Funny how feelings fade like that!
that fast-fading desire is one of the most remarkable things I've noticed this year. It's honestly shocking. I'm so glad you discovered me, thank you for watching and commenting!
I am so glad for this comment. I wanted to comment in the blush draping video how this ( the blush )was on the NYFW runways but i did t want to seem like an idiot
aw, thanks for the support! Don't worry, I will stand strong. I'm sure I would feel a lot worse about breaking my no-buy than I do about having to go the rest of the year with only mediocre sunglasses :)
For me...it would be impossible NOT to try new nude lipsticks, and they would be within your rules. You see....I go through lipsticks like water (and I drink a LOT of water). I love many brands, and Bite is one of my favorites, so when I plow through one...I simply replace it with another (sometimes a similar...maybe not an exact duplicate), and so I've tried most of the Bite lippies as I've tried most of the Urban Decay. I don't have a real collection of lipsticks. I USE THEM UP. They go bad anyway. Why not use them? I hardly ever buy eyeshadow palettes, although I used to. I have about four and some singles from Bobbie Brown and MAC and Senna...even ABHm, but I've noticed by being so pinch penny with the es palettes...I pretty much buy all the same shades, and my concentration is on the lips. I've gone on many no buys, and one of the things I learned is what I really look good in. I went on them out of necessity, and I found my style. I had so much junk. Instead of looking at different expensive cleansers...have you ever tried one of those microfiber clothes. I use my beloved Purity made Simple gel cleanser and use so little. It saves me so much money. I will be coming up on my second year of being VIB rouge. Am just about there, but it's not makeup or makeup fads that get me there...it's staples and like you...gifts. I purchase a lot at the beginning of the year, but hardly anything during the middle. Had to watch my money for personal reasons, and during my very frugal period...I found some moisturizers, makeup and shampoos that cost SO little. I WILL continue to get the Sephora play box because without it...I would have wasted SO MUCH on full sizes of things I would have hated, and I'm a BIG believer in samples. Good luck to you. You're lovely. And although I like Nudestix...Iike the Bite better...especially Glace. I DO have to begin to use those five Bite multisticks up. I love them, but somehow , I forget about them. And I learned NEVER to purchase expensive sunglasses a long time ago. You live...you learn. You're so lovely. So much makeup...so little face.
I've never really been obsessed with nude lipsticks but I'm starting to see the appeal! I think I'll be buying a few next year. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I used to work out what I truly wanted by waiting 3 months and if I was still thinking about it, I knew I really wanted it. But the constant turnover of old and new products, even more rapidly than seasons, makes doing that exceedingly hard because things aren't available for that long. I know it's a deliberate marketing technique to thwart the very method I employed to keep my purchasing in check ... but it's so infuriating.
I recently discovered your channel and have really enjoyed hearing your thoughts about buying less. I have a completely full IGK Dirty Spray travel size that I won't use-- if you're interested, I can send it to you.
Oh my gosh, that is the NICEST offer! I actually had a friend give me a bottle as a gift just last month after she watched some of my videos. So if you know anyone else in your life who would use it, you should give it away to one of them. But thank you so much. And I really appreciate you watching and subscribing!
I know you posted this a while ago but I just discovered your channel through Elle S - anyway, if you want to talk yourself out of DE, check out Dr. Dray’s channel, specifically her peptides video. She’s a dermatologist and really advocates for simple strategies and products to care for your skin. She also has a great dry sense of humor and gives a lot of helpful information on skin conditions and treatments.
I have 4!year old videos I made when I was on a diet and my dad has been watching them. I need to delete them all because I’m so embarrassed that he watched them. Hi dad!!!!
Ah! When we post things to the internet I think we sometimes forget that they're permanent (unless we delete them) and that anyone can watch. It's a weird feeling!
I recently found your channel and have been binging on your videos non-stop has I find them truly inspirational and entertaining. I hope you don't take me the wrong way but you are absolutely beautiful and in this video your look reminds me so much of the human version of Cheetara from The ThunderCats (witch I love) www.artstation.com/artwork/5lXEJ (absolutely no disrespect intended with this comment)
Breaking my no-buy (especially if it caused me to backslide into overspending and debt again) would make me incredibly unhappy, which would far outweigh the joy of sunglasses! I'm looking forward to buying some new ones next year after I succeed in the no-buy project.
