Fishing Bizarre Exotic Fish in Florida's Canals

- I keep catching these Exotic Fish in Florida canals. I am trying to stock my pond with native Florida Fish like bluegill and largemouth bass. However anytime I go bank fishing in Florida canals I end up catching more Exotic invasive fish. check out all the fishing action we got into in this Florida fishing video.

The flowerhorn cichlid is a hybrid and has been found as far north as the panhandle. One of your fish was a spotted tilapia

The fish with the hump on it's head is a flowerhorn if I'm not mistaken. They're actually pretty expensive in pet stores.
It’s a Redhead cichlid, flowerhorn are hybrids and Redhead cichlid might be one of the mix, but it’s very similar

Do they live long with a air bubbler? Crazy idea? Wonder how good those cichlids would do as bait in the surf or from a boat in saltwater? Yea I know they'll die in saltwater but it won't matter. Actually work even better twitching etc during in the saltwater.

I live in South Florida, you can get that action in most canals, and they are everywhere. You see a canal just pull over and fish.

I thought you aren't allowed to catch and release invasive fish.
You can catch and release in the same spot. It is the transportation of non native species than can be illegal. Some species like snakehead they encourage you to humanely dispatch them on the spot if you catch them because of how invasive they are.

I’m moving to florida soon currently in Jersey heard there is box jellyfish there
We get moon jellies sometimes which are not a big deal, they sting but not life threatening. The one you have to watch for is Portoguese Man o War, they are dangerous and painful, but there are advisories for them so just stay out of water if they are in the area
