Well done Tesla team and the car for putting you safe out of the traffic

Brian, there is NO OTHER CAR that will not only save your life but also save others lives by pulling over, turning on the emergency flashers, and call emergency services. My model S has saved me from collisions, not paying attention, pedestrians, hydroplaning, and more that I can remember. I genuinely don’t feel safe in any other car. I think that’s why Tesla owners are so loyal, we owe our lives to Tesla.

Thats is an incredible story. No one should ignore this. So pleased the chap appears to be doing well. FSD is one of the most important inventions to mankind. Good news like this SHOULD travel fast. Thanks for this Brian 😊

Yes, incredible, astounding and never done before. It will be interesting to see how this is covered in MSM, if at all. Rather mind blowing.
Congrats to Brian for making this public.

On a dark, drizzly night in August of 2022 going around a corner on a country road my Tesla FSD swerved half way into to on coming lane. Then I saw the guy in dark clothes walking in the road. That night FSD saved some guy’s life and saved me from hitting him. Paid for itself self in that moment even being “just beta”.

I also fell asleep while driving on the freeway. I had no idea the hormone drugs used to treat prostate cancer made me tired. Fortunately thanks to FSD, the car continued to drive while I fell asleep. After a giving time the Tesla started making a loud beep waking me up. Nobody got hurt and thanks to FSD the car drove safetly

I think we would be shocked if we knew how many auto accidents causing injuries, or death were caused by individuals falling asleep… appears that the Tesla may save many lives just due to this alone…

What does it do if you keep ignoring the nag because you're asleep? Will it pull you to a shoulder safely? I saw something a while back for another system that said that it will just punish you by shutting down the self driving if you don't respond to the demands to pay attention. So that's insane.

One morning not long ago my heart started to AFib. My wife was still sleeping and I didn't want to disturb her. So instead of calling an ambulance I just got in my Tesla and told it to take me to the hospital. Maybe not the smartest thing since FSD is still beta, but I figured if I passed out it would pull over safely and not cause an accident. I arrived safely at the hospital with no problem and was treated. Feeling fine now, but wearing a smart watch to show my heart rate.

I have a similar story. My daughter was commuting to the local community college. She was southbound on a four lane divided highway. As she approached the last exit from the highway for the next 5 miles, a police pursuit overtook her. The pursuit came up from behind from a blind curve. This gave her no opportunity to pull over. The person being chased crossed in front of her to take that aforementioned last exit, hoping to evade the pursuit. Unfortunately, the pursuing officer followed closely behind the suspect’s vehicle. Our 2018 Model 3 applied emergency braking, narrowly missing the rear end of the patrol vehicle. Had the Model 3 NOT applied emergency braking, the Model 3, would have impacted the rear left quarter of the patrol vehicle. Bear in mind this all happened in less than 30 seconds. She was so stunned that she didn’t press the dashcam button so we don’t have any video. Did the Model 3 save my daughter’s life? Hard to say. However, had she impacted the pursuit vehicle, all bets would be off. Draw your own conclusions, but don’t make ignorant comments because you’ll just demonstrate your stupidity. Both my wife and daughter drive Teslas for their commutes.

THIS is the type of advertising Tesla needs to run. I have a feeling it will completely change the way people think about Tesla. Right now, people focus on the negatives (cold weather, range anxiety, whatever). This type of story will wake people up to (probably) the biggest actual advantage of Teslas, which is safety.

Thanks, Brian! I was driving my M3 up the mountain to my house in autopilot. The night was very dark. No street light, absolutely pitch black.
Suddenly, in the middle of a switchback turn, the car stopped. I couldn’t see anything as the car creeped forward at walking speed, I was peering through the gloom and eventually spotted a pair of bare legs in the middle of the road about 20 feet in front of the bumper. A neighbor teenager with a backpack heading home.
Without autopilot, it would have been a mess.

