one of my fav Lynch tunes and dat solo is just epic
Fantastic! Its a cool cool track. Love the heavy to soft and quiet - that contrast always gets me! And yes, epic solo! Thats coming up Thursday! Yay!!! Have an awesome day Robert and thanks so much man! :)
I'm so lazy to learn this myself....it's easier to come to your channel and let you teach me 😂😂😂 thank you my brother!
😂😂😂 You're most welcome dude! My pleasure to do!!! Have an awesome day Noel 😃
Hahaha....you too bro!...and thanks for all the vids!
Just curious how do you prefer your action?
Hey dude, medium low - its usually not super super low, just a little above that 😊 Have an amazing day!
Finally got the tuning right ...it actually is standard tuning 427hz
Ah! Very very cool! I am gonna remember that - Pilson apparently said in an interview some years ago that they tuned to Piano pitch hence the difference in tuning. I guess it is 427 😊 Have an awesome day!
@@jayguitar you too
Are those Iron Maiden Albums I see there? Thanks once again for an Awesome Lynchtastic video.
Yep! 😃😃😃 First 10 Years singles - Maiden were the reason I started playing 😊 Really glad you enjoyed this one! Have an amazing day!
You are Amazing brother. Have a Lovely day.
You bring transparancy to George Lynch's riffs and his chordwork.
He is a real master of subtle orchestration. His guitar always sounds in a polyphoneus way.
He is an over the top advanced soloplayer, but his rhythm guitar work equals his shredding.
Still the absolute best source for Lynch lessons!
Thankyou Jay for this gift💯🙏
I suscribed to this and I'm a BASSIST!, But I encourage learning and supporting "DOKKEN" Music! Keep up the Good work! 3:)
Fantastic! Thanks so much man!!! Thats so much appreciated :) Welcome to the channel and enjoy the other videos :) Have an excellent day :)
I soooo love your page. Just an opinion? Playing this tune with the original recording is sketchy. Is George tuned between 1/2 step down and A 440? Please reply my brother.
Hey Mark, thank you so much dude! Much much appreciated!!! You're absolutely right - the tuning was in the middle somewhere :) I remember back in the day retuning my guitar to play along and then having to tune again when I went to something else! lol! Anyways, cool memories :) Enjoy and have an amazing day dude!!! :)
Errr tuning?
Essa musica que me tornei fâ da banda .
Excelente! Realmente contento que lle gustou e esta canción ten ese impacto en ti :) É unha canción fantástica e solitario incrible. Goza e teña un día fantástico !!! (Using Google Translate :))
Jay Parmar gracias jay !!admiro su trabaho aqui em brasil.
Great stuff JAY !Subbed and ready for more great vids, Cheers !
Thanks so much dude! Much much appreciated and welcome to the channel! Really glad you're enjoying the video! Enjoy and have an amazing day!!!
How cool Jay. Time is endless
Hey Jay.....I always wondered about your backing tracks? do you make them or can get them online....Have a great day.
Hey Arthur, I create all of my own backing tracks dude :) I just use them for the videos as I don't have distribution licenses so unfortunately can't share - but I will at some stage show I create them so that everybody else can do it too :) Have an awesome day buddy! :)
I am about a bazillion a years too late , but I really dig that t-shirt!! And the lesson is amazing too. Lol
Thanks so much Chris! Really glad you enjoy it 😊 🤘 Thanks about the shirt! Still one of my favourites 😃 Have an amazing day dude!!!
Thankz brother Jay! You frigging rock dude
You're most welcome 😊 Glad you enjoyed dude! Have an amazing day!!!
One of my favorite songs ever. This for me is a perfect song.... thanks so much for doing this video. The rhythm is actually quite easy, it's that huge ascending lick in the solo that's the killer.
Fantastic! Glad you liked dude! You're most welcome. And yes that ascending lick is the tricky one! Coming up in a couple of days! Wooohooo!!! Have an awesome day Mitch! :)
2 thumbs down vs 394 up with mine. I shouldn't have even take any notice really,it's not worth it at all!!!
Hey Nicolas 😊 So glad you enjoyed it man! Yes - always best to focus on the positives my friend 😊 🙏 🙏 🙏 Have an amazing day!!!
Standard tuning? Or half-step? (which of course changes the key..)
Hey dude, I played it half step down - I believe the band tuned to piano pitch for the album so it is somewhere in between half step and concert pitch 😊 Hope that helps. Have an amazing day!
I know I am late to the party but thanks for the upload.