I can understand that. I am newer to your channel so I watched these out of order. Didn't have any clue what the rules were for your no-buy. Was surprised sunglasses were included. But props to you for paying down debt and such. I am still in that process....
Thanks for commenting! I'm totally in love with editorial blush draping :) I know it's not the usual everyday look, but if you type "blush draping" into pinterest or a google image search you will find a lot of images like this: www.pinterest.com/pin/543668986261727085/ I was inspired by these runway looks when I did the makeup for this video. I love it!
I love language and I've always been someone who tries to speak clearly and articulately! It's just the way I talk, especially when I'm trying to explain something.

I started a year nobuy with never seeing one of your videos. I came across one of your empties videos a couple of days ago. I was so thrilled to see another individual doing the same thing with very similar guidelines. It’s been very inspirational to hear your experience and thoughts on this topic:)
Hi Amanda! I'm so glad you found me and that the videos are helping. Congratulations on your no-buy! xoxo!
OMG I love your videos so much... you have such a different way to explain our desires and wishes that I relate soooo much to... Keep it up!!!
Thanks, Anouk! I appreciate the support! I will keep it up! :) xoxoxo
Your channel is growing so fast! I love when you scoot close to the camera! I think it's funny.
Maternity leave crew binge watching your older videos ❤
I recently watched a variety of fashion documentaries and in all of them the Iconic Diana Vreeland always wears a gorgeous red blush with red lip - such a timeless/classic look!
yessssss she's so amazing!! Great reference! xoxo!
Try it, try it! It's such a strange and amazing blush. Thanks for commenting, I'm so glad you are enjoying the channel! xoxo!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! xo!
I just filmed an update to this (going up on Friday) and I don't want ANY of it anymore!
Just found you in time! I'd already decided to look hard at my budget for 2019 but you've given me a much broader perspective. Thank you for the insights into a true no-buy commitment.👏
That’s a great point about loves lists. I don’t make wishlists for that reason. If I don’t remember it, I don’t want it enough
Totally inspired to do my own no buy! Going to try a month and see how much of my stash I can use up before I go back to college in September. This make up is stunning! ❤️
Aw, thanks! Good luck with your no-buy, I hope it's as life-changing for you as it has been for me :)
love your channel!
It’s really interesting to hear how fasting like this is changing your thought processes. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I love your username :)
I totally agree with you on blush brushes!! I have always wanted to try that Smashbox brush. Love your videos!
I agree! This is one of my favorite things, too!
It's cray.
oooh, I looked it up and it looks gorgeous. I'll definitely comparison shop when it comes time to buy a blush brush in 2019!
The yachiyo brush is amazing and the morphe JH06 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 blush brushes !
thanks!
Joe and Sadie debut in the HOUSE!!!
I mean...Joe kind of already had his debut with the kitchen noise in the other video
Oooh, good tips on the brown mascara! Thanks!
How long do you think is a good amount of time to want something before I get it? I’m not on a no buy but I really avoid impulse purchases
Also yes. Part of my no-buy is to become more self-aware of my actual follow-through, and the sad facts are that my eyes are hooded, and even the most expertly applied eyeliner would probably still not allow me to achieve the look I want.
same! even the things on this list have pretty much all faded or changed by now. I should film an update to this video.
I’m doing a replacement only buy like permanently, and I’ve been wanting the sweet peach palette since it came out. Gonna take a loooong time to finish my current palette tho. Park ave princess is on my bronzer list too
that's an amazing strategy (the replacement only buy). By the time you're ready to replace your palette you'll definitely be sure of what you want :)
That draped blush looks beautiful on you!
thank you!!! xoxo!
Hannah Louise Poston, okay! :)
aaah i love the blush and the lipstick, sorry not sorry stealing this look. i've also been keeping a running wishlist during my no buy and the list changes so often and so much, and things get removed and reordered and so on and so forth and i'm really realizing how impulsive i can be with my wishes. after i finish my no buy may i am totally putting myself in a low buy and waiting for one or two months before committing to buying anything i put on the wish list.
also i've used the Lash Paradise and it's definitely my HG mascara, but it seems opinions are split - some people complained it dries too fast or flakes, but to me that didn't happen. so yknow, YMMV.
