      It is slang used by people who are in he upper classes - so richer people who in the past would have been considered to be high class in society. Today we use this slang more commonly but in the past it was for the upper classes

    I know my onions it's amazing...Perhaps I finally found the right English expression to use instead of "I know my chicken"....we use in Italian "conosco i miei polli" meaning that we know how the people around us (colleagues, children, etc) are going to act or to react in a situation. Can I use it in the same way?

    • @LoveEnglishwithLeilaSabrah
      @LoveEnglishwithLeilaSabrah  5 років тому +1

      Hmmm not quite in the same way.. it is more about knowledge in an area of study or particular skills. But you could say when it comes to understanding people I know my onions as this seems to be a skill. Thanks Adelasia XX

    The dory is a fish popular with gourmets. Might a particularly good-looking specimen be a hunky dory....... ...? (Hang in there, the evening's still young🤪)
    Keep smiling 😊🍀
