My mum was from North Yorkshire, a small village called Ugthorpe so spent most of my childhood at Whitby, Sandsend and Robin Hood Bay. A beautiful part of the UK.
My older sisters were born in Whitby, as my parents lived there in the 70s. He was a youth worker, and my uncle owned the Black Horse on Church Street for some time. I went to Robin Hood's Bay once or twice in the 90s and it is pretty but steep.
How lovely! Thank you both for sharing. It truly was such a beautiful place, and what a place to call home. We love it here and are so thankful for the opportunity to explore and learn. We appreciate your time commenting and watching. 🤍 Jess x
A half a century ago I went to boarding school above Robin Hoods Bay, watching you guys drive the almost exact route we used to take every weekend to get to church in Fylingthorpe and then escape down the hill into Robin Hoods Bay was a real nostalgia kick, with wonderful memories. So many of the buildings are exactly as they were then. I have lived in many place and countries so far in my life but this area (and Yorkshire as a whole) will always be where the heart is. Its wonderful to see you guys finding gems like this in the UK -
How lovely to bring you back down memory lane. We definitely loved exploring Robin Hood's Bay it's so beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us. 🤍 Jess x
The good people of Yorkshire claim that their county is God's own country. It is well above my pay grade to confirm or deny that, but it is spectacular and the Vikings certainly loved it. I love your positivity and enthusiasm. Lovely video, thank you.
It was quite spectacular up there, I must say! Something quite magical all over the UK to explore and experience. We definitely love and appreciate it all! We are definitely trying to make the most of our adventures and spread kindness and love. Thank you for the love! 🤍 Jess x
What beautiful sky, and the landscape is becoming different in a subtle way as you travel north, but still magnificent to my eyes. The journey, given that beautiful scenery is never boring. Robin Hoods Bay is very different and can be a challenge to the knees. I hope that you enjoyed it - and a happy anniversary to you. Cheers ! Sheffield South Yorkshire.
Oh, yes, the sky and landscape were so beautiful. Always something beautiful and magical to see here! I agree hard on the knees but so worth the trip down and back up. Thank you, friend 🤍 Jess x
Nice to see it in the sun, last time I was there it was pouring with rain. I didn't stay long as I'd just walked there from Whitby and was cold, wet and tired so I went to the pub had a drink some food waited until I'd warmed up and took the bus back to Whitby. I keep meaning to go back, haven't got round to it yet though
Lovely video's. The Peak District is a blessing to us that live close to it and is aleways changing with the different seasons with no two visits being the same. x
You guys are creating the most amazing memories to take home with you. Congratulations on your anniversary. A lovely way to spend it and the sun came out for you as well 😊☀️
We all talk about that often and just how thankful we are to be making them. It's just such a wonderful opportunity and adventure we have had so far. Thank you for your kindness and support. 🤍 Jess x
I agree! But, perhaps even more so, they are so good at capturing the mood and atmosphere and details of wherever they visit - not just the money shots. With Jess and Chris, you really feel you are there with them.
So glad to see you visiting Yorkshire and the Yorkshire coast. I hope you enjoyed your visit or are still enjoying it if you’re still in Yorkshire. Robin hoods bay is a very popular spot in the summer, less busy out of season, but on a nice day like you had here as equally nice. There are so many places to visit on Yorkshire coast that you’d need a week to have a good look around, one place in particular and similar to Robin hoods bay is staithes, about 16 miles from Robin hoods bay. Yorkshire is such a big county and so many varied landscapes that it’s definitely worth many return visits. Enjoy your anniversary today.
We had such a lovely time exploring Robin Hood's Bay! We can't wait to make our way up there even more in the coming months. We truly love all of our adventures here. We truly appreciate all your love and support! 🤍 Jess & Chris x
You can eventually go home and in 40 years, 60 years or longer if you have a long life. Then come back to England and find those buildings still here. So much inbetween and yet good old England changes little. Happy Anniversary to you both.
