Bokimon Well I think we have too large population difference, a province in China may have more people than the entire U.S. and we have 26 provinces. And there’s always someone wired among us, imagine the kid always copying what you are doing. And the mainstream is never a good topic for news or videos, since it is actually more similar than you probably imagined, the difference and conflicts stands out in our perspective. This goes both ways, eg: people in China think western crime rate is unbelievable high, but the truth is always neither. The truth is either way too boring, or too fked up to been shown.

At this point? Dont bother buying gpu, if you are planning to build a pc Buy a ryzen apu like ryzen 3 2400g or ryzen 5 3400g. These two APUs are capable of running light to medium games, I have played rainbow six with ryzen 3 2400g (my friend's apu btw, we swapped for a while). Why buy this cpu/apu insgedsdtof gpu, well the gpus on the market are now having a ridiculous inflation I'd not care to upgrade to anything at this point and just wait until next year when the market goes back to msrp.
Also side node, the difference between the ryzen 5 3400g and ryzen 3 2400g, sorry if I got the wrong model but you can look it up, they both perform similarly on games, but the difference comes in when you are going to use it in softwares so it depends on your need if it's solely for gaming and on budget, opt for the ryzen 3 apu if you're willing or have some spare budget go for ryzen 5 apu. You can upgrade later down the line and it would be best to have 18gb of ram since it'd boost the performance especially on ryzen cpus

@@Danny_rox Honestly right now if want to get your monies worth you really need to purchase a entire pre-built gaming computer to get a GPU at a decent price. And its not going to change any time soon. Trump's 25% tariff is still on going. There is a on going silicon waffler shortage. Demand on production was some thing like more than 10X what was projected for the year creating a huge shortage and it takes time to ramp up production, experts think it could be another year before production meets demand. And normal is still going to be more expensive unless Biden drops Trump's tariff on all video card coming out of China.

I rolled the dice on one of these from Amazon, since I needed a video card and I was willing to bet $50 on getting this good a deal. The card arrived without any anti-static wrapping or protection at all, in a generic "GRAPHICS card" box with the exact same CD you showed. When the card arrived, it just flat out didn't work (blue screen on start), so I told the seller - in China - that it wasn't working and he said "okay, I'll refund, you don't have to send it back." In the end I can't really complain too much.

@@swiar_d7057 What actually happens is they set up a couple hundred of these in a crypto mining rig and just run them until they burn out. Eventually they upgrade to new cards, all the old ones get yanked, and nobody checks which ones do and don't work - they just throw them all up for sale and let support handle it. Some customers get a working card, some don't.

Honestly though, I wouldn't just the installation disc since it could have spyware on it, but if Matt had a burner PC, it should be alright.
Actually i had the exact same gpu that he buy and when you install the cd it dont boot the games, so that don't work but thanks for the idea
@@diegosanudo 🙂 have u already installed any games? did it install DirectX? NET framework? Visual C++? the hacked driver mite not be enuf, u mite have to manually install everything else or find a game that installs it, sometimes installing Steam & MSI Afterburner will install some of it.
@@MrSamadolfo i tried a lot of things and before having that gpu i had a gt1030 that was able to run those games, and yeah i have installed direct X NET framework and VisualC++ i tried installing the drivers, but of course it didn't work, and finally all the games that i run where from steam epic games store and .exe, also i always have open MSI Afterburner, if you wan't to know anything else just ask for it.

I was personally looking at that first ms paint image on the ebay listing for it and thinking seems like them and the GPU scammers are either the same or in cahoots to get more money off people trying to fix getting fucked on the fake graphics card

and now my 2nd pc has my older 750TI in it. which is also kinda abysmal. but hey... it runs some of the latest games altho on potato mode.
but games like escape from tarkov which is more reliant on cpu work great.

The second letter is probably a simplified version of 華 (in Korean, the pronunciation is /hwa/). I think I so this simplified version in some Chinese news footages that supposed to be 中華 (China). This letter also means 'beautiful' but in more ostentatious matter, at least in Korea.
The third letter is 宇 (In Korean, the pronunciation is /wu/), meaning a 'house' or 'cosmos'.
So, the pronunciation in Korean will be /ka hwa wu/, and the meaning could be a beautiful and splendid house. Probably something similar in Chinese.

WISH are TERRIBLE, and EBAY nearly as bad … if it doesn't carry a recognized brand, it's 99.9% going to be fake (though there is the odd far East brand that you might not have heard of), got to the point that I can smell them by the often somewhat peculiar wording, the very generic appearance - and the VGA port on a card that's got no business having one

I really hope that anyone buying stuff like this just starts a dispute with ebay and with credit card company. Especially credit card companies attack stuff like this pretty fast and reimburse any false purchases if the reimbursement process is started fast enough.
People need to stop buying fake chinese carp.
I personally think Nvidia should do more to warn people of installing a fake GPU and have the tools in their Driver installer to analyse the GPU and warn users that the firmware does that match the chip and that it has been modded and what the GPU really is and notify the user to seek a refund if it is not as described.
As someone who has had to work with older GPUs, the ram is likely not the only issue. Most newer 3d games use newer DirectX versions, and if the feature limit on the card is below the version the game is made for, the game will start to open and then crash.

