just started learning animation, even though im confident in my drawing skills yets its like ive been presented a new whole mountain to climb up. Thanks for the tutorial and wish me luck on my journey!
Lol. It does feel like that sometimes. Have fun on your journey.
Man welcome to this world. Hope you'll have that fun which people call boring.
Glad I'm not the only facing a 90° incline of difficulties when learning animation.
Animation is a very cool kind of artistry to me because there can be good animators with amateur drawing skills and amazing artists with amateur animating skills 😂 but we are all on the same path to get better 😆

I've been trying 2d animation as a hobby and these practical exercises are a bliss! Thanks!
the wind hitting the other side a tad later is soo clever aaa
something like this has probably already been said but, for making it look natural smaller groupings of strands will be lighter and be affected more by the winds so you may want to exaggerte their flow and the may not fully settle between gusts, you could also split the hair into more sections, or if you want to put in the extra effort you could imagine the wave of air flowing accross and try to pick up strands as you'd imagine them being affected by the airflow, ofcourse this is alot more work so it depends on how important the flow is to the scene and how much time you have to do it.
Thank you for this tip!
@@THerscake_ no problem :)
I'm most of my way through an exercise project right now that this lesson would have been perfect for. I think I'll do another pass using this as the guide when I'm done for the added practice. Thanks Dong, these lessons are clutch!
I have been animating for awhile and always found this hard. Thank you for making this video, it helped me a lot. ✨💛
Thank you so much I never thought that a little overlapping action would change so much
I loved this video, I’m just struggling on this part 6:08 - 7:03 I’m got super confused, if someone can explain it in simpler terms it will help alot
The way I understood this:
This is a gentle breeze that moves rather slowly, which means that one side will be reached before the other. Therefore, movement on one side should start before the other.
To accomplish this, the animation from both sides is split into 2 halves and the frames in the half which is reached later by the breeze is delayed by pushing the animation frames of that half forward. This results in the effect of both halves being moved at different times by the breeze.
@@hej2800 thank you so much for replying, this helped a lot!

It would be amazing to have a tutorial like this for cloth wind animation. Keep it up!
Glade to be able to support.
I really appreciate these kind of videos, I know how to draw since little ok digital but never have been able to animate and One of my wishes is to make my own animated series for UA-cam
Great tutorial. It reminds me how crazy good the hair animation in the OP of Heavenly Delusion is. Although it might be rotoscoped or reference used in that one.
I have no business with Animation, But I enjoyed so much your way of explanation and the concept you are delivering !!Thanks.
Just found your channel. Would love more videos for beginners like walk cycle, head turns, and etc. Love this!!

I was pretty lazy doing animations.
I would basically just copy n paste and make my sketch and drafts messy, and it made me frustrated.
Watching this vid made me wanna redo all the ugly animations I did in the past
you saved my life thank you

You have unlocked 1% of my brain capacity

Thanks a lottt! This helped me a crap ton
Good method ,It's a bit complicated, you should watch it several times to understand but it is not a negative point.thanks
Cool stuff thanks for. Sharing
thank you, ive been looking for a tutorial
Great tutorial! Its really a lifesaver
i am having an issue and i was wondering if anyone had a similar problem: while doing the seaweed exercice, i feel like i cant keep the length of the seaweed consistent... due to the fact that it is always curved in some way, i find it difficult to estimate how long it is and therefore (especially when its has that s-shape) I draw it too long sometimes
... Gonna be drawing swinging seaweeds for days lol!
Lol, thanks! I'll use this for flags and such XD.
I am going to use this for flip a grid
PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS LIKE THESE!!!!

Hi! I’m new to OpenToonz and I was trying this exercise on OT v1.5 but noticed I don’t have the basics room (they removed it) and can’t put my arcs in pencil mode. Is there any way to have the same room set up as yours? Your tutorials are great! Thank you!
Edit: I found it and am all good. And no need for basics tab. Eager to learn more from your tutorials! Thanks again!
THANKS!
great video... very helpful!
Instantly like!
Sir, please make a tutorial on how to make blowing clothes and ripples when powering up
im so shocked this is only 10 minutes 😲
THANK YOU HOLY FUCK
Cool!
Yes yes thank you sir😁 ♥️
Thank u
your vid is very helpful ❤️
Thanks for the video bro.
Personally, i’m looking for exercises that move me more into “the kanada - school” type of timing and pacing, do you (or anyone else ) got any suggestions for me??
Or where to look for those??
Any advice will be much appreciated
Never been faster
dude can you do it using vectors?? it saves a lot of time ...........please make a tutorial about it........
Dong! Big fan! Can you do an interview on the Tonari Animation channel?
I got the concept down just need to fix up my lines and we good
Please could you tell us how to make a tree in open toonz I am new and I do not know how to use it in the application
I wish this was done on toon boom harmony
Where do you find this background musics?
Is animating seamless, repeating clothing rippling a similar process/principle?
I am also sure this process only gets harder with more detailed styles or even just longer hair too! If I may also ask, what is the most difficult or complicated hairstyle or type of hairstyle to animate and why? I understand if you would get in trouble if you were too specific, so you don't have to answer if you can't or don't want to. I am just curious.
or do it the saint seiya way where the hair moves like a current, spawning on the right and de-spawning at the left of the face.
idk if i can do this in procreate 😭😭
Obrigado pelo conteudo
Do you use a mouse for all the drawing or what kind of drawing tablet?
bro i can’t do it it’s so difficult
I just trying animation and can this method still worked on flipaclip? About overlapping frames