Glad you enjoyed dude 😊 Thanks so much and have an awesome day! 😊
How are those line 6 guitar would you recommend buying one
Hey dude, yeah the James Tyler Line 6 guitars were great! They were build so well and the necks are pretty amazing. I was really surprised about how good this one felt 😊 Hope that helps. Have an amazing day.
Thanks for breaking this down Jay!
You're most welcome Craig 😊 Really glad you enjoyed it dude 😊 Enjoying playing it! Have an amazing day!
Hi, Jay! Thank you so much for this wonderful video. 80's Metal is amazing, and this is very useful to me. Keep up the great stuff coming!
Thanks so much Marilene! Much much appreciated and it's a pleasure to do these! So glad that it's helpful! Enjoy and have a fantastic day 😊
Can you explain the setup guitar for the George Lynch tone, i have a POD HD500 pedalboard. maybe some considerations you should take to get this tone
Hey Arturo, I'm afraid I don't have the POSD any longer - from what I can recall I used the Soldano amp model and Blackback cab (I think) and the analog delay with modulation. You're more then welcome to download the patch (which I kept) if you'd like to check it out. Its for the HD500X but can be converted. Hope that helps! Enjoy and have an awesome day - drive.google.com/open?id=1UqTkSq5j2qmDaOoUHBngTNxWGU8-a832 😊 🤘
Really cool Jay, LOVE the Keipro dude...remember first hearing this song on the radio in 1984-chills up my spine!!Keep up the great work!!
Thanks man! The Keipro is amazing.... We'll be at namm next week so new pix when I'm there and when i get back :) Into The Fire is a fantastic song - I can only imagine what it would have been like to hear it on the radio! I discovered Dokken in 89.... just as they were breaking up! lol! I used to watch all the rock shows on TV just to catch maybe a glimpse of one of their videos :) Have an awesome week Lance :)
You're so happy and I like it!
😃😃 😃 Thanks so much! Gotta do this with a smile 😃 Have an amazing day!!!
Nice song choice!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Jay, what kind of recording software do you use?
Thanks man! Happy New Yer to you too Karl! Wishing you an amazing and inspiring year dude :) I use Cubase to record and Pro Tools to mix. Been using Cubase for many years so find it quicker to track in Cubase :) Have an awesome week buddy!!! :)
AWESOME DUDE !!! season 4 I hope sleepless nights is on the list. Thanks for taking the time to teach us more awesome Lynch Bro!!!
It most certainly is dude :) I'll get to that song at some stage this year for sure :) You're most welcome for the videos - glad that you're enjoying them man! Have an excellent day!!! :)
Killing it as always Jay. Happy New Year dude, looking forward to another year of Lynch Lycks.
Thanks so much Corey! Happy New Year to you too buddy! Have a most excellent year and many more Lynch Lycks to come! Woohoo!!! :)
Awesome channel! Glad I found it! Thank you for making these detailed and thorough videos. Now if you could channel some of your talent my way, I'd be set! : ) Great playing! Thanks!
Thank you so much Brian! Much much appreciate it and welcome! I'm glad your found it too buddy! You're most welcome. Its a pleasure doing videos. I'll be channeling as much of this energy as I can my friend! Hey if we can share it and help everybody else enjoy it its a good days' work right? Have an amazing day and enjoy my friend! :)
Nice and clean. Great video as well, but I have to ask why you refer to the E and A chords as E5 and A5 when they are majors?
Hi Dennis, thank you so much - great Q as well. They are referred to as the '5' chords because they are cutdown version son chords - so rather then playing the 1st, 3rd and 5th tones of the scale to create the chord (major has a major 3rd, minor a minor 3rd which differentiates them) a '5' chord consists of only the root note/fundamental and the 5th (then the third note played in the chord is an octave of the root note). Hence they are referred to as E5 and A5 rather then major or minor :) Hope that helps. Have an amazing day :)
HOLY FRIJOLES! you did it Jay, thank you thank you thank you!! you are the best teacher in the world, love your work.
and thank you again for this tutorial!
Absolutely dude! I had you on the list - I'm so sorry I didn't mention your name - I just had you;re handle, 394pjo! :) But an absolute pleasure to do - thank you for the awesome request. Enjoy and have a fantastic week dude!
Thanks again Jay, what a way to start 2017. This is one of my favorite songs off of Tooth and Nail. You rock man!!!!!!!!