That old car you saw was a Rover P4. My neighbours got one in the same colour. All of the Yorkshire coast is stunning. South of Scarborough & Filey it's very different with huge sweeping beaches. Inland from Robin Hoods Bay & Whitby you've got the North Yorkshire Moors and Goathland famous in the UK for a TV series called Heartbeat based on the life of a local policeman. Then further West you've got the Yorkshire Dales made famous by the TV series All Creatures Great and Small. You can't go wrong in Yorkshire.
Lovely, we have so much more to see up in Northern England and Scotland. We are so happy we got to see Robin Hood's Bay! Was such a beautiful day. I have just started the TV series All Creatures Great and Small. Thank you for sharing your time with us! 🤍 Jess x
Sorry, but you are mistaken about the car. It's actually a Sunbeam Talbot 90, a much rarer and sought-after sports saloon that was in its day a successful rally performer.
Wow! It's true. Americans think that 100 years is a long time and the British think that 100 miles is a long distance! A big day trip and congratulations on your anniversary. Thanks for the Robin Hoods Bay photos, I have been many times but my knees would not let me visit again!
Patrick, It's funny, but so true, my friend! We definitely had such a lovely time. I also suffer from horrible knees. I have had a parcel knee replacement already. I hope you enjoyed the adventure with us, dear friend! Happy Saturday 🤍 Jess & family x
Fantastic location, I'm glad you're enjoying England and loving your videos. Please visit Dartmoor in Devon and Boscastle inCornwall before you go back and check out the witches museum in Boscastle. You won't regret it at all. @@DaydreamersBarn
My neighbour did a walk that ended at Robin Hood's Bay. They had to climb back up to the coach that was bringing them back with a backpack on. It gave her some trouble for a few weeks after that.
Fabulous video. Excellent camerawork. Such a pretty place. I wonder how people react when they hear your accents. They must be fascinated. It's really rare to meet an American in the UK. Keep up the great work.
Oh, we're so glad you enjoyed the video. We love traveling around the UK and learning as much as we can. I have had one person say the love my accent.. 😂 Also, I love sharing joy with you all. Thank you for your comment! 🤍 Jess x
The walk from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay along the cliff edge coastal public footpath is epic. The footpath forms part of the Cleveland Way and the walk takes over 2 hours. The views are stunning. I got the bus back to Whitby. So glad you took up my recommendation to visit Robin Hoods Bay.
Congratulations on your anniversary. That was quite a journey for you but looked to be well worth it. All these villages have their own character. I didn't envy you having to climb back up all those steps. A great cardio workout. I thought that Lyme Regis in Dorset was bad enough but at least there, the agony is shorter. Thank you for sharing.
Happy anniversary ! I'm intrigued as to where you are visiting today ( Sunday ). If you are over on the west coast here in the Lake District I hope the storm force winds don't upset your visit ! All good wishes from the Cumbria coast.
We had a lovely time exploring Robin Hood's Bay. Unfortunately, on Sundays trip, we didn't go up north. We went to a place we had already visited but the kids wanted to go. We do have a trip planned to the lake district very soon. I'm so excited to see all the spectacular views and sights to see. We appreciate your time. 🤍 Jess x
We agree with a beautiful place. We could have, but unfortunately, that cost a lot for a family of 4 and 3 dogs, sadly. I was unable to find a full-time job here, unfortunately. So we make the most of our day trips as we can. We do take weekend/ week trips just much further away. We really appreciate you sharing places to visit. 🤍 Jess x
Hi Jess Chris if you want fog lol try the Welsh mountains in October I live on one and see fog loads of times a day let alone a week in autumn If your traveling up north from the southeast instead of getting stuck on the M1 motorway maybe a faster less crowded route is the A1M through Scotch corner. A1M has less traffic than the motorway. When going north everyone goes M25 M1 M6 north best routes is M25 A1M its mostly dual Carriageway so same speed as motorways but less traffic Best fish n chips in the uk one can eat is close to the sea or in seaside towns especially ones that have a fishing port. The fish is usually very fresh. Sometimes its a matter of hours from sea to plate There arw villages and towns all over the uk that have small cobbled streets and paths. They are typically uk lol. Its so nice to see Americans come to my nation and actually get out of the city of London. The uk is so much more than London something most Americans dont realise!
