This guy is the BEST DAD AT HOME WORKOUT INSTRUCTOR EVER!!!!!!….You showed me so many great exercises for my cheap fake Total Gym and now I’m learning bands!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for! I went ahead and took screenshots of each exercise and created my own handy chart that I can use during workouts to reference the exercises :)
Great video. A lot of those exercises are ones that Dave Schmitz has been promoting for years. They are a great option when traveling and you don't want to or can't take a lot of equipment with you.
Oh Mike. This is why you are one my favorite UA-cam channels. Just recently brought a set of resistance bands. Needed informative video just like this. Thank you !! Thanks for continuing to show how to get the most out of minimal equipment
Right on point. This morning I copied your style and did a few exercises on a mat on my back. Much easier to complete presses due to a shoulder replacement. Due to my height 73" I only wrapped the band under one foot. I will also anticipate your tube style exercises.
This is a brilliant video Mike. Thankyou! It’s amazing just how much stuff you can do with only a pair of loopstyle resistance bands.I think the big thing that I also took from your video - the versatility of location and using versatility of location to keep things fresh. Sometimes I’m guilty of associating ‘mixing it up’ with GAS for exercise equipment but definitely mixing it up and exercising in the garden, in the park, even the gym…. it keeps things fresh, even using the same equipment! Keep up the great work.
You’re right on there Tom. Sometimes it’s the environment that creates the workout and not the tools. I’m definitely looking forward to working out outside in the coming months.
Awesome video Mike! Mostly Undersun style - just grab the bands. No real need for bars or handles. Just a foot anchor or door anchor. For gloves, it's hard to beat the $7 Hardy padded goatskin leather gloves with the mesh back (orange, white and black).
Awesome video! Been an X3 user for over a year now and have gotten bored with the 8 exercises they give you. I was really looking to do some new exercises
Thanks so much. Not going to lie, even while I was making this video, I was convincing myself I need to do more of these exercises in a standalone workout.
@hybridresistance i had just gotten finished with the push day exercises and didnt use the bar. The overhead press without the bar is much more comfortable now. I added a few more exercises for the shoulders as well. I really enjoy your videos and the no BS approach. Thanks a lot
Hey, man, nice to have discovered your channel. I've only trained with bands since the pandemic, (I've never set foot in a gym again, and I don't plan to). I've been watching other of your videos and I think you have great material. I'm interested in everything that has to do with bands. As I once read in a comment somewhere on UA-cam: "bands are the middle finger to the fitness industry." Greetings from Argentina.
Great content. I was wondering if you have a Squat Band Belt that you can attach bands and are normally used for squats? I'd like to know if you can wear the belt upside down so the belt hooks are facing up and do overhead presses with it. This will help for those with a bad lower back/slipped disc and don't want to utilize the hole body as an anchor and just anchor from the middle chest going up. Will the belt ride up the chest or will it stay put while pressing up?
I actually am meaning to make a video on that on how you can perform those exercises with a band. But one simple solution would be to check out my vector athletics belt review as I find that is very comfortable for people with low back issues.
My neighbor makes them and I sell them on the website. I've got a bias, but I think they are the best looking and hands down the most quality handmade footplate out there. Loop band version will be coming soon.
Yes, you'd be risking it a bit. More so I'd say with the tree trunk. I stood on bands plenty of times on concrete with no problems. The biggest issue is friction and sharp edges / rocks.
I wouldn't say I always get sore when using bands in general. Just depends on how much weight and how much total volume I'm doing. Although I will say as I've gotten older, getting sore seems to come on more frequently for sure.
How many reps usually for most of these exercises especially for beginners? An what are your thought on Kangfiter bands? Thanks an await your response😊
Somewhere between 10-30 when you start to get to failure of fatigue at a slow cadence of 3sec up 3sec down. Here's some recent videos you might find helpful. One is my favorite 5 band exercises ua-cam.com/video/VptgaJYH56g/v-deo.html the other is a simple program using those exercises ua-cam.com/video/pMD6mpimt58/v-deo.html I can't speak to those bands though because I've never tried them
Great video Mike. Would you take a look at the German made fabric resistance bands Flexvit. They are supposed to be more comfortable than less risk of injury if they break.
Seems very expensive, and no spec on the resistance. "Strain" (extension ?) limited to 200% on the lighter bands, 50% (not enough) on the heavy band. I will continue to live dangerously...
The weight part is going to be your diet, but yes I think bands can be a viable way to build muscle. I'd personally recommend using some free weights alongside though.
Just got some loop bands yesterday. I’m a bit nervous about using them because idk how far I can stretch them without them popping. How do I get over that fear?
Aside from getting a quality set and checking for cuts, the next thing to be safe is avoid exercises that anchor the bands over your head or behind you. One of the reasons I like using a footplate is because it's one of the safest ways to bands. If an accident does happen, it likely snap at you.
@@hybridresistance well I just got some Bob and Brad resistance bands. I guess they’re the best physical therapist in the world and I was told they were good. I saw a vid of them using their feet as anchors. Is that safe to do?
Thanks for this great video. Although I have been training with bands since for almost 7 years, I still learn some new stuff and I will definitely try to incorporate some of these exercises. I think that I will especially incorporate more and more exercises sitting or lying on the floor. If I may share my own experience, I would recommend you to try the eccentric overload. Bands are great for that. I don‘t do it every time for every movement, but it’s an awesome intensity technique. If you want some examples, have a look on Kassem Hanson’s channel, for instance these videos : watch?v=MmSGNsD4A8U and watch?v=PBpyq4Qa-R4 (the first week I started to implement such techniques, I had to sleep 9 hours instead of 8).

