The frigid outskirts should be considered a boss
as he said, i'm pretending like that f.cking place is never exist...
@@bengialpakseki1273 XD, it's not that hard, with lots of strength and a Great hammer those horses are too ez
Literally just done the area and boss with 12 adp, I’m boutta delete the game .
@@ArticBadger yeah anything is possible with enough stats to make a hedge fund manager spurt
No, bc it’s extremely easy. Try playing the third dlc next time with a better build.
The hardest boss is The Gravity, many pretend it doesn't exist, you know the truth, deep inside...
Nah, at this point the biggest cliché in the soul series is calling gravity the hardest boss, everyone know right on the surface it exists.
Top 5 hardest bosses:
5: Skeleton Lords
4: Dragonrider
3: The Last Giant
2: Covetous Demon
1: Prowling Magus and Congregation
😂😂
Mighty foes indeed.
The congregation only killed me my first time seeing them, it was the shock value of the boss being a room full of enemies
I really like Aldia though.
I love his character and Dark Souls 2 wouldn't be the same without him
@ciaranisthebest3332literally nothing about ds2 was a cash grab. Why do you ds2 haters consistently have the worst and most nonsensical opinions ever.
@@zzodysseuszz because most of them are retards
@@zzodysseuszz since ds2 is literally better than ds1 in every aspect.
@@user-ey1sf6fy3fBro get out of here 😂
@Jullyboy4447f*cking idiot
The hole in OIK's arena should have its own spot on this list
You got there before me.
The gravity around that hole is substantial.
I would also like to nominate the Giant King's camera set up.
Ranking Dark Souls 2 bosses by how many seconds it takes to kill them
Ray's guide to DS; Who needs to git good when you got OP.
Lmfao, mmd broh, thx
But why did you put the hardest boss first?
Rat Vanguard is pretty hard depending on your DPS.
Also if your build can deal with mobs. No spells and a precision weapon only, and low DPS? Have fun.
I think the biggest issue is your petrification resistance
Now we need a boss ranking for regular DS2 players
To be fair, his ranking IS for regular ds2 players, it make a lot of sense. If it was not, then the hardest boss would be Ivory king just by the time the boss stayed alive.
The only boss I haven’t beaten in this game is the angel dude because I’m too lazy to go back and start up the quest
Stop being lazy. It's a fun fight.
@@DiminishedStudios yea but my data did not save so I gotta start the game all over I wish I had time but that’s a whole sag dedicated to that game since I gotta go for 100%
Do a new playthrough I recently did one one dark souls 1 and 2 and its worth It I took my time only played 20 minutes a day got done fast even tho I rusty as hell
@@donnellebarfield3964 nah the games not that bad I just don’t wanna play it when I’m playing bloodborne again god why can’t they just remaster bloodborne already
Angel dude :)))
In my first run, I died 4 times to covetous demon but killed the ganksquad first try.
What's wrong with me, doctor ?
a bad case of misjuged hitboxes
Sometimes our brain just thinks oh this should be easy and we become complacent. I was prepared for a really hard fume knight fight for example and did him first try, yet I fukken died 8 times to ancient dragon because I was too greedy
@@progames70 what did you think about sir alonne? I found that harder than fume knight.
how the hell do you die to covetous demon?
Nashandra should be top 10 easiest. Just wait for her to come, she is a joke you can just WALK around her
She's one of the hardest bosses for speedrunning and doing no death runs
@@Guy-iv2hw ok speedrunning. how no death? she is ass I just did a no death and she was a complete joke
If there is one thing I love it's boss rankings because nobody has the same and it opens up opportunities for discussion. Something that makes my own rankings vary a lot is if I consider the run to the boss or not because in the case of DS2/SOFTS it can shake things up quite a bit.