I completely understand and can imagine the fog. Thank you for the different routes to travel. We greatly appreciate the advice. We agree that fish & chips next to the sea are a win! We really appreciate you sharing your time with us, friend! 🤍 Jess x
Hi family , yes it was very foggy here in Kent where I am . I absolutely love these old villages with the stone buildings winding narrow streets so lovely reminds me a bit of Cornwall where I used to go as a child for our holidays , I hope to travel around the country a bit more and this place will most certainly be on my list its beautiful 😊❤.Happy Anniversary
Hiya, It was so foggy on the 18th as we crossed the bridge was so beautiful. The small roads and beautiful buildings/ homes just make my heart so happy. I love checking out charming places people call home. We're so incredibly grateful we had this opportunity, and the kids wanted to come with us. Thank you for all the love! 🤍 Jess x
Just back from holiday, and I see a few videos to catch up on! Great to see you up here in God's Own County, and loved the video! That whole coast, from Flamborough to Redcar, has SO many lovely villages and towns and amazing scenery. You can walk all the coast, on the cliffs. Staithes is amazing, too. As is Whitby - even if nowadays it is choked with tourists. Ravenscar (on the big headland across the bay) is the end of the Lyke Wake Walk - check it out? Still much the most atmospheric long-distance walk I have ever done (four times...) in the UK. One of my most evocative memories was the first time I did that c.40 mile walk. Walking up the long hill to Lilla Cross, back in the days when RAF Fylingdales (you drove through Fylingthorpe), a BMEWS station had the three "golfballs", as the eerie afternoon mists were starting to swirl. And contrasting the wide, lonely, big-sky moors with what we knew went on, intently watching the screens, inside, on the hillside across the valley. And still does - I know very well someone very much at the sharp end in there, keeping us safe. Congratulations on your anniversary! And so glad you found some great weather and such a lovely place to share with us. ❤❤ ps. Its quite a hill back up to the car park, isn't it!
Adrian, We hope your holiday was full of fun and lovely memories. We truly loved traveling further north this past week. We always love beautiful coastal villages. They truly offer so much beauty and charm. We will definitely have to look into scheduling to see if we can make that hike. I'm sure it would be such a lovely adventure. Did you wildcamp!? I'm sure you have so many memories and insight to share. We really appreciate your love friend! We love sharing our lives and love with you all! Thank you 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary! Many years ago we had such thick fog I had to drive at a crawling speed with the door open to locate the centre white lines with a torch to get home. i have never seen fog that dense since. 13:26 is so narrow you could stand in your doorway and knock on the one opposite. Do people actually live in 15:06, as it is incredibly narrow. Not been here, very nice. Great tour.
Thank you, friend! Wow, that had to be very intense fog! I did see people living in the homes. It would definitely be interesting living there it's very beautiful and a great workout. Thank you for coming along with us on this lovely adventure, friend! We appreciate your kindness 🤍 Jess and
Thanks so much! We truly love it here and the opportunity to call this home! We're so glad it comes through in the videos. We just have so much appreciation for this beautiful country and love to spread our love with others! Thank you for the love 🤍 Jess & Chris x
I have been to the States a few times and the number of British who think you'll see all of just even one state in 2 weeks is incredible . The smallest like Rhode island perhaps. I drove in Apple County WS to see a friend and was literally driving in an Orchard for 2 hours. Anything over 100 miles and we think it's an expedition 😂
Oh, I agree there is just not enough time in our many years to explore both beautiful countries! Yes, over 100 miles is looked at totally different here in the UK than in the US. We love to road trip and explore. Thank you 🤍 Jess x
I love Robin Hood's Bay, it's so gorgeous. It felt like hiring a time machine to go back 400 years and everything was the same. Also those steep streets nearly killed me, I think you would become quite fit if you lived there though. Whitby just up the road is lovely too 😀
Same, we loved it as well! Would love to go back in time as well. It is definitely a hike down and back up. It's well worth the trip and good workout! Would love to live anywhere here in the UK! I just love it so much. 🤍 Jess x
Hi i'm a Mancunian and am wondering have you ever visited Manchester ? , there's loads to do and it's packed with history and things to interest you all , congratulations on your 16th anniversary ( me and the missus are at 36 years now ) , another great film , thanks'
We have yet to explore Manchester but are definitely planning on making a trip. Thank you for the time you shared with us. Also, congratulations on your 36 years together as well! 🤍 Jess x
Robin hoods bay absolutely beautiful a pint in the Smugglers Ale House then up to Whitby for fish and chips yum yum.Jess I remember those fogs (black fogs) well, where you can’t see your hand in front of your face.
