Nibedita Ray great to hear from someone from a more modest culture. Most of the westerners think nothing of using foul language and analogies. This set comes with 5 bands of varying resistance, a storage bag, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxS7ex6L4sMqpaTn4LnBPyBmRQsSingL8y a small pamphlet with some sample exercises, and an access code for an online workout video. I haven't viewed the online video, so I cannot speak to the quality of that piece of the set. However, everything else is perfect for what I was looking for. The bands are durable, and the resistance strength varies enough between bands that they're each useful for different exercises and provide a great challenge as you gradually increase the resistance level for certain exercises. The only band I don't use very often is the lowest resistance band, but even that is nice for exercises that target weaker/seldom used muscle groups.
I was one of those guys who was a little skeptical about resistance bands at first (never put it down though), so did my due diligence. Came across James and his videos and he's got a lot of wisdom and knowledge on the subject. I ordered some bands (James' were sold out) and went through some workouts, incorporating his workouts into my regimens. This sh*t kicked my ass...no joke. The movement, etc. is totally different from traditional weights and it also incorporates more reliance on stabilizers muscles and ligaments, which in turn helps to develop better balance and coordination. Props to James for persevering in the face of all of these wanna be tough guy naysayers. Sh*t works, and that's coming from someone who has owned his own fitness business (certs, etc.). Perfect for the lockdown here in LA.
@@deanhenry4668 I'm 63 and cooking with gas. If you have problem shoulders be sure to try 'face pulls' with either cables/weights or resistance bands. They are a very good exercise for strengthening and correcting the shoulders, not to mention a great posture improver, but remember to use proper technique, i.e. you should be aiming to get your hands as far back as possible while ignoring the elbows. You won't get the full benefit if you only aim to get the elbows back because you need some external rotation of the arm, which is actually the part that helps correct shoulder issues. Jeff Cavalier on the AthleanX youtube channel has a good 'face pull' tutorial. Start with a weight/resistance that is easy and gradually increase the resistance. My shoulders were in a shocking state before I started practicing what I preached above but now I've recovered practically all of my lost shoulder mobility.

@@deanhenry4668 No problem Dean. The first thing I noticed when I started face pulling is that immediately afterwards, your shoulders feel like they're further back and your chest more out front. That's how they improve your posture, because they start addressing years and years of sitting round shouldered etc... which eventually causes shoulder impingement, which is a lack of mobility. Each rep that you do will take your shoulders a tiny, practically unnoticeable bit further back. That's the trick, i.e. slowly slowly catch the monkey, i.e. don't try and force anything and increased shoulder mobility will come naturally and without injury. Jeff says to add a set or two to every workout you do even if you're doing a split routine. Anyway, good luck with them Dean😉
I have really good effects- as a total beginner with overweight I was persistent and did these excercises as much as I could, step by step, I involved also yoga and I have a different body now...I commented on this video 3 yrs ago and I come back to share results ❤❤

Aloha. I just found your videos while rehabbing from hip replacement surgery. I needed something low impact but effective i scan do at home . I am stoked on your videos .really clear instruction and great workouts. Im already feeling stronger . I love the little tweaks on details to get the most out of body alignment
Aloha. This style of training is great when dealing with injuries, etc. Coincidentally I've had hip issues as well - broke my right hip in a car accident (along legs, arms, etc 😆). It's one of the reasons I gravitated more and more to bands through the years
@@JamesGrage One question: You recommend 2 sets of 10 reps of each exercise. Is it best to finish all the exercises once before starting the 2nd set or do each exercise twice from the start? Does it even matter?
I bought these a while ago and really did not understand why James thought this “under the sun” thing was so great. Fast forward the quarantine shuts down the gyms and now the local kids jungle gym is my gym thanks to the bands. I absolutely love working out outside. It is amazing. I did not think I would enjoy it so much. Thanks James, great product and great idea.

Man i just love your videos! I used to hear from other guys at the gym that It's not possible to get lean or gain muscle mass, but your videos really showed me the real fun of resistance band. Now who ever tells me that you can't gain mass, I give them an extra heavy band and tell them to do 20 shoulder press. Most of them fails miserably. Then i tell them to watch your videos to learn something from you. All the videos you've, resistance band or not, were very helpful. Keep up the good work. I'll be waiting for the next video of yours!

This is great stuff. Truly appreciate. I had actually decided to leave my gym pre-pandemic, because I was so tired of it always being packed with inconsiderate people. I've been building my home gym, but I can't afford a huge full set of weights ( nor do I have the space), so I ordered a set of bands. Can't wait to receive them and get to work.
I have to say you motivate the hell out of me when I see your RB workouts. I’m 57 and have been working out for at least 35 years and I mostly just did free weights,stretching and heavy bag training. I’m always looking for the next big fitness trend to come along but nothing has really caught my eye until these Loop Bands came along. I’ve watched all of your videos going over each body part and I started incorporating it into my workouts since this quarantine started. I started out with the tubing bands then moved on to the loop bands when I saw your videos. I really love the tension and contractions they provide. I get a great workout because I really focus on good form with each exercise. You also save a lot of time by just adjusting your distance or grip on the bands instead of constantly adjusting the weights on barbells or dumbells. Thanks for all the great information in your videos and for showing how you execute the movements with good form to really maximize the resistance and contractions.
I love these. You can take these to the gym and never have to wait on a machine or dumbells. If anything is taken I just incorporate it with a band exercise. I now use bands for 60% of my workout and I notice a positive change. One of my favorites is deadlifts and I notice a much better result vs weights. I also love the 1 handed chest exercises, and love doing triceps. The rear delt exercise is awesome too. For me there are still many things I use in the gym and I will never give that up, but these sure do work well and make things easier.
Perfect, this is something I needed. When I'm not home, I can't travel with weights, or have any time to go to the gym. Stuff my bags with some bands, and this will do.
100%. I actually took my set of Undersun bands with me to Peru, travelling with only a backpack (and I still had room to pack them, even while bringing my camera gear)

Great video....the whole idea in one's mind....is to do the "stuff" like you're using weights...but, just figure out how/where to anchor the bands. Then it appears to be just more/less tenseness.