The most notable examples of that are the Chariot, and both Smelties. I would argue that Chariot isn't very hard, definitely unique and a cool gimmicky fight, but the path to it is absolutely terrible with outright scummy AI. Now Smelties, on their own they're not that hard, sure they hit hard, they are resilient and drain your hp but the real difficulty of these fights come from their length which makes them challenging because it's more likely to make a mistake and get chunked for that sweet 50-80% of your HP.
The only reason Blue Smelter can get in my top 10 is because Iron Passage is one big "fuck the player as hard as possible" area, and the mental toll each time you fail at one of these bosses will accumulate and deteriorate your concentration, making you more likely to fail again. I still don't understand why From thought it was a good idea to put... I think it was 19? Alonne knights running at you wildly in a radius of 3km every time you want to fight Red Smelter, whyyyyyy?
Also obviously I have to mention Lud & Zallen, even on their own I'd say they're the hardest boss of the game because multiplying a mob with the same AI and moveset can cause unfair chains of attacks, and Aava on its own already has an issue of gigantic lingering hitboxes on its swipes, it's manageable because Aava is alone but when the 2 decide to both swipe you at the same time you're very likely toast. Man that boss is bad. But add Frigid Outskirts on top of that? Now you have the combo of the worst boss and worst area in DS2 back to back. My first time around I couldn't even pass the fog gate after 3h. And my second playthrough ever was a CoC run, and it took me 5 additional hours to beat these 2, making it a cumulated 8h of suffering in the Outskirts for my first victory.
Completely unrelated but I don't find the Looking Glass knight to be that difficult. His shield can be very annoying especially if you're using sweep attacks but I just can't get past how slow he is, my grandpa has faster attack windups than this guy.
On a more positive note I'd say Ivory King is my favourite DS2 boss, he has his flaws, he's not that difficult on his own and the charred knights have atrocious focus issues, but he's still cool, fun to fight and has one of the best lores in the series so props to him.
I don't find the Iron Passage that difficult of an area. Just ignore the main path, don't even put yourself through that. Go through the "fail" path and you'll get there with way less pain. It's usually pretty easy to run past everything.
@@Short_Potato I am quite certain that the amount of players who go through the main path doesn't exceed 1% it's just not worth trying for how difficult it is.
If I was to judge though I'd say Cave of the Dead is actually easy to run through, but Iron Passage can be a pain because of the slow spamming mages, and that's not mentioning the war of attrition against your own mental if you continuously fail at Blue Smelty or get caught in the Passage, I can't say it's easy to run past it.
@@markopusic8258
The mages aren't really an issue considering that
A) you can just strafe the only enemies that can actually hit you, the melee ones
B) Fatrolls are enough to get out of a bad spot if you're straight beelining.
You can't say it's easy to run past everything, but I can. We just have different experiences.
@@Short_Potato Fair enough I guess.
I agree with the two tigers are on top, getting to them is immense pain. Also most bosses are definitely harder in NG+
Two tigers isnt even in my top ten. Like many bosses, thats one where summoning npc phantoms is a very good idea
Ray "Just kill the boss fast :)" Dhimitri, everyone.
35:17 OMFG that was euphoric to watch..
Epic shit
#1 Fume Knight
#2 - #41 Doesn't matter
Elana is indeed a pain, I homeward out everytime she summons Velstadt, otherwise it is just like the Chariot or the Skeleton Lords battle IMHO - just make sure to keep one skeleton alive so she won't summon another squad.
The Blue Smelter Demon really surprised me, didn't have any problems beating it. Reaching its fog gate is the hardest part.
Sinh is like Midir: once you get its timing you'll beat it every single time pretty much without a scratch. Just make sure to run towards it when its flying, whenever it breathes while landed run to its side to smack its neck and head.
For Darklurker you just need to bomb it with Pyromancy. Good luck getting Great Chaos Fireball nowadays, though. Forbidden Sun and Great Fireball should do the trick - when it doubles it gets even easier to hit with Chaos Storm.
Toxic Mist/Dark Fog and run like crazy work wonders for the gang squad but make sure you have a consistent route. Manage your Stamina and you'll be fine.