It was such a lovely experience in Robin Hood's Bay! We will definitely be back up to explore even more and get some fish and chips from Whitby. We've been told they have the best... Would you have a place there you would recommend for Fish & Chips? The fog was crazy on Oct 18. We appreciate your time sharing with us! 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn The Magpie cafe fish and chip shop yum yum .Then you must go and see the Whitby Abbey.Thats where Bram Stoker got the inspiration to write his book Dracula.
Hiya Jess, Chris, Colette and Shane 👋, many congratulations on your Anniversary my friends. The 18th was slightly foggy for me on the South coast but cleared to a beautiful sunny sky with 20c which is crazy warm for October. North Yorkshire is a beautiful county and I know that Whitby is very well known for its fish and chips and Count Dracula 🧛♂️. Great to see you all together again my friends for this fabulous trip. Happy Sunday and see you soon, many thanks xx ❤ ❤
Stephen, Thanks for the well wishes for our anniversary. It was a great day, for sure. With how thick the fog was, we could only imagine it was covering quite a distance. I didn't know about the Cou t Dracual bit, sounds interesting! Happy Sunday to you as well. Cheers, Chris
@@DaydreamersBarn In the book - Dracula - written by Bram Stoker in 1897, the ship, Dracula is sailing on, runs aground at Whitby. Whitby is about 5 miles up the coast from Robin Hood's Bay. Lovely vid. Happy Anniversary!
I've been to Robin Hood's Bay many a time, it's lovely. My father used to go there every year as a child, he had relatives in the area, but when he first took us to show us the caves where he played - they had disappeared completely because of erosion only forty years later. They now limit the number of cars going down those very steep hills in the village itself I remember when they didn't and it was hair raising! It's best to park at the top of the village in the car park and explore it on foot! I wouldn't like to make a hill start on some of those steep roads! I always wonder how those who live there get things delivered or how they move house from some of those houses on the steep streets! You are right about some of the gift shops being closed, it is most likely because the holiday season is at an end. Shame on the person who dumped those two traffic cones in the stream! Glad you call the North Sea "the sea" and not "the ocean" most Americans get it wrong!
Robin Hood's Bay was beautiful. It's such a shame that the erosion is getting so bad. I'm sure your dad was sad to see the cave gone. I definitely understand not sure how they move house or get deliveries. That's a very interesting thought. I definitely wouldn't want to drive up or down. I did drive down my car, and it would be stuck. LoL I'm not sure about the cones in the stream, unfortunately. We're so glad you enjoyed the day out with us, friend. 🤍 Jess x
Oh, how lovely. We really enjoyed exploring Robin Hood's Bay. We're right now planning our return trip to Scotland right now. We just love living here. 🤍 Jess x
Oh, we love to travel as you can see. We just hop in the car and find a destination, and let's go kind of out look we have. We will always have fun no matter what because we're together. We love sharing our love and appreciation for the world. Thank you for your time. 🤍 Jess x
That was a lovely video and you guys are in one of the best counties in England. I would highly recommend heading up the coast to Holy Island, aka Lindesfarne and you'll see the beautiful Northumberland coast. On the way you could wonder round Walkworth Castle which is a great example of an English Castle. Another place that's not far from Harrogate is Aysgarth Falls which is where they filmed Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.
