I've only read Challenger Deep which was really good, but I also have the first two unbound books. Are they unique/worth it compared to other YA dystopian/scifi?
I preferred the Unbound books over Scythe if I'm being honest. Unbound as a series was so well written and it pulled you in. I picked up Scythe because I'd read those books and wanted more of his writing, it ultimately disappointed me. Maybe it's because I'm older now but his writing is still for younger audiences but I'm in the less popular boat so idk.
Geekerella was a cute read, but it wasn't my favourite Cinderella retelling :/ Regan, you look so beautiful in this video, your makeup suits you so well! :D
The Theif series is fantastic, i'm happy your reading it! And the 5th book is as much a part of the series as the others, book 4 was also in someone else perspective but still build on the same problems as previous books.
I got really obsessed with the app you suggested. It's an amazing place to share you bookish love and the people there make you feel very welcomed. Thanks for recommending it!
Love that you're reading Maria V. Snyder! I never see anyone talking about those books anymore, but they're so good. Leif might be my favorite new character of any in Magic/Fire Study, but Valek and Yelena are the best. Hope you like the Glass series (books 4-6) as much when you get there. Opal is a great narrator too.
I need to read Geekerella soon, I've heard nice things about it. The Thief series sounds like it would be such a fun series to binge read, I'll have to look into them more! I NEED the PJO coloring book! I'm a die hard fan and it's killing me that I don't own it yet.
Glad I'm not the only person struggling to find a matching set of the Maria V. Snyder books. I have Magic and Fire Study in the photographic style covers that I found second-hand but I can't find poison study in those covers online. I love watching your videos because I'm looking to discover some new fantasy series I haven't heard of before!
Mary V. Carry On is really good so far. I'm listening to the audiobook of Illuminae but I'm sort of confused but hopefully I'll understand it better the more I read!
Oh Geekerella sounds amazing. I'm really excited for audiobooks because I recently realized how great they are. :) I also borrowed The demon king and The Black prism from the library and I'm very happy to have them in my TBR.
Hey Regan, have you ever made something along the lines of a favourite pirate books video? Would love to hear your thoughts and what a good pirate book holds 😜
i bought 17 books during this month and i'm so excited to read them all especially one that u've been searching for 4y now which is "the perks of being a wallflower" !!
it's not out yet so I haven't read it but theres a new book by Mackenzi Lee called The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy coming kinda soon-ish. It's a sequel to The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue which i absolutely adored so I'm sure the second one will be just as awesome. (This is all assuming you haven't heard of it of course, if you have, yay!)
R Alexander ooooh yes I didn't think of that! I read the gentleman's guide to vice and virtue which I LOVED LOVED LOVED so I am so KEEN for this new one! Hopefully they are a lot more piratey though!
I love nerdy books like Geekerella. I haven't read that one yet but it reminds me of books like Fangirl and i adored Fangirl. It speaks to me on so many levels with being a nerdy fangirl of too many fandoms myself xD I hope we get more nerdy fandom related books soon :)
OMG IVE BEEN HAVING A HORRIBLE TIME AS WELL FINDING MATCHING COVERS FOR THE POSION STUDY SERIES TOO!!! It's that second book I can never find in that specific edition 😭
Nobody on booktube ever talks about Neal Shusterman! I adore his books! I've also read a ton of them, but I still have many to go, since he has a lot of books.
The matching covers issue is a mega issue with me for Maria V. Snyder's books...(all of the series do this...ugh!)...luckily I love her stories so much that I try to ignore it. But it is a huge pet peeve w/her series. (none of my covers match...sigh!!!!!). That series is amazing (you'll like the Seaglass/Spyglass series too I sense)
I loved Geekerella! I did a Rapid Review on my channel and I squealed so much during that book. It helped that I grew up going to the Trek Expo in my hometown!
Yay! My post was shown in the Books Amino scroll lol (Authors I Need to Read More) love that app! Ive been able to use it as my book blog platform and get ARCs.
They were giving away the third book in the Maria V Snyder series in my library and I had to pick it up. Like you said it's been so hard to find matching covers so I'm stuck with book 3 for a while.
