Messy Communication and What He Really Wanted to Talk About

This video shows a slice of conversation between a mom and nonspeaking autistic son using the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) approach and high tech AAC that has been customized for a gestalt processor. This conversation is not meant to be held up as an example of how to implement NLA nor how to customize AAC for all gestalt processors. It’s just simply showing an imperfect conversation using an imperfect system in all it’s glorious messiness and how important it is that AAC be tailored to each unique individual so communication style/preferences are taken into account and fully honored.