Another excellent trip out. You picked a great spot. How were the fish and chips? And was the car a 'runner' and did you make an offer? It is funny how quickly the kids are growing up. They'll be driving soon! If you were here a bit longer they could drive you both around. Stay well, safe and keep spreading the joy you do. 💙
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, as did we! Fish & Chip, very yummy. Car was a runner, but asking more than we can spend, unfortunately. The kids are growing up too fast for my liking friend!! I'm sure they would love driving here like Chris and I both do. We appreciate all your support! 🤍 Jess x
I live in Whitby about 20 minutes away - Robin Hoods Bay is beautiful ❤️ I used to work in the first fish and chip shop you passed (Fish Box) in the ice cream kiosk 🍦 gorgeous pic of the kids ❤ and you 2 of course ❤
Oh, how fabulous! I just love that. We are trying to plan a trip to Whitby and a couple more coastal towns up north. We are so happy you enjoyed the video/ pictures. 🤍 Jess x
Love the place. You can follow the old railway to Ravenscar southwards or northerly to Whitby. Further north is Staithes. My ancestors lived in that area in the 16th Century. Visit again if you can and Chris , make a bonus visit to Mathewsons classic car auctions at Thornton le Dale on the A170.
Same. It was so lovely to visit such a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing about the old railway. I'm definitely sure we will try and attend the classic car auction! 🤍 Jess x
Ah! So glad you got to visit RH Bay. We camped there in the summer. But I’ve been many times before. Recently, I discovered I have a dodgy ancestor who lived there in the 1800s with his “housekeeper” and her 2 children. He is also listed on the census the same year living in Whitby with his wife and their children. When he died the “housekeeper” changed her children’s surname to his name. Haven’t worked it out yet but I suspect I’m descended from the “housekeeper”! 😂😂
I'm sure it was a blast! It's such a beautiful place to visit. How interesting about your ancestors from there. Thank you for sharing. We truly appreciate you sharing your time with us, friend! Have you been on any recent adventure lately? 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn We been busy here lately. The youngest daughter who lives in Iceland has been back staying with us. I’ve also been busy filming 2 special videos 1. Is about a secret art trail in our town. I’ve been videoing interviews with the artist and the organisers. Due out Nov. 2. The other special is.. I’ve been filming a few seconds of every day in 2024 to produce a ‘I filmed my life every day for a year’ video due out just before Christmas. I’ve just been posting shorter walk and talk videos about random stuff as an experiment. But I’m trying to organise a road trip to see a close friend who lives in Scotland before Christmas, so that’ll be an adventure! 🚐
Hiya. When I saw the mention of Robin Hood's Bay my first thought was, wow, they've got their tents and military back packs and they're about to start the Coast To Coast path, from Robin Hood's Bay in the East to St. Bees in the West. 190 miles over 2 weeks, camping wild. Most people do it from West to East, though. There are some excellent vids on YT about it for you to check out, btw. Did you get your fish & chips on the way back to the car? Stay safe. All the best to you.
Oh, that would have been such a fun adventure. Would have been very cold. We would love to go wild camp once while here. We love the coastal paths and all the beautiful villages. Hope you enjoyed the video. We did get fish and chips. We look forward to trying Whitby Fish and Chips 🤍 Jess x
While in that area you might consider going further up the coast to the port of Whitby, with its Dracula connections, ruined abbey and where Captain Cook's ship, HMS Endeavour, was built; then on to Staithes, similar to (but I think better than) RHB. You could finish in the elegant coastal town of Saltburn-by-the Sea.
The end of the Coast to Coast Walk, it was an awesome scenic end to a great walk. And then another coastal day walk down to Scarborough. But it gets rather busy near to the sea front in the summer.