I listened to Geekerella on audiobook, and I really loved it! You know it's quite an easy read, but I just love everything that has to do with Cinderella no matter what
I just bought that cover of Magic Study and it was incredibly difficult to find! Its like everyone only sells the new cover of the second book! Just a heads up, be careful when purchasing book 3. I got the correct cover, but it's a little taller than the others :(
I bought way too many books this summer! One of my booktube friends from the States came to visit this summer and of course we went book shopping together (more than once!) and every time I said: "oh I shouldn't, I can't keep spending money on books", she would say: "But you're on vacation!" and I'd be like: "Ok I'm convinced." haha
I am loving this new filming location so much and I see the plant is back again :D also a tiny questions, how do you fit them all in only two bullies? I have three and it's impossible already so two would be a disaster :D
I'm excited for the new releases coming out in September. I want to buy all of them but I have to save money for a road trip I'm taking the first weekend in October.
i saw the percy jackson coloring book and got so excited! then i actually opened it and got intimidated by how much there is to color XD omggg i love falling kingdoms! i read both of the spin off books and the falling kingdom series up to the last book i'm so anxiously waiting for! D:
Casey VEa Please try to schedule some reading time anyways, even if it's just ten or fifteen minutes before going to sleep or on the bus. During my first semester of law school, I abandoned all of my reading and hated it. Now I try to read whenever I feel like it, and since reading is a passion for me, I enjoy how it gives me some balance and distraction from my school readings. Hope I didn't cross any boundaries with this, but really wanted to encourage you to keep reading fiction on the side x
Hi Regan, I wanted to ask you where did you find that magic study book, i can't find one with that cover and i've been really looking for some time now! Yes. It's annoying that they can't stick with just one cover for those books ! Thanks for your vids! Bye.
If you want a good fandom book, Eliza's Monsters by Francesca Zappia if you haven't already read it. Deals with a lot of topics, like mental illness etc in a cool way, and has some of the main character's webcomic in the novel itself.
Love love love all your videos!! The echo in the background is a little weird just in case you want to know, but this is still such a great vid 😍 Lots of love for you!
I'd be very interested to hear your [non-spoilery] thoughts on Scythe, Regan. 😊 I hope you enjoy it! I myself bought A LOT of books this month. 😍 I am most excited to own the first two books in the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, the Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo, and the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor. I also bought book four (Idle Ingredients) in the Sin du Jour series by Matt Wallace, which I LOVE ❤. And then there are miscellaneous others that I am glad to own, but their titles are escaping me at the moment. 🤔😕 Oh! I also bought all five books in a quilting mystery series (by Mary Marks) for my Mom. ❤ And then I finally found "like new" copies of the three books I had been missing in D.D. Barant's six-book Bloodhound Files series to buy. I cannot remember their titles or order in the series, but I am VERY glad to finally have this entire series. At last! 😁😍❤
You know, I've noticed that the books from BookOutlet that BookOutlet bloggers get always look in practically perfect condition. After ordering several times from BookOutlet, I have stopped because books have been arriving to me in condition that I would really say is more Scratch and Dent. It's kind of frustrating. The prices are great, but you never know what kind of condition the book is going to be in...
I got the first Game of Thrones book originally read it as an ebook. As well as Our Dark Duet, Gemina, the first Percy Jackson book, Noteworthy, and Every Heart a Doorway. Already read Gemina and I am working on Percy Jackson.
I finished reading Every Heart a Doorway, I was a bit disappointed because I felt that it rushed the mystery part in order to be short and it built up no suspense for me and I was unable to care about the characters and what was happening to them. I may read the second one though because I found Jack and Jill to be intriguing .
I'm interested to see what you think about The Love that Split the World by Emily Henry, I ended up giving it one star, but a lot of people have liked it.
So many September releases! Which is honestly kind of annoying because my classes start back up halfway through that month and I just don't think I'm going to have the time to pick them up. Gah. Why don't popular books come out in like July when I do have the time? Ya know?
Hey so this might be an odd thing to ask but I really want to get the app but I don't know my phone number off by heart and it's at my house is there a way you can use it without putting in your phone number.
Ugh Magic study made me so mad!! Poison study was AMAZING but when I read Magic study I was so confused. Doesn't even feel like the same world or characters!! DNFd
Hi, (new subscriber here), I was wondering if you ever write the titles that you mention in your description? I mean it's not that hard just to go through the video and fast forward I guess. I think I'm just lazyy
If you want a book that is an ode to fandom, you should read Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. I finished it in like two sittings, and it was so good! One of the best contemporaries I've read in a long time!
I agree! I wasn't expecting much, mostly because I'm not a huge contemporary reader in the first place, but I loved that book! It was so sweet and cute, but deep and truthful as well. I especially thought the drawings brought it up to the next level.
Nothing to do with books but I'm loving the lighting in your new apartment! much brighter and lighter than the warm yellow in your older videos!xx
Yes! I lovveeee Neal Shusterman! You'll love Scythe!
Natalie it was for sure one of my favorites reads of the year so far. I loved it
I've only read Challenger Deep which was really good, but I also have the first two unbound books. Are they unique/worth it compared to other YA dystopian/scifi?

A Bookish Balance My favorite was definitely Cinder of The Lunar Chronicles.
Same here! :)
Your lighting and bookshelves look so good in the new house!❤️
Your jean jacket is so cute!!!!!
im reading the "the thief" series also!