I have not beaten the game yet, but on this first playtrough of the game I rank the bosses difficulty this way (from easiest to hardest):
(No death tier)
1: Coverous Demon
2: Skeleton Lords
3: Giant Lord
4: Guardian Dragon
5: Royal Rat Vanguard
6: The Dukes Dear Freja
7: Prowling Magus
8: Royal Rat Authority (To my surprise those tiny rats were easy for me to kill in the first 5 seconds without getting toxic from them)
9: Dragonrider
10: Last Giant
11: Flexile Sentry
12: Mirror Knight (got npc instead of actual player, still the hardest part of the fight)
13: Old Dragonslayer
14: Schorpioness Najka (Ok, I died 5 times to her, but that was because I wanted to climb on her and take a photo because I saw it in some video)
15: Mytha the Baneful Queen
16:Velstad the Royal Aegis (Lucky me leveling up lot of adaptability)
17: Ruin Sentinels
(Died once tier)
18: Pursuer
19: Old Iron King (Yes, it was the lava hole)
20: Dragonriders
(Died less then 5 times tier)
21: Demon of Song (I agree, this frog slaps really hard when it manages to hit you)
22: Lost Sinner (Didnt bother finding keys to light the arena, it was easier to just use summons because I was too pissed about the water sentry on the way to the sinner)
23: Rotten (Always rolled into the fire pools while dodging his simple attacks)
24: Executioners Charriot (My least favourite part of DS1 were the necromancers in catacombs, now they turned that into bossfight)
25: Vendrick (Fuckton of health indeed made me prone to stupid error and get killed by otherwise simple boss)
(Died 5-17 times, the tier for hardest bosses)
26: Smelter Demon (Alway was the slam attack where his sword shoots laser on the ground in the last third of his health or something, always think I am safe when I am far away from him to heal)
27: Ancient Dragon (Fuck his firebreath on ground, you have to run 3 seconds before he even starts that stupid attack to not get hit by it)
Thats all so far, but keep in mind I already won most endings in both ds1 and ds3, so I am somewhat skilled in dark souls games and will die lot less.
In my opinion DS2 is a very good souls game but most of the bosses have a restricted moveset and only high damage, like vendrik(ok,is an hollow but also Gwyn is hollow and has at least 6 moves) or demon of song or also Alvaa whose moveset is used for another boss. This thing is a very weak point of ds2 unfortunately.
Edit:Ds2 has some features really cool like interactions with ambient like Mytha's boss fight and the coolest armours.(sorry for some grammatical errors,I'm Italian)
Ds1’s bosses are infinitely worse than this tho so if ds1 is considered a masterpiece despite of this than ds2 should be considered perfection.
Never had that many problems with Blue smelter demon, DS2 was my first game and the normal smelter demon whooped my ass, but Blueberry in the other hand is just the same guy but his attacks are faster and he has a lot of health.
If there's a boss that helped me git gud, it was blueberry, but I didn't really struggle, not even on the iron Passage since you can just run past everything
Ray best advices "Kill the boss before it can launch it's attack, easy"
Don't touch my Skeleton Lords you wretch
26:24 true, im from latam and yes, in Spanish his name is mirror knight: caballero del espejo
Yugioh reference, my fave boss coming in at number 6, helpful hints and reasonable logic for rankings, and the words "I hate to consider this a boss fight" for the gang squad...is there a more perfect video?
i was expecting the comment for the magus fight to be "lmao what?"
I'm actually quite shocked to see your number one, Ray. The 2 cats is definitely my most hated boss as well. You always make this shit look so easy, so I'm glad it wasn't just me lol. I died so many times to them, I ultimately got good at the run and just avoided everything, but it still takes a few minutes which is forever when it's your 12th time doing it. Good list, good video, and I always appreciate your content. Thanks!
