      Hey Robin, Great video as usual, I might say your best brand battle yet! The real life test was a really good idea, I wish you would implement into other brand battles, like showing hair after a full day, how it holds up(for clays/waxes..), etc..
      Also, I suggest you do your last few brand battles for extremely popular products, it will really give you more exposure.
      P&P Putty vs Blumaan or ByVilain equivalent I'm not really familiar with their products.
      Fifth Sample vs a well known pomade.
      Love your channel and wish you all the best!

    i think you should way the points so things that are most important like finish and hold should be 2-3 points more than the other categories.

    • @ManForHimself
      @ManForHimself  8 років тому +2

      It gets messy. The points are more for face value and to keep a track. Still, one thing could be THE most important thing - i.e. 'Hold' for this one.

    • @TomTomDam
      @TomTomDam 8 років тому +2

      I think a better system is not to use a point system but to just simply put for each product what it was good in. For example put Tresemme at one side and Got2b at another side, and simply add bullet points or plus signs for the things each product scored/ did well in, because your overall verdict will be the most important thing anyway. You should just put what it's good in so people will take note of which product is better for what.

    good comparison video. i’m partial to got2b glued. as a alternative person who likes to tease their hair or want to try out spikes, got2b has the best hold i’ve seen on my stubborn straight hair to make it defy gravity

    Thanks for this video, ive used Tresemme for a few years now and its been great but sadly it seems like they have changed the formula as the freeze hold does not seem to freeze hold as well as it did before. It seems more wet.
    It would be good to see a new comparison video for these two with the new formula Tresamme as i am now looking for another freeze spray that is as good as Tresamme used to be

  • @LoveGaelic
    @LoveGaelic 6 років тому +6

    Since the formula changed of the TRESemme freezehold, it doesn't hold the hair in place any longer. Just as bad and low quality as a cheap hairspray now. It falls flat after a few minutes. Got2b is even better than that now. In Scotland (islands) with high winds, I used to be able to rely on TRESemme even at 50mph winds. It always fell into place. Now the hunt is on to find another one...not easy.

    i got a lot of hair on top (More than most) with the sides cut and tresemme freeze hold lasts a full 24 hours if you dont touch it its an amazing hairspray i suggest it highly. Wind dosent even affect it and you dont need to put a big amount on either and it dosent smell nasty either.

  • @burstfrenzy
    @burstfrenzy 8 років тому +1

    Robin, possibly.. Content on Thickening shampoos/conditioners for fine hair? Since you're into products that make hair fuller and add volume. I don't see any such content on UA-cam as well.. Tricky part is how the content is gonna be presented tho!

  • @XTR02
    @XTR02 9 місяців тому +2

    Don’t ever use Got2BGlue hairspray. I used this for about 6 months in 2020. After 6 months of use, I noticed my hairline became thinner. Since quitting the product, my hairline hasn’t receded any further. I later learned how it dries out your hair and scalp, which results in hair loss since you need to depend on natural oils to maintain healthy hair. The best thing to do is use a water based hair spray that isn’t anywhere near as toxic or low quality. There will be alcohol in most products but you want products that hydrates while maintaining a strong hold. I’ve been using minoxidil to bring back hairs that I lost along my hairline.

  • @nikhilsrl
    @nikhilsrl 8 років тому +1

    Robin, may be you should give different weightages for each factor, like for a hair spray more weightage should go to hold. That might just give a better result

    • @ManForHimself
      @ManForHimself  8 років тому +1

      It gets messy doing that. As you'll see from the result, I have given more emphasis on certain factors. The points are there to purely give some structure. 👌🏼🙌🏼

    What shampoo do you recommend? I'm currently using Kevin Murphy stimulate me wash and it says it contains Silicone Quaternium-16, but I'm not sure if that's bad for you?Because I watched a video saying the bad silicones end with a certain letters (forgot them).

      Nice! However, I heard that changing between shampoos frequently isn't good for your health.

      Hey! A lot of them have alcohol. It's a good question though. Maybe someone on here can recommend for both of us?

    What is the North American/Canadian Equivalent to the Tresseme Freeze Hold spray? We don't have that product here :(
    Our stores carry Tresemme products, but not this specific hold freeze spray
    Nor is it available on Amazon Canada or States :(
    Love this haircut btw!