Awareness is a great tool. There are a ton of these listed as 1050's and 960's for sale on eBay/Wish/Aliexpress and even seen a couple pop up on craiglist and offerup from time to time. Hopefully the more that people are aware of these posting the better.
Thanks for this video. I am currently building my first PC and looking for a "temporary" GPU like a used 1050 ti or 1060 on Ebay to get trough this whole crisis and after the prices kinda normalize again I plan to buy my final GPU. I hope now I don't fall for any of these scams but get a actually real GPU.

Matt - I know it's an old vid but... my best guess for BIOS chip is U4, visible extreme bottom left of shot at 8:14 - Winbond chip - AND NOTE THAT PIN 1 is denoted by the dot/dimple on the chip surface - if you haven't been aligning pin1 correctly with your clip you won't be able to flash. I've never flashed a video card but I flash tens of router EEPROMs ever day.
You definitely work for this video, I applaud that. And I gonna give you a good tip: mention the sponsor early but shortly, the brand and what business they are in, and tell people that more details is on the end of the video.
If you suddenly talk about the sponsor for a minute or two, people will just skip it (they are not ready for it, will likely feel it is intrusive) and the sponsor deserves better.
I suggest using "This video is brought to you by ..." to put the sponsor on viewers' good side. At the end of video, wrap the video properly and say once gain that this video is brought to you by ... and continues to details. By then people are ready for it and can choose to watch it if they are interested. Put a proper gap between end of content and the start of sponsor information, it is more professional and respectable that way, which in turn give more positive image for the sponsor.

EDIT: The card works fine and is better than my old 8800GT, so that's good. I even had a problem with it that was actually consistent with the RX 570's current deiver version which made games freeze on a single frame only when in fullscreen. Fixed my downgrading a single driver version

So like every GPU then? If it’s new, you think a seller is going to rip open a collectors edition Titan Xp Star Wars edition? Nope! What about a normal 1080ti? Well what’s the point when professionally photographed pics exist that show the card in an elegant studio photographed manner. Like your picture at best would look the same after setting up studio lighting.
If it’s used then sure, mostly just to show dust or if you cleaned it, but new I’ve never seen a retailer open up a new box to take a crappy photo compared to the stock photos for that particular model.
Also when I buy parts, they have the same stock photo on other websites, because it’s the stock advertisement photo from MSI/EVGA/Sapphire/Gigabyte/XFX/Galax/etc, like that’s what the stock photo is for, the manufacturer just has an album of stock photos for helping out vendors market and sell the cards (so that the manufacturer can sell more money to them, which makes sense for both).
I hate people who target non tech savvy people to scam their money or ruin someone’s day like one time I saw a counterfeit toy and a grandma bought it for her grandson and all I could think was, I hate that scammer and I also felt bad for the kid.

I was scammed by a guy in California selling counterfeit goods. I used Google Earth to locate his home which had his return address on the shipping box. He was doing business out of his garage in a very upscale gated community. I contacted the Home Owner's Association that ruled over that community and asked if they had business restrictions on private homes. They did, so I turned him in. Immediately after talking to the HOA I called the local police and informed them that this guy was selling counterfeit good out of his garage and told them about the HOA conversation. A few days later I called the police back to see if they did anything. They found that the HOA had gone to his house and found three families of Asians living there. They were renting the home from the owner, which was a big HOA violation! Within two days the families had cleared out the home and garage and left with no forwarding address. Anytime you're scammed by someone don't just say, oh well. Do something about it and try to save others some money or at the very least, report them to Ebay and inconvenience the seller to as large a degree as you can! That's probably the only punishment they'll ever get!

it mightve been a stupid decision but I snapped a 70 dollars rx580 and it actually works, it was a single out put dvi 24+1 port, didn't boot up at first, couldn't find a dvi d to vga anywhere, my heart was dead that moment when it didnt, it surprisingly posted after rearranging some cables since I was kind of careless. runs everything well, I mean I wouldn't recommend it but I think I got lucky

If i remember, based on what i read on some forums, the driver disc that was included in the packet was actually a custom driver, which will probably work well to the card. (CMIIW)

I expose somone for selling fake graphic cards and messaged him saying “hi why are you selling fake graphic cards” he messaged me 1 hour later saying “shut the fuck up this is real card no China shit this is real my friend”💀
He didn't go to more details to prove its real so yeah it's probably a scam

Bought a 1050, not a ti when i was younger and it ruined my perception of online shopping, lots of lawns mowed for nothing, basically scrap metal. i found out in the end it was a gf 6800. I had a gt-420 at the time, and appreciated what i had. im running a GTX 1660 super now and playing vr, didnt know it as a kid but im in the prime of my gaming, it ended well but at the time i was ruined for a while.

the vga port is legit tho, my old gtx 1060 6gb had one and i used it for my second monitor as it only had a vga port