Oh, yes, but like we said in the video, it was just a day trip, so we only had time to visit Robin Hood's Bay this time. We're definitely planning a return trip to visit other places on the coast such places like you mentioned. Was a full day over 10 hrs of driving and exploring Robin Hood's Bay. 😉 🤍 Jess x
Wife and myself were there a few weeks ago lovely place , it was easier to walk down and back up on the road rather than all those dam steps, killing on the calf muscles on the back up though .....❤ loved the video
It’s many years since I have been to Robin Hoods Bay, one forgets how quaint these villages are. As a child I well recall thinking Robin Hood was a long way from Sherwood Forest. Then again there are those from Yorkshire who claim him as a Yorkshireman😊
Ray, Robin Hood's Bay was so amazing to explore. We definitely need to check out Sherwood Forest soon, friend. We loved the rolling hills in the north. We hope you're doing well, love! 🤍 Jess & family x
Who needs a gym when you're in an English coastal village! :-) Great video guys. If I remember correctly, if you walk up that little tunnel that delivers the stream to the sea, you'll find small access hatches to some of the buildings. The tunnel isn't big enough to make it a comfortable walk (especially if you have a bad back) but it's ideal for sneaking smuggled contraband ashore, avoiding those pesky revenue men. :-)
I agree there is no need for a gym. It was so much fun exploring this beautiful village. Thank you for sharing your time with us. We're so glad you enjoyed the video. 🤍 Jess x
Really enjoyed this, I live in Torquay in Devon and I highly recommend you visit Dartmoor and Lydford Gorge and Boscastle and the witches museum. You won't be disappointed after visiting these locations and maybe Glastonbury and Stonehenge.
@@DaydreamersBarn Thanks Jess, yes it's absolutely amazing Boscastle and check out the Cobweb restaurant and Wellington Hotel which is haunted and the witches museum. All those other places I definitely believe you will absolutely adore them. Dartmoor is famous for The Hound Of The Baskerville's.
Oh, we talk about that all the time. How many memories we will have from our fun adventure together. We are so thankful to have this opportunity. 🤍 Jess x
There are lots of places called Robin Hood's or Arthur's something, propably they commemorated some local hero but when his name was forgotten they started calling it after the only hero they knew the name of.
Happy anniversary, if you ever get the chance to visit Clovelly North Devon (run by the National Trust, so it's now chargeable), wear comfortable shoes and pack your camera.
I have a book written by Leo Walmsley, called "Angler’s Moon". A large part of the book talks about his involvement with the fishermen in Bramblewick village just after WW2. Bramblewick was the name he gave to Robin Hood's Bay. It is a fascinating book, well worth a read if you ever find a copy.
Next time try and get to Cullercoats , North Tyneside. Great little sandy bay with its own lifeboat house. Cliffs and piers. Noticed no one complained about your videoing, as it should be.
Oh, thank you for the recommendation on places to visit. We definitely try our best to be kind when we take videos. Thank you for the kindness! 🤍 Jess x
This is the story of a famous rescue that took place in Robin Hoods Bay: In January 1881, Freeman was involved in the epic rescue of the crew of the “Visitor” at Robin Hood’s Bay. In severe weather the “Robert Whitworth” was hauled by men and horses six miles overland through snowdrifts and then down the steep road into Robin Hood’s Bay. The lifeboat was launched with Freeman in command but after an hour’s struggle to reach the endangered men, the lifeboat was struck by a huge wave, breaking six of the oars. Freeman returned the lifeboat to the beach, took on fresh oars and a fresh crew, then launched the lifeboat again and rescued the “Visitor’s” crew.