I started reading poison study because you kept raving about it and im halfway through and im really liking it so far!
Looooooved Geekerella!! Read it in a single sitting. SO ADORABLE
I recently bought Illuminae, Carry On, and The Hate You Give. Wish me luck
Mariyah Richardson oh my god Carry On and Illuminae are so good!!!!!
Mariyah Richardson I'm currently reading the hate U give and it's amaazing 💙💙
All of those were amazing 5 star books for me. I hope you're enjoying them!
AAA GREAT PICKS
Mary V. Carry On is really good so far. I'm listening to the audiobook of Illuminae but I'm sort of confused but hopefully I'll understand it better the more I read!
Unhooked was soooo good! You will definitely enjoy it.
You should try lost boy by Christina Henry it's dark but really good 😊
I loved Lost Boy it's one of my favorite retellings!
Phyllis Turner ikr !?! Her books deserve more love they are really good
It does I'm so glad I saw it at barnes & noble I haven't heard anyone on booktube talking about it.
Oh Geekerella sounds amazing. I'm really excited for audiobooks because I recently realized how great they are. :) I also borrowed The demon king and The Black prism from the library and I'm very happy to have them in my TBR.
Omg we're reading the five books together this month!. Magic study, the darkest magic and the entire 'The Thief' series!
Hey Regan, have you ever made something along the lines of a favourite pirate books video? Would love to hear your thoughts and what a good pirate book holds 😜
I recently got a Jane Austen coloring book and I love it!
I just finished Thick as Thieves (the newest one) and will be posting a series review soon! I enjoyed it and already posted by thoughts on goodreads!
i bought 17 books during this month and i'm so excited to read them all especially one that u've been searching for 4y now which is "the perks of being a wallflower" !!
Yes I love pirate books but they are SO DAMN HARD TO FIND

Your lipstick in is so pretty wow
I liked but didn't love Geekarella since it's a pretty straight forward retelling but it's cute and light!
Yay! My post was shown in the Books Amino scroll lol (Authors I Need to Read More) love that app! Ive been able to use it as my book blog platform and get ARCs.
Really interested to see what you think about Unhooked, because I was *not* a fan of it at. all.
i think its always nice to have a few books you're excited and know you'll get to, than a bunch of books you're not too bothered about
They were giving away the third book in the Maria V Snyder series in my library and I had to pick it up. Like you said it's been so hard to find matching covers so I'm stuck with book 3 for a while.
Scythe! Such a thought provoking read.
all D books I really liked Scythe. I read it last week and kept wondering why I waited so long to pick it up.
I really want to pick this one up!
all D books I keep seeing it at the bookstore but never pick it up. I probably should.
all D books I can't wait to pick it up!
I loved scythe so so much! One of my favorite books of all time!
I instantly went on iBooks and purchased Unhooked. I didn't want to wait! I love Peter Pan retellings!!
This month I have had to read a few books for school :( excited to get into some other stuff soon!
Scythe was one of my favorite books I read this year!
I love your videos! And btw i have waited for this video for SOO long :)))))
I WAS JUST WATCHING ONE OF YOUR VIDEOS! Also, I LOVE your lipstick
I listened to Geekerella on audiobook, and I really loved it! You know it's quite an easy read, but I just love everything that has to do with Cinderella no matter what
I loved Geekerella was such a cute Cinderella story for fandoms!

Please do a new apartment tour! Thanks for all the book recommendations! Been watching your videos for years now :)
I am LOVING that tank top!!
Are The Hidden Oracle and The Dark Prophecy in opposite order on the shelf? xD
Love the study series, especially Janco
When you eld up magic study your eyes looked sooo green and pretty
OMG! You're gonna love Scythe! Is SOOOOO good 😱
I loved Geekerella, and Scythe was amazing, can't wait to hear your thoughts!!
Yes! Book hauls are p-e-r-f-e-c-t!!! So are you girlfriend! Keep making these videos :D
I am loving this new filming location so much and I see the plant is back again :D also a tiny questions, how do you fit them all in only two bullies? I have three and it's impossible already so two would be a disaster :D
Could you do a video on dealing with anxiety. I suffer badly and it would be so helpful to see how you cope? Xxx
I'm excited for the new releases coming out in September. I want to buy all of them but I have to save money for a road trip I'm taking the first weekend in October.
Just saw my Geekerella picture when you scrolled through the books amino app! Pretty cool! :)
Scythe is quite good, have fun reading it!
