I like how before the solo starts you can hear a hissing sound and some string rattling. Those amps were recorded loud as fuck probably. That's a marvelous tone.

a vaguely remember a george lynch interview where he talked about working the same music store with randy, and how they would kind of rip off each other's licks. the tapping sequence in 'flying high again' was originally lynch's idea, according to him.

Yeah, I paid $30 to see Lynch Mob and he threw down his guitar and walked out after berating his stage crew, because his rig wasn't working to his satisfaction. He has made a habit of tantrums about his gear and its *always* someone else's fault. Dude is a Class A dick and owes me $30 for my ticket, $5 for gas and the money I lost taking the night and next day off work.

I have always said it, and will continue to say it. Lynch is one of the most influential guitarist of the 80's. I put him right up there with Eddie, KK and Glenn, Dave and Adrian, Mick Mars, Jake E Lee, Paul Gilbert and all the 80's metal bands. His guitar work was not all shred and speed. He has this killer blues thing going and his use of the flat fifth (in his words "play between the dots) that made his technique and tone so tasty.

I think for those below that think George is horrible at improvised solos, you need to understand what he was saying when he thought he was really good at this aspect of guitar playing. George didn't mean "give me a chord progression and let's jam".. he meant "playing his solos live in an improvised way".. To me, there is no one better than Lynch at playing an 'improvised take' of his classic solos spur of the moment at a show..
One thing not to forget.. Paul Gilbert is the improvisation master.. he prepares for these types of jams constantly. He is basically a walking encyclopedia of licks.. He just calls up whatever is needed from his vast library when a jam comes along ;)
But, that's just my opinion.. What can't be argued is that George Lynch is a national icon of hard rock / heavy metal guitar.. Thank you George!