Due to the rona I went back to resistance band training, making some solid gains and it really targets the core. Bought an entire go fit set for just $150 dollars. Love the portability and versatility of bands vs free weights.

@@JamesGrage I bought 2 bands in Italy last year and I stated using them right away and from the second time in use my body looked different in the y that muscles felt to grow in the way they actually should. now I have been using them since and taking a step back on weight. There's a ton of useful info here. I especially appreciate seeing a good set of exercises that don't require anchoring (which is enough hassle that many people including me will go "ahh maybe another day" and skip the workout). I love a simple workout you can just crank out at any time with nothing getting in the way. A bit like how they say you're more likely to play the guitar if it's in plain sight, than if it's upstairs in a case.

My Ex GF (wish she was not my Ex) got me a nice set of these Undersun bands a few years ago. Thank you for showing some moves, James. I like the bands more than weights.
Great video!! Only suggestion would be to mention or add flexibility for things like overhead squat since there are so many compensations that can exist in over or under active muscles.
Unfortunately undersun bands aren’t available in South Africa but these videos have been my guide for band workouts & it was how I found put about em 🙌🏾

Rich Knutson hey my friend. Since I normally do a split workout, focusing on just one or two body parts per workout, it allows me to do more sets per exercise and still fall within the ideal number of sets (total volume). Normally I do no more than 16 sets. With a total body workout like this there are too many exercises to do 3-4 sets per exercise. At 7 exercises you’ll want to stick with 2 sets per exercise

Perfect way to do dryland after masters swim at poolside . At 66 I have been doing dryland with therabands, slam ball, body weight and TRX. I love your way of explaining and resistance bands will add another dimension to my dryland. Last year I took 2 seconds off my 50 breast. This year, maybe another 2.

My brother has your bands, and convinced my to buy then and watch your channel. I had a maxed out BOWFLEX many years ago, and worked out every day. My wife wanted a family room. Not a workout room. I've lost 79 lbs in 7 months with proper diet. Started running 2 months ago. Today, I start working out again with your bands.

Man...got my first resistence band today. Found this guy. And did this exact routine by 5 sets. Only had one light 15lbs band, but still pooped. Out tomorrow to get another stronger one. These work outs are so effective. Thanks James

I noticed how much better my posture is when doing squats with bands as opposed to weights. The bands automatically sort your posture out.

Great video....the whole idea in one's mind....is to do the "stuff" like you're using weights...but, just figure out how/where to anchor the bands. Then it appears to be just more/less tenseness.
Mild Scoliosis? Check. Healed but untreated shoulder injury? Check. So out of shape keeping form was a work out? Check. But for some reason I keep coming back for more. You're a hero to all couch potatoes, sincerely

love it! I added some jogging, jumping jacks, or burpees between sets to keep the heart rate up, turned it into a metabolic workout. Very nice!

Due to the rona I went back to resistance band training, making some solid gains and it really targets the core. Bought an entire go fit set for just $150 dollars. Love the portability and versatility of bands vs free weights.

@@JamesGrage I bought 2 bands in Italy last year and I stated using them right away and from the second time in use my body looked different in the y that muscles felt to grow in the way they actually should. now I have been using them since and taking a step back on weight. I like ur philosophy on the free weights. Thanks again, Personally you helped me a lot. You are very knowledgeable!!!
There's a ton of useful info here. I especially appreciate seeing a good set of exercises that don't require anchoring (which is enough hassle that many people including me will go "ahh maybe another day" and skip the workout). I love a simple workout you can just crank out at any time with nothing getting in the way. A bit like how they say you're more likely to play the guitar if it's in plain sight, than if it's upstairs in a case.

Great video!! Only suggestion would be to mention or add flexibility for things like overhead squat since there are so many compensations that can exist in over or under active muscles.

Hi james thanks for posting this I've only just come across your channel , I've been fed up recently of barbell movements after 10 years of lifting and its refreshing to try something new which I can even do from home
I'm loving all the info with the resistance band workouts. They are helping me out a great deal. The one question I have is did you do your normal set and rep structure? 20/10/10/15? Or did you do something different? Thanks
Rich Knutson hey my friend. Since I normally do a split workout, focusing on just one or two body parts per workout, it allows me to do more sets per exercise and still fall within the ideal number of sets (total volume). Normally I do no more than 16 sets. With a total body workout like this there are too many exercises to do 3-4 sets per exercise. At 7 exercises you’ll want to stick with 2 sets per exercise

thank you your motivation on using band and I been starting to used band on my exercise instead of free weights. and i like the outcome.i am 61 years old Filipino from Philippines. do you advice do a whole bady work out or exercise with different muscle groups. i used to exercise in the gym with free weights when i was younger and i also started with using a bullworker. but would rather used the band. please guide me or advice me.

Perfect way to do dryland after masters swim at poolside . At 66 I have been doing dryland with therabands, slam ball, body weight and TRX. I love your way of explaining and resistance bands will add another dimension to my dryland. Last year I took 2 seconds off my 50 breast. This year, maybe another 2.

Hlias Vasileiadis hey my friend. Yes bands will absolutely help with power and explosiveness, as they allow you to do faster/more explosive movements without momentum robbing you of tension, like what happens with weights.