I wish DE would make protini as a serum, so that it would last longer. I'd like to have the benefit of those ingredients but not in moisturizer form.
I wanna see an updated video on this!
I'm going to film one!
If I still want something I will get it in 2019 but i agree, sometimes i want things just for desires' sake
sounds like a great plan! It's amazing how the wishlist kind of dies after a while.
Does anyone know what the specific categories are? Like different serums, masks, etc
Do you have a products you've hit pan on video? I've been making my way through your videos and haven't come across one. If you don't have a video like that would you consider making one?
It's high on my list, I'm going to film it soon!
Your blush looks so good! For some reason, you give me the vibe that you will be speaking french at any moment. Lol
LOL! Bonjour!
By the way, if you bought protini and it broke you out, couldn't you return it and get your old moisturizer? Would that break your rules?
like if you bought it to replace an empty moisturizer I mean
Six month no buy, here. The Antonym Highlighting Blush in Cheek Crush calls to me.
oooh, looks pretty. let me know if you end up buying it after your six months are up!
Blush & highlighter is my favorite
so good
I have a red blush shade like that in the newest juvia's place blush palette. I love it
:)
Exhibit a is the first blush I ever bought and I’ve worn it about 4 times in the last 5 years
Oh man - whelp, I just found your channel today and am definitely going to be binge watching.
I love your blush! Isn’t 80s blush coming back anyway, lol. Trendsetting.
yes! I never thought of myself as a huge fan of 80s makeup, but blush draping is everything to me right now.
I am so glad for this comment. I wanted to comment in the blush draping video how this ( the blush )was on the NYFW runways but i did t want to seem like an idiot
Love the blush on you! 😍
thank you!
That's a very small list of to buy items if I was on a one year no buy thats for sure! My list would be miles long lol!
I thought mine would be a mile long, too. It was at the beginning. But the less I buy, the less I want! My inner life has totally changed.
Please please dont break down and buy new sunglasses. I believe in you!!!
aw, thanks for the support! Don't worry, I will stand strong. I'm sure I would feel a lot worse about breaking my no-buy than I do about having to go the rest of the year with only mediocre sunglasses :)
Love those smashbox brushes.
good to know :)
love and needed this!
Are you still wanting the hairy Hobo wallet?
yes! As of now, I plan to buy it in 2019. The Lauren wallet is such a great design. But my pouch is fine until then!
I find that when I wait that long, I almost ALWAYS lose interest. I agree that the false scarcity tactic is super frustrating.
What a great liberating feeling. Laughing out loud “looking like hot shit”
:)
Best regards for your Dad ✨
:)
I remember my old time that I have only one .. now i have many and feel choked and my new year resolution.. no buy 2019..
I'm watching this before your newest one lol
nice!
She also has a great dry sense of humor and gives a lot of helpful information on skin conditions and treatments.
thanks for the rec!
I hope you don't take me the wrong way but you are absolutely beautiful and in this video your look reminds me so much of the human version of Cheetara from The ThunderCats (witch I love) www.artstation.com/artwork/5lXEJ (absolutely no disrespect intended with this comment)
oh my gosh, what a wonderful compliment! I love that image! thank you :)
What would you say is on your 2019 wish list now you're almost at the end?
I just posted this video last week!
You look like a fairy in this video!
💖🤘🏻
Sadie😍
:)
love this! would love if we could support each other:) just subscribed!
I say buy some sunglasses if it would bring you that much joy. Life is too short.
Maybe u can try to play with face shape corrector instead of using the blush as a blush+ corrector as 1 per 2...
I enjoy shaping with bronzer for a more everyday look, but this look was all about the dramatic blush draping!
Imho..U would need to wash the blush from the sides of eyes and reduce on the sides of forehead. Too much thrre
I love it!
can you quit emphasizing every word in a sentence... you are speaking so slowly.
I love language and I've always been someone who tries to speak clearly and articulately! It's just the way I talk, especially when I'm trying to explain something.
Girl Andhermakeup asking someone to change the way they speak just to suit your preference is really rude