Interested to see what you think of Magic Study - I really enjoyed Poison Study but I've heard this one's kinda rubbish ☹️
I really need to read Poison Study I've had it on my shelf for months and still haven't picked it up yet I've heard a lot of good things though!
i saw the percy jackson coloring book and got so excited! then i actually opened it and got intimidated by how much there is to color XD omggg i love falling kingdoms! i read both of the spin off books and the falling kingdom series up to the last book i'm so anxiously waiting for! D:
I want to buy books but there's med school about to start and i just want to read more fiction novels. 😭😭
Casey VEa Please try to schedule some reading time anyways, even if it's just ten or fifteen minutes before going to sleep or on the bus. I only bought 3 books this month, The Fifth Season, The Northern Lights and the Subtle Knife. No idea who I was able to restrain for so long.
Where is that jacket in the cutout footage from??
Hi Regan,
I wanted to ask you where did you find that magic study book, i can't find one with that cover and i've been really looking for some time now!
Yes. It's annoying that they can't stick with just one cover for those books !
Thanks for your vids!
Bye.
I personally didn't jive well with Unhooked, I had a hard time relating to the Main Character, so I hope you enjoy it more!
I can't help but notice The School For Good And Evil series at the back and I'm wondering if you've read it because maaaaaan!
If you want a good fandom book, Eliza's Monsters by Francesca Zappia if you haven't already read it. Deals with a lot of topics, like mental illness etc in a cool way, and has some of the main character's webcomic in the novel itself.
How have I never heard of Geekerella??? Sounds fab
I've been wanting to read Scythe since it came out! 📚
Love love love all your videos!! The echo in the background is a little weird just in case you want to know, but this is still such a great vid 😍 Lots of love for you!
I think you will love the prequel trilogy to the Falling Kingdoms series! i honestly kinda liked it a bit more than the actual series itself 😂
I thought this was a wrap up and the coloring book had me really confused...
Kaitlyn Carroll lol
Really I retesting hau!. I hope you enjoy them all.
Regarding Magic Study you can now buy all the series in one book. :) I read poison study and magic study never finished it. Want to!!!
I loved unhooked, it's a Peter Pan retelling
So many books come out around my birthday. On the 19th🎉
Love your dress!
Just wanted to clarify that King of Attolia (also my fave in the series) is the third book, and A Conspiracy of Kings is the fourth (:
Currently reading Well That Was Awkward by Rachel Vail.... so good!
Scythe sounds *amazing.*
SCYTHE IS SOOOO GOOD!!!
Scythe is a great read, however my copy of the book came with numerous typos that are .... distracting to say the least. Maybe that's just me🤔?
Thank you for recommending this app! Love it!
If u like the sound of unhooked then you should read lost boy by Christina Henry her books are soooo good but really dark
Where did you find that edition of Magic Study? I'm having trouble finding it as well!
You know, I've noticed that the books from BookOutlet that BookOutlet bloggers get always look in practically perfect condition. After ordering several times from BookOutlet, I have stopped because books have been arriving to me in condition that I would really say is more Scratch and Dent. It's kind of frustrating. I got the first Game of Thrones book originally read it as an ebook. As well as Our Dark Duet, Gemina, the first Percy Jackson book, Noteworthy, and Every Heart a Doorway. Already read Gemina and I am working on Percy Jackson.
Our Dark Duet and Gemina are amazing! I have read Every Heart a Doorway too, which is fun because it's so short. What Percy Jackson book are you on?
I'm on the first one, everyone has been telling me to the read it but middle grade fantasy is always like meh to me so I'll see if I continue.
I finished reading Every Heart a Doorway, I was a bit disappointed because I felt that it rushed the mystery part in order to be short and it built up no suspense for me and I was unable to care about the characters and what was happening to them. I may read the second one though because I found Jack and Jill to be intriguing .
Phyllis Turner I can agree with that. I was a bit disappointed by the ending, but I liked that it was super fast paced.
Omg my post from Books Amino was shown in the beginning of the video haha
you gotta read John Dies at the End you're gonna love it
I'm interested to see what you think about The Love that Split the World by Emily Henry, I ended up giving it one star, but a lot of people have liked it.
HAY FUTURE REAGAN HAAAAAAY
Oh wow where is the jacket/sweater future Reagan is wearing from??
So many September releases! Which is honestly kind of annoying because my classes start back up halfway through that month and I just don't think I'm going to have the time to pick them up. Gah. Why don't popular books come out in like July when I do have the time? Ya know?
Hey so this might be an odd thing to ask but I really want to get the app but I don't know my phone number off by heart and it's at my house is there a way you can use it without putting in your phone number.
Ugh Magic study made me so mad!! Poison study was AMAZING but when I read Magic study I was so confused. Doesn't even feel like the same world or characters!! DNFd
What pirate novels do you reccommand
what's up at 6:50?
I think she edited it wrong, but it is a Peter Pan retelling
There's an anime that Scythe's premise reminds me of called (i thiiink) Sunday Without God
Your shelves look great :)
Lauren Bastian Yes! To everything you said! Lol. I would love it if Monstrous Sea became a real thing. I'd read the heck out of that!