To kind. Thank you so much and God bless you
Had 62 degrees today here in the northeast. Opened up the garage gym today. What a great workout.
Let’s hope we can hold on to some of this warm weather

That's awesome to hear! Very happy to hear the video was useful. Feel free to let me know more videos you want to see.
That's genius
Great to see these done outdoors, with no special mats, etc. Very helpful exhaustive list of exercises. Mega thanks!
Thanks so much. I'm planning on going outdoors more in future videos.

No problem brother. Very happy you found it useful
Mike, thank you for these videos. I have been having a slump with my resistance bands so thank you so much!
No problem at all. Very happy it was helpful to you.

Do you have a link for those gloves?
Great, thanks for adding that Parker
To anyone who question's what type of workout you can get with just a good set of bands, here you go. Another home run Mike!
Thanks so much. Always good to hear when you enjoy a video
Excellent video. Could you do a video some time on your band grips for those exercises? I’d like to get a closer look.
Thanks!
That’s a great question I will look into that for sure

Thanks so much for the comment and awesome to hear how you're using bands with so much success. Great to hear from people in so many countries.

Outdoors in nature, and enjoying the great weather.
Have some fun!!!
I’m taking advantage of every opportunity I can get. Hopefully I’ve used my space heater for the last time this season.
Did you make that foot plate? This was such a. great, helpful and detail filled video. ❤️Would love to see a loop band version. 💪🏻
My neighbor makes them and I sell them on the website. I've got a bias, but I think they are the best looking and hands down the most quality handmade footplate out there. Loop band version will be coming soon.
Great video! Would love to see a video on the best tube style as well
Will do! Thank you for watching
I like doing this outdoors and, yes, would like a similar video using tube bands. Thanks for a super good video!
I have bodylastics tubes and would love a tube video. Yes please🙏🏿
That will be coming soon!
Good afternoon Mike, I would like to see a video on Bullworker exercises utilizing the ISO flow as well.
That is something that is coming in the near future
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
No problem, thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing this, useful guide. Can i ask what length bands you were using and how tall you are, just trying to gauge for myself at 6'1
Thank you. I’m 6 ft using 41in bands
I just bought the Robus Handles they'll be here tomorrow I hope they're good
Let me know what you think about them.
@@hybridresistance I definitely will let you know
OUTSTANDING VIDEO. What is that tool that you are using to attached tge bands to?
That’s just a product put out by clench Fitness. I also put some resistance band anchor points on my Amazon page as well.
Good stuff
Is it OK to use the bands on the concrete and tree trunk directly or do you risk tearing them?
Yes, you'd be risking it a bit. More so I'd say with the tree trunk. I stood on bands plenty of times on concrete with no problems. The biggest issue is friction and sharp edges / rocks.
Could you compare silicone vs. latex bands?
Recommendation on gloves to wear with bands.
I will look into that. Thanks for the suggestion.
Can you please do a tutorial on how to properly execute the X Press? I tried and I couldn't wrap the resistance band properly.
I'll have short video coming very soon either tomorrow or Monday for you.
Do you always get sore from the X3 bar or the resistance bands workout? Or you get used to it?
I wouldn't say I always get sore when using bands in general. Just depends on how much weight and how much total volume I'm doing. Although I will say as I've gotten older, getting sore seems to come on more frequently for sure.

Can resistance bands alone can help me lose weight and build lean muscle ?
The weight part is going to be your diet, but yes I think bands can be a viable way to build muscle. I'd personally recommend using some free weights alongside though.

Can you provide a link to the footplate you use in your videos. To clarify, the one your neighbour makes.
Here you go slidingbenchtrainer.com/product/mac-board-homemade-high-quality-board/
How many sets and reps do you suggest?
I'd say roughly a rep range of 15-30 that get you to about failure for about 2 sets is a general recommendation I personally use.
Back squats with Blue Ropes and Harambe system - Anyone can get into position with these.

Thanks for the feedback. Might do that on the next one.
