IMO House of Wolves was 2nd best, with it having my favorite single song, The Ruling House. I just remember that mission, you see the 3 Barons, music starts kicking in, you're fighting off adds while trying to survive against the 3 Barons... Ah, memories

I remember when I was a young boy, my dad used to play this game with my uncle and some friends. I remember it was a week before Halloween and I came home too see my dad doing the devils lair strike. This is the first time I’ve seen a boss in this game, I hop in the bed and watch the whole thing. This is now my favorite strike of all time. I remember his first raid, thinking about it makes me kinda emotional, I was younger and everything was simpler. I remember everyone he played that raid with. I hope they are all doing okay. I remember when I first played this game. I only had the first 2 expansions, and even though everyone else was level 40 400 light and I was level 31 light 200 something, I still loved that game. One day my uncle came over and game shared with me so I could have all expansions. I remember my first raid. It was vault of glass. I wanted to do the raid so badly I had to 4 man the thing. It was a pain but I got a thunder lord and time breaker sparrow. Then i did the rise of iron story. I remember getting the young wolfs howl, one of my favorite moments in that whole campaign was getting that sword. Salidin says “approach” then the music starts playing. Then I stopped playing this game. Not sure why, but to this day I wish this game didn’t die, I would rather have this game still go and d2 not be a thing. For those who read this whole thing, thank you, this was my childhood game and I appreciate your time. Hope your doing great!
that's a great story dude. for me I remember my journey started in late elementary school with vanilla D1. played the hell out of it with my friend and I remember the black garden mission creeping me out, we also eventually did the VoG raid with a team he found. I remember staying home on sick days and just patrolling the beautiful planets while meeting random peeps. took a break and missed out on TTK then joined back in middle school when RoI came out. played the campaign and loved it. really helped me get through a rough time. divorce of my parents, moving to a new house, new school, getting used to a stepmom. my fondest memory was playing TTK campaign after a baseball game and my dad got me subway. and i often loved to play on rainy days. I still play D2 with my high school friends but not with any of the same people I played D1 with. edit: and I still have yet to play the King's Fall and Wrath of the Machine raid but i definitely would like to someday...
I came back in here in honor of Micheal Salvatori. This is what I consider to be his best soundtrack. Although that's like comparing polished gold to slightly less polished gold
I listen to the Destiny 1 & 2 (+expansions obviously) soundtracks almost every day, but i definetly like most of D1 music more for some reason. It just more epic and, in a way, hopeful and full of mystery.

I have destiny for the xbox, but recently I've been searching everywhere for the original destiny as imo D2 isnt that great (albiet its not as nostalgic and I just like D1 alot more). Got any tips to where I can find D1 lol (not on their website, steam, I might look in gamestop)

Marty is actually credited in two of the songs here, Shadow of the Walker and Ascension. Wonder if they managed to bury the hatchet and let him do a couple of guest tracks for old time's sake. Still, Michael Salvatori doesn't get nearly enough credit for the work he has done, he and Marty were partners that both co-owned an audio production company. They both started doing music for Bungie together, the two are both equally responsible for Halo's great soundtracks.

I think that vanilla destiny has too many great tracks to be bested by any I've heard yet. Nothing captured the moment as well as The Last Array and Sepiks Prime. Sure there are some great soundtrack in there, but I really don't find them on par to these two.

The Taken King had its moments, and House of Wolves is the expansion I joined during. Destiny 2 is great and Forsaken has brought Destiny to amazing heights... but Rise of Iron is what made Destiny, Destiny for me. Rise of Iron was by far my favorite; I loved how everything felt... ancient, and sad, yet hopeful and heroic, the music and its primary melody incited... it incited the feeling of the Iron Lords. Axes, fires, wolves, snowy mountaintops, the Iron Temple, falling to the very technology they believed would save them. Rise of Iron was truly my favorite, even now, two years later, I find myself hearing its songs echoing through my mind. Ahhh, I remember it like it was only a week ago. Rise of iron, my uncle and two brothers had just bought me an Xbox one, since rise of iron required next Gen console at the time. Destiny will forever hold a special place in my heart
This score is, in a word, perfect. The entire expansion was the pinnacle of Destiny content. Great strikes, plenty of endgame content, compelling (and terrifying) story, cool loot, and a raid that I will not soon forget. Thanks for posting this.
its not confirmed yet. but I have theory that a cabal dlc might be the last dlc because of owl sector. either that, or the first raid in destiny 2 is a cabal raid.
Track 21 sounds so effin evil. Love how they sing "SIVA". The amazing effort Bungie puts into the soundtracks is, without a doubt, almost unmatched. What we hear here could be the OST for an entire game.
Track 7 at the end of any Iron Banner match (since they're all grueling) is like an absolution from pain and suffering and it's an amazing feeling. I love it. It truly makes me feel like an Iron Lord in training, walking proudly from another live-fire combat exercise, win or lose.
Thank you bungie, thank you for giving me more than a game to play, you gave me endless nights of laughs and tears, unbelievable joy and accomplishment, life long Freinds, and some of the best days of my life. Destiny was more than a game to a lot of people. I get emotional even thinking back on those days while listening.