You're most welcome Todd! Fantastic! Glad you enjoyed my friend! Its a fabulous song and the guitar work is so excellent! Enjoy learning it and have an awesome week buddy! :)
Incredible lesson Jay! This song is full of challenges for somebody of my skill. Thank you again.
Really glad you enjoy it Gabriel 😊 🤘 Its an awesome one to learn! Enjoy and have an amazing day!!!
I'd kind of gotten away from some of this stuff since it sounds a little dated. But your videos have made me listen again and try playing. Thanks for all of these, Jay
Hey dude, thats very cool! I'm glad that the videos have bright you back to these songs! They are fantastic and its such a blast redoing them! You're most welcome for them. Have an excellent day and enjoy! :)
Happy New Year and great lesson Jay. I loved when they remastered Nightmare on Elm street 3 they added this song into it in a few places.
Happy New Year dude! Yes that was very cool when they did that! Have an amazing week buddy! :)
Love your videos Jay. I can't wait to start on this one. And this song is getting a revival as the theme music for NWA Power wrestling.
Thanks so much Chris! Really appreciate it man! 😊 phnads Oh cool! Its being played on wrestling now??? How cool is that! 😃 Have an amazing day man!
This is a fantastic lesson... Thanks....
Thanks so much man! Really glad you enjoyed it 😃 Have an amazing day Charles 😊
Standard tuning?
Hey Todd, I played this one tuned half step down. I'm pretty sure the album is tuned to piano pitch which is kind of in-between E and Eb. Hope that helps! Have an amazing day 😊 🤘
@@jayguitar Hey thanks buddy! Love your lessons!
Thanks dude! Much appreciated 😊 🤘
You have awesome tone....Can you supply the settings and what effects/amplifier so we can setup the tone as well ? Thank you
Hi Billie, thanks so much 😊 Sure - this is what I was using at the time - ua-cam.com/video/Bf7datORaqs/v-deo.html - I no longer use that setup though. I built myself a GL inspired amp which I use most of the time now - ua-cam.com/video/alkUlJsUfYg/v-deo.html - enjoy and have an awesome day 😊
Thanks for a great lesson. I love your passion for guitar and what a great personality you have!!
I am watching this with great interest as I'm learning it at the moment. I have found that using a dropped 'D' tuning is very effective for playing the main riff and even the acoustic riff is dead easy when using this tuning.
Hey Andy, very very cool! Thanks for the tip about the tuning! I'll try that out myself :) Enjoy and have an awesome day dude!!! :)
Thank YOU!
It's good to see you back in the feeds. I thought I fell through the cracks. Keep it going, this one took me all the way back to the highschool daze playing guitar.
Hey Jay,
Awesome!!
Thanks and Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year my friend! Thanks so much and have an amazing week Mark! :)
Such amazing videos, thanks for posting.. Lynch Rules!
What guitar do you use in this video?
Hey dude, guitars were a Keipro DS for the overdrive tones and a Line 6 James Tyler Variax set to one of the acoustic models for the clean tones. Hope that helps. Have an amazing day.
You Rock dude 😀😀😀😀
Thanks so much Christina 😊 Much much appreciated 😊 Have an amazing day!!! 😃 🤘 🙏
Always wanted to learn this! I just can't wait for the solo!! awesome lesson!
awesome! Glad that the video helped! Solo coming up this week! And its a great great solo - esp that fast ascending run!!!! Have a fabulous week dude!!! :)
another clasic from Dokken!!!yeahhh!!thank you.
Yay!!!! More classics coming up my friend - you're most welcome! Have a most excellent week! :)
Im late to the party but I have recently discovered your fantastic channel. I had stopped playing guitar for 20 years and seeing you play made me pick up the guitar again to try to learn some Dokken songs :) Keep it up it's amazing
awesome man..thanks! can you send me the backing track for practice? thanks!!!
You're very welcome 😊 Glad you enjoyed 😊 I'm afraid I don't share the backing tracks as I don't have distribution licenses. You can check out how I create them on this video though - ua-cam.com/video/jteNhfQfP80/v-deo.html - have an amazing day!

Good to see you back 🪶 brother
Hey man, how’s it going? Thanks and have an awesome day! p.s. check out some of the latest videos. You’ll really dig those!
This song reminds me of Dorosłe dzieci by Turbo. They have a lick that's familiar to this one.
And thanks for your tutorial.
