I remember using a similar effect when the colours were divided into ink's and paints - then you could simply add a style effect like blur to the ink in question. But you could not choose specific paints to blend into or more important not to. That could be very difficult to deal with at times. So thanks for this great hint!! Love the production experience you're providing with the video's. Could you make one were you specify the importance of dpi as a unit. Why it's there and what it would be like without it. Just to underline some discussions we have had on the Tahoma2D branch🤣
Can you make a tutorial on how to make a anime standard bg in opentoonz, a humble request please I can't find a proper guide ❤(I was rewatching your old opentoonz videos for a idea o how to make bg)

Do you know any of the Ghibli folks ? I would so much like to be able to open a memorable and complex scene in OT for studying the way they use the software. Camera moves, multiple layers, effects etc.. Like a shot from The secret world of arrietty where the family sets of in the kettle, with the fish swimming under them. I find the Dwango running mascot showing way to little of the actual capabilities of the program. In every way possible.
I was wondering how they do this. I was figuring out how I could recreate these effects so I can use them. Thank you very much my 1 month of curiosity has been sated.
@@hestedroschen retas is the first software that I knew about and there isn't alot of tutorials on how to use it and OT is much more complicated then retas for me
@@eganlawrence5325 I never worked in Retas myself. But it was one out of very few options in the end 90' along with Animo and Toonz. That all focused on painting hand-drawn animation scanned cells. I choose Toonz above the others. I know that Retas is more spread in Sweden than here in Denmark, where TV- Paint has a good grip among animators. But I don't think you'll find much help anywhere with Retas. But when Toonz went OpenSource a large community has gathered around it and you'll find all the support you'll ever need on the discord channels. Or facebook. There is a stopmotion branch of OpenToonz called Tahoma2D where we are trying to make the program more logic. Try to look that up, all the original features are still there just added stopmo. And if that is still too much try to sign up for animationpaper it's still under development, it's simple and very powerful, and free until released. But give up on Retas, my advice..
@@hestedroschen I don't what to do digital animation I like doing traditional drawing and I feel that retas is the best one out of all so I'll keep on trying but thanks for your advice

Ghibli films. And Studio Ponoc's Mary & the Witch's Flower was made in OpenToonz 1.3... Futurama, maybe Disenchanted (on Netflix).
I think it's also used by studio ponoc

Define a layer bigger than the camera! OT uses the camera settings as default unless told otherwise.