Whenever I am in the plague lands I make sure to do a siva containment mission just to hear the absolute banger that is the rise of iron theme and get the feels that no other game can come close to. There is just something immaculate about the og destiny soundtrack. I will play through all of the regicide mission just for the music and entrance of oryx and his fight (although underwhelming) there’s simply no other game that can compare.
For anyone wondering why Misha wasn't credit, he actually was. I just bought the soundtrack on the Bungie store and it comes with a pdf with the cover for the soundtrack, the song list, and the credits. Misha is mentioned in the credits.

Nah, I think SIVA Swarm will be saved for maybe 1 of the first few missions. From the title of the song alone, I feel like it's gonna be the song you'll hear when you start seeing SIVA infected enemies for the first time

If anything would be the raid soundtrack(or in the raid at some point), it's definitely Siege Engine. I bought the soundtrack as soon as I saw I had enough money, and I'm just sitting here listening to it, everything's calm, and suddenly Siege Engine comes on... Jesus christ. Right now I'm on The Last Iron Lord
D2 has never felt as good as D1. some of the d2 qol improvements and loadouts feel better, but the endless questing and side quests, upgrades etc etc is far too overwhelming for a casual player
@@ezimoase3363 2016 gave us Rise, Taken Spring, etc. It was probably the most hope filled the game had been and it reached its peak in a few ways. We dont have any of that anymore.

Track 7 at the end of any Iron Banner match (since they're all grueling) is like an absolution from pain and suffering and it's an amazing feeling. I love it. It truly makes me feel like an Iron Lord in training, walking proudly from another live-fire combat exercise, win or lose.
This was the major turn point of Destiny.. Rise of Iron DLC. Good ol' times.

Whenever I am in the plague lands I make sure to do a siva containment mission just to hear the absolute banger that is the rise of iron theme and get the feels that no other game can come close to. There is just something immaculate about the og destiny soundtrack. I will play through all of the regicide mission just for the music and entrance of oryx and his fight (although underwhelming) there’s simply no other game that can compare.

Nah, I think SIVA Swarm will be saved for maybe 1 of the first few missions. From the title of the song alone, I feel like it's gonna be the song you'll hear when you start seeing SIVA infected enemies for the first time
theModernWarKid Maybe, though it is very likely that SIVA Swarm will be used more then once in the game like they did with the "Enemy of my Enemy" track in The Taken King (Enemy Of My Enemy and Last Rites Story Missions, Court of Oryx, Golgoroth boss in King's Fall).
theModernWarKid Iron Tomb (2nd last song) I bet will play at the end boss of Wrath of the Machine most likely (Since the 2nd last track of The Taken King "Last Stand" played when you fought Oryx, The Taken King in King's Fall).
Iron Tomb sounds every bit an endgame destiny boss. The low intimidating feel of impending doom reminds me of atheon.
If anything would be the raid soundtrack(or in the raid at some point), it's definitely Siege Engine. I bought the soundtrack as soon as I saw I had enough money, and I'm just sitting here listening to it, everything's calm, and suddenly Siege Engine comes on... Jesus christ. Right now I'm on The Last Iron Lord

D2 has never felt as good as D1. some of the d2 qol improvements and loadouts feel better, but the endless questing and side quests, upgrades etc etc is far too overwhelming for a casual player
Bungies biggest mistake is not carrying that same feel D1 had into D2