I like the collision avoidance features in my Y. I don't think it's saved me from a crash yet, but I can tell it might. I jokingly say "yes dear" when it beeps at me alerting me to an errant car ahead of me.

Not long after I bought my Tesla five years ago, I was passing through a major freeway interchange, a few miles from my home and a person in a car that was on my left decided he/she needed to be in the lane to my right for some reason. I was in Autopilot in the through lane and the Tesla suddenly braked to let that bad driver pass in front safely.

While driving a rented Model Y on a two lane road a large furniture truck crossed far into my lane on a curve. AP detected the imminent collision, sounded an alarm and I think it initiated a rapid turn which avoided a potentially deadly crash. I can't be sure whether it was me or AP which started that turn but human reflexes aren't that fast and being 66 at the time, mine aren't as fast as they once were. In any case, I wouldn't have detected the problem in time to react without AP. I had my hands on the wheel, but was concentrating on making sure AP stayed in its lane. I saw the truck coming but it was in its lane at the start of the turn, it was in the outside lane and appeared to be under control so I wasn't worried about it. The truck must have made a very sharp turn at 55 mph to get that far into my lane. I have never had a serious accident in my decades of driving. This incident scared the crap out of me. I am absolutely convinced that AP prevented a very serious accident.

I own a 2018 Subaru Forester with the EyeSight smart cruise control. I was on a 4 lane road driving at 65 MPH in the right lane. A car pulled in front of me from the left and immediately started braking. Before I could reach the brake with my foot I could feel my car braking. It kept me completely safe as the car in front made a quick right turn. It's not as dramatic but it shows that every little bit of intelligence helps.

I once on a long pretty straight and w8de road saw the car in front of me start drifting of the road.
Luckily it wasn't a deep ditch, and he stopped without any harm done, half outside the asphalt paving.
The driver said he fell asleap and that it had happened before! (A man, about 40 and looking healthy)
I still remember the pale face of the driver meeting us. He obviously realized how easily it could have been a frontal collision!
    FSD will make us safer!

May I be added to the list of FSD Tesla stories and my experience in which without driving a Tesla I would have accidentally killed a older gentleman on a bridge that I had not seen coming around the bend at 100 km an hour on a mountain road in the interior of British Columbia
Very violently the Tesla moved us into the adjacent, lane
The car did not have time to stop and took adhesive measures on its own and saved. This man’s life continued down the road, like nothing happened other than the I was in shock At the near Miss
This car owes me nothing. I am so grateful and thankful for having owned my model Y.

I looked into the side mirror and initiated a lane change in FSD Beta as it was empty.
Seconds later, the Tesla jerked back into my lane as a speeder zoomed past me from two lanes over.
That could have caused a severe accident if the Tesla hadn't prevented it.

    1) An "electric-actuator", without "electric-motor" (aiming beam to target) will enlarge laser-kill-range. (Because: eliminates delay of "coil" and of "transmision")
    2) For Perfect Precision-Steering/Robotics
    3) Looking for 20 k$ investor/customer for "prototype-actuator" (better than I did in 2015)
    2 Designs for (fast) CAR.
The 2nd is either for supirior-steering
    Or for superior-mecanical-braking
    (All cheaper than existing)
    Following is the 1st one:
    1) Unique Valve for shortest Braking-Distance and supirior stability while braking. (Important for fast Passenger Cars)
1.1) My Invention: I have a (complete design of) low-cost Valve that will replace the 2 on-off solenoid valves (for each wheel, in the ABS)
1.2) Will create Brakage: 98% of ideal decelaration on dry-asphalt with paddels (wet-asphalt):
    2) Thus create the best ABS in the world, Reduce ABS size (more reliable than solenoid valve).
    3) Note: Today ABS use two On-Off Solenoid-Valves because Proportional-Solenoid is not good: Low-Reliability, and at mid position: the flow will be too high: thus, compell bigger-pump.
    4) Linkedin 67953574 : (2 files on the Valve)
    5) Dear OEM : I have 3 more files on the Valve...