I enjoyed the fight with both Sir Alonne, the Ivory King has the baddast intro in all 3 Souls games, Rayme is a pain in the ass, Lud & Zallen have defeated only once after a lot of trying before NG++... and The Pursuer still haunts me :-D
Your channel inspired me to pick up ds2 again
About to go into ng+ after darklurker
Update; finished the platinum
95% of it done with club/ great club
@@secretnamemcsecretonpfft that was quick
Magus and Congregation harder than skeleton lords? Also it's more likely to be at low levels at Huntman's Copse than at Seldora... also what's the deal with the early NG bosses fought at at least SL 90 and full Estus?
Did a fist run.
Covetous Demon killed me :(
…im so sorry
No joke I legit beat royal rat authority on my first try.
the charoit boss wasnt a problem with my faith build with 3 adp i enjoy low adp
26:40 in Italy it is named mirror knight, luckily.
3:50 that was smooth af 👌
stupid old iron king always throws me back in the lava hole
The gameplay is lul but the comments and the placement is absolutely spot on, at least for the highest cicle. Beat all the bosses on NG8 except for Lud & Zallen. Elana particularly broke me and I almost lost my sanity, so seeing her at #2 behind the one boss I couldn't beat feels like how I would have ranked them.
I created a new character because of this guy. My 1st char was high level already and never leveled ADP once.
didnt u have soul vessels anymore? u couldve just reseted your levels at the nice house of the 3 grannies at the start of the game :0
Its funny that the footage is mostly one shots, but it's still a semi coherent ranking
Dragonrider is more dangerous then Old Iron King?!
5:46 Who needs adaptability? Buckler shines against Pursuer.
6:18 I buff Zweihander with Dark Weapon and destroy Mage and clerics with two swipes.
Hardest is ROUTE TO BOSS IN SHRINE OF AMANA
Frigid outskirts: "Allow me to introduce myself".
But what if there was a combination area? Frozen lake with no traction, winds you can6 fight against or see through, and fucking sniper mages and reindeer...topped off by thin ice you can fall through and whatever area boss but X2.
"Looking Glass" is the archaic terminology for a mirror. This game is a medieval dark fantasy, archaic words will be used.
I started a magic build, then started converting it over to melee in endgame. Magic is a mistake
No
True story. I never fought mytha after draining the pool.
I never knew you could, and when i saw ds2 videos i thought that the arena had changed for scholar of the first sin, which i do not have.
I had spent 400 hours (combining all my other saves) on this game, and i had never drained her pool.
Mytha with the pool is one of the hardest bosses in the game, (and i do not have the dlcs)
I'd say maybe 3rd place. Actual fucking hell (especially on ng+)
The only bosses I didn't beat are dark lurker and lud and zallen , because it's way too much of backtracking and the bosses are just boring gank fights , I already had enough of backtracking with blue smelter demon which was the hardest boss in the game for me mainly because I didn't know that it's different from the original but also because of the backtracking
Overall dark souls 2 could have been a masterpiece if the developers weren't lazy and actually understood what makes souls games fun
Not difficulty for the sake of difficulty or for the sake of increasing the length of game but the sake of fun challenge
That's why ds2 is my least favourite souls game and the only one I never opened again after finishing it
bruh the development was rushed, Bandai Namco cut a year of development from the people who were working on ds2
darklurker is great tho, one of the best bosses in the game
I actually shared your opinion a cuple of years ago, but now ds 2 is second place for me (ds3 first). At first i played the original ds2 which was awful for me, but after a year or so i tried scholar it was a completly different game for me. The game was way better at placing enemies and not spamming as hard as in the Og. And i really enjoyed the areas of the game and actually i really like the length of the game. It almost feels openworld because of the all the stuff u can do in this game after certain events etc. it has a unique complexity and puzzling style to it, which im really a fan of. For example going back to the wooden giants all over the starting area and finding a new mechanic explicit to ds2. idk the more i played through the game the more i learned to love it, even if it frustrated me more then the other 2 games. it has its own charm :)
Feel completely free of being wrong.
darklurker is basically like the nameless king fight, the camera is your real enemy
Even Covetous splodge handed me my own arse on a platter one time. I never lived it down.