Thats really interesting - I'm listening now and I totally hear it too! 😃 Thanks so much for the heads up about that! 😊 Very cool! Have an amazing day and you're most welcome 😊 🤘

👍🤘✌️👀💀☠☕️Lycks time
Woot woot! Coffee time!!!!! :) You rock Joe :)
Yes, on the opening E-C-D riff, he pulls off the C, and then the D chord on the 5th fret... not the traditional "open" D chord. Literally every lesson video plays it wrong. Nice effort tho, Jay.
Regards 🎸
Hey Scott - yep, you’re right 😊 I was always so into the live version that I used to default to the open D but like you said, on the album, it’s a D5. Have an amazing day man!
@@jayguitar Thanks, you too, Jay. 🎸
YAY. Thanks Jay... you rock dude!
You're most welcome buddy! Have an awesome week dude!!! :)
Hey Jay! Love your station! Whats that opening riff??? I love it!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoy it and really appreciate it 😊 Opening music is one of my tunes 😊 🤘 You can check out an extended version on this video at around 7 mins 20 secs ua-cam.com/video/8KyYw36P7xc/v-deo.html - enjoy and have an awesome day!
@@jayguitar great, thanks! Will do!
hello,great channel,is this standard tuning
Hey dude, thanks so much and welcome to the channel man! I played this one in half step down tuning. The Tooth and Nail album is tuned a little below standard pitch (maybe 432hz or something like that). My guitar was tuned to half step (which is my preferred tuning) hence I stayed with that :) Hope that helps! Have an amazing day!!! :)
You are one awesome guitar player and teacher. Thank you for your Lynch videos. He is one of my favs! 🙌🏻🎶✌🏻
Glad you enjoyed it and it was helpful 😊 🙏 Have an amazing day!
Great Lesson Jay love that Guitar!
Thanks so much Kevin! Much appreciated dude! Have an excellent week buddy!
Hey Jay where can I find the tab to this one . Sorry so late
Hey James, links to the Tabs are in the video description 😊 I have just updated them too do they are available 😊 Hope that helps! Enjoy and have an amazing day!
Yo Jay thanks I hit the hightail link the other day and it wouldn't open up . Any ways got it now . Thanks agine 😀
Been really getting into Dokken recently (🥲🥲 I unfortunately was born in the wrong generation;) and I’ve had this song stuck in my head all day! As an amateur guitar learner trying to make her way to the shredding top- I’m very glad to’ve found this lesson! Into the fire is such a Kickass song!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Glad you found it and enjoyed it. Never too late to discover music 😊 Have an awesome day!
Hey Jay, I'm very late, not just to see this AWESOME video and comment on it but also to the metal scene, haha I'm 20 years old I love playing guitar your videos are a rare find, I found your channel today and I learned this rhythm section thanks to you. You're the real MVP for making this video. I was wondering if you could make a video on Battle Axe by Quiet Riot... There's absolutely no breakdown video on that song and it's a great song that i think anyone who listen to metal or classic rock would instantly want to learn just like me. That is my only video request. I love your content and I hope you'll continue to make these videos because I'm very passionate about keeping the music alive and I know you are too. Thank you, Jay
Hey dude, thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed it 😊 Ah very cool that you're young as well and discovering all this stuff! 😃 Thats a very cool track by Quiet Riot. Right now I don't have any plans to do tutorial videos though (Lynch Lycks ended 2 years ago) as I have a lot of other videos planned I'm afraid. Enjoy the other videos on my channel - there are many tutorials. Have an amazing day! 😊 🤘
God, great job sir! You’re an awesome teaching instructor. 🙏 please.. stay safe during these crazy times we’re in right now. Cheers from the Sunset Strip West Hollywood. 🤘🤘
Thanks so much 😊 Thats very much appreciated and so glad that these are helpful and you're enjoying them! 😊 You too! Hope things are ok in LA and you guys are staying safe and healthy 🙏 🙏 🙏 Have an amazing day!
Excellent lesson, thanks Jay. You totally rock
really awesome lesson and such a great tune from that era. i don’t want to take anything from how hard you’ve worked but you also seem to have a very natural talent for instruction. thank you so much.
Thanks dude! So glad that you enjoyed it and it was helpful! 😊🤟🏼 You're most welcome! Have an amazing day!!!
Thank you. I know this song, but still feel compelled to watch your video. Lynch is the G.O.A.T.

Shure wish you would start Lynch licks agine really enjoyed and miss it now
Hey James, they were fun do while I was doing them 😊 🙏 I love what I do now and being myself though. That journey for me is very very satisfying. And it was time to move away from just focusing on George Lynch songs. Enjoy the others. Have an amazing day!