I killed fume knight on my 3rd try. Had to try 20+ times for dark lurker.
Lud and zalen should be ranked easier than Aida as they have the same move set and less health. Blue smelter demon is the same as regular smelter demon in terms of difficulty. And Elana isn’t that bad even with velstadt. Dark lurker was harder than her if you don’t have the dps
Actually used 22+ million souls on one climax 👌🏻
it caps out at 50000 souls but i used 50 million souls
Finally, someone who doesn’t put fume knight in first place. I have more trouble with the rotten filthy homeless woman at the bottom of dragon sanctuary and sinh. Not too hard but I find the more difficult then fume knight
I didnt know soul appease worked on rats, they dont fit the description of mindless hollows
vendrick should b higher imho. flexile sentry is not harder than vendrick, not even with the ninjas in ng+
This is all his opinion. It's your right to have your own opinion, it's his right to have his own opinion
I consider Magus easier than most of the bosses ranked below him. The casters are the only real threat, and even those are squishy and relatively slow.
I lost in the first run through of the Covetous Demon. But the giant was such cheese. The iron king was simple but moving around us my weakness
You make this look easy
I'd put pursuer and Dragonslayer armor as harder than the giant lord. Congregation much lower, Aldia much lower, and old iron king would be tied with aldia. Chariot would also be lower because its less a boss and more a gimmick that's easy to figure out. Dark Lurker could also be #1 for casual scrubs as there are no summons to help with it. I beat Elana first try with the 1 summon there, but I know she'd be a lot harder with low levels because if you cant dps her down she can summon spam, meanwhile I had a weapon that easily hit multiple skeletons at the same time killing them. I'd also rate Aava much higher, very hard to dodge attacks and a grab that one shots a lot of players... which is also why I agree the other kings pets are the hardest. Double aava.
Ray, the result would be very different on NG+7, it seems easy when you do it, but it is not true.
Lmao he is using cheats to get 20mil souls on NG, you can confirm this by the souls the bosses drop.
@@somegreekguy6361
He's on NG+7.
@@davidnewhart2533 so u tell me The Last Giant drops the SAME amount of souls in NG and NG+7? And Old Iron King drops only 48k souls in NG+7?????
I'd really like to see you have a full ranking of the other souls games
Moral of the story: Level up ADP
I always felt Alonnes is much harder than Fume Night
Obviusly, the N° 1 are those fckng cats and blue Smelter Demon
I never thought Elana could be that high, but has a lot of sense what you say
Smelter demon is free I have no idea why anyone says he’s hard
I see the advantage to lvling ADP, but I never bothered to. And I've beaten the game several times. Now i have gotten my butt kicked because of it for sure. But I don't know of any good sould farming methods to get the souls to lvl it up. I just put it in other stats like endurance. Any farming methods that you would recommend?
A lot of bosses ranked at the top i found them very easy, darklurker and the gank squad are my less favorite, long ass walk just to figth a gank boss, no thanks
Can you show stats and equipment?
Covet gave me trouble, meanwhile I did well against fume knight.
Soneone is still angry about being called out.
Lol I first tried covetous on my first playthrough and I was just like what was that but I guess he's more of a lore point than a skill barrier
Admit it, you just wanted people to see you obliterating bosses in a neat compilation, but in a way that doesn't look like bragging too much 😁
i had a very hard time with blue smelter demon but darklurker is more worst for me ! haven't gone far through Crown of the Old Iron King coz i started it by mistake and now i think i need to go though the first dlc after finishing the main story ...
Wait if you kill the knights quickly in the ivory room they don't sacrifice? Am i so bad a this game?
What bonfire intensity is this on? NG+7?
Mytha Is super easy if you have fire
I mean, jester Thomas solos her half the time while i get repeatedly knocked on my ass

Thank you for video. But your list is just another confirmation that various bosses are difficult for various players. For example, I've never had problems with gardians ))
How did you did 1700 dmg to Giant lord with great resonant souls
Can you do sometimes some video of Dark Souls 3?
can u plz provide me ur stats/rings? I use to go skating around balls to the wall zero-poise in my elden ring playthroughs (bloodhound step + hand of malenia + slut outfit). then I started dark souls and just been cowering behind my shield and bow half the time lol - some of these fights were very inspiring
5:40 No way you're putting the persuer above the old dragonslayer... Lol.
9:04 "What would happen if you bring a shotgun to medieval times?"
32:36 What can we expect when someone thing it's a good idea to put a boss right before the final boss and the POST final boss? I only actually remembered the same of the boss I had beaten after the credits finished rolling and I managed to read the soul description.
34:50 "Considering how bad magic is on this game" *Proceed to use magic to one shot half the bosses
37:02 It did...I came from hundreds of hours of ds1, died several times to multiple bosses of course, but could still pretty much pass most part of the early/mid game without getting impressed. But this guy...It really forced me to rethink everything I learned. It's the kind of boss that you finish with a reverence, not a mockery chant.
37:55 Look, I like blue smelter demon, it gave me a very enjoyable fight, I didn't even get mad dying to him. That said, I repeatedly go through all royal wood forest just to fight Manus, Artorias and Kalameet. I hardly have the will to go through all the bs called iron passage to fight the blue rock.
40:07 In my 1st playthrough I actually got them on the 2nd try, perfectly honest fight. I admit I was quite inspired that day, timed my attacks, punished only when possible...Got to give my best to never have to go through this hell again.
stats and clothes homie?
IMO Ancient Dragon, Last Giant, Gank Squad, Belfry Gargoyles, Throne Watcher+Defender harder & Aged Smelter Demon, Sir Alonne, Flexile Sentry, Nashandra, Lost Sinner, Dragonrider easier
There should be a vine boom sound effect on every :)
no
In the spanish version of the game the Demon of Song is referred to as female. Is this a mistake?
Sir Alonne also got a rare animation pattern, at least 5% chance to parry you
i got the seppuku end of sir alonne did i suffer yes
#29 didn't even have time to wake up, rip
How about doing top 20 pve so we can beat those bosses easier
2:08 I died a lot for this Boss because my PC had the button (a)(he is broken)and I always had to roll to where he was and I always died for water
hahahaha
i fought him without rolling or cheesing or moving the platform at sl1
Ray still throwing shade at abyss watchers lmao
7:24 Actually you also did it before 7 years
idk why but Aldia's voice has Dusk voice in it
yea the top 7 are difficult bosses which gave me some trouble
What set up did u use for fume knight he is giving me a hard time on ng+ 2
i think ivory king is hardest boss of game fume is pretty simple as long as you roll in and left when he does the flame blade
Ray isnt nashandras chime better for hex dmg or is chaithas chime buffable or what di i miss?
Do i
It's situational! Chime of want deals slightly more damage, but Caitha's is slightly faster
Ok thx for the answer
Is silent storm your second channel?!
Darklurker roadblocked me until I finally stopped respecting him and just treated it like a DPS check.
“Here’s a list of DS2 bosses ranked by difficulty”
Proceeds to one, two or three shot most of them 😆
Hi how i can have magic weapon in staff how you do that
Whats that lightning weapon he is using?
Sir alonne not being the number 1 wtf, this guy is fvckin sonic, hardest boss for me.
Darklurker at #6? I remember 4 great lightning spears and he's dead, he didn't even have time to split
Fight him melee.
Josh Ben-Dan facts
fight the camera, can't see shit when fireball and dark orb hits you from random angles
Bruh how is rotten not lower, dude was as easy as covetous on my bow-only playthrough