I would recccomend a trip to Leeds, Chris would really appreciate a trip to the royal armouries and jess would love a trip to the botanical Gardens and tropical world at roundhay Park. There is also Kirkstall Abbey nearly a thousand years old I believe a museum, canal, art gallery, West Yorkshire playhouse amongst other attractions
No one is ever disappointed when they come to the north of England but some tell me they have had a lot of misinformation about it from others who appear not to have been here! If you've not yet been if you have more time in northern England don't miss Hadrian's Wall and Northumberland. If you are en route to Scotland it is not far off your route to make a detour to the wall. The car you passed by will be roadworthy otherwise it would not be allowed to park on a public road. Every year a car aged three years or over has to undergo a test called an MOT to make sure that it is roadworthy and safe. If it does not get a pass certificate it is illegal to drive it or to park it on a public highway until it is made roadworthy and has been taxed.
I agree Northern England is beautiful! Well, I would say all of England is beautiful in my eyes. It's an amazing slice of heaven on earth! The car was drivable. Unfortunately, just more than we could spend to send it back to the US. We're still looking for a beautiful classic British car to take home with us. My little farm will be made up of as much of the UK as I can take home. Thank you for your time! 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn of you are going to do the north top priority for scenic beauty must include the lake district plus some of the roads will really test your driving skills
Welcome to North Yorks, Jess and all. Part of GODS OWN COUNTRY to me, some say "County" but that is too small for me ❤ Come back in summer if you can. Robin Hoods bay apparently has no connection to the Sherwood terrorist but it was apparently a landing bay for a lot of contraband and many of the houses have interlinking basement tunnels and doors setup for skullduggery and intrigue.😮
We loved it! It was so incredibly beautiful. It was such a pleasure getting to explore Robin Hood's Bay. We will definitely try to return. We appreciate your time sharing with us. 🤍 Jess x
Legally, that classic car would have to be able to run in order to be parked on the road as every car over 3 years old needs to have its annual MOT Test. Also, you can register an SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) for your car if you're not using it in order to not have to pay any road tax on it. As the name suggests though, in order to do that you need to take the car off the road which that one clearly wasn't.

🤍 Jess x

🤍 Jess x
You all have a real eye for videos and photography. Beautifully shot.
Thank you so much. It was so beautiful! 🤍 Jess x
I agree! But, perhaps even more so, they are so good at capturing the mood and atmosphere and details of wherever they visit - not just the money shots. With Jess and Chris, you really feel you are there with them.
Another awesome video, Jess. Robin Hood’s Bay is now on my visit list when I retire next year 😊. Thanks for sharing, you guys never disappoint ❤
Oh, thank you! We're so glad you enjoyed coming along with us. 🤍 Jess x
We will definitely be returning as many times as I can. I just love it here. We appreciate your kindness and support! 🤍 Jess x
At 8:30:00, you guys walked right past the red & white memorial sea mine at Robin Hoods Bay! Great videos! 🎉
It was a great time and lots to see. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers, Chris
@davidjones332 right but we also passed a Defender as well as the Sunbeam. Both lovely classic automobiles!
Wow! It's true. Americans think that 100 years is a long time and the British think that 100 miles is a long distance! A big day trip and congratulations on your anniversary. Thanks for the Robin Hoods Bay photos, I have been many times but my knees would not let me visit again!
Patrick,
It's funny, but so true, my friend! We definitely had such a lovely time. I also suffer from horrible knees. I have had a parcel knee replacement already. I hope you enjoyed the adventure with us, dear friend! Happy Saturday 🤍 Jess & family x
Truth! We do!
Also, I love sharing joy with you all.
Oh, how lovely. I'm sure it is a fantastic Footpath! That would be a lovely summers day adventure. Thank you for your time sharing with us. 🤍 Jess x
We had a brilliant time. It was quite a hike back up, but it was so worth it. Thank you for coming along with us, friend. 🤍 Jess x
Congratulations on your anniversary..🎉thaks for your vlogs...i want to see your walk back up 😂❤ you wont need a gym for some weeks after this...
Thank you, friend. It was a lovely day exploring this beautiful country. Thank you for your support and love! 🤍 Jess x
Robin Hoods Bay is the end/start of the Coast to Coast walk from the Irish Sea to the North Sea ( or vice versa ) , it's roughly an 180mile walk.
Oh, lovely. Thank you for sharing. Hopefully, we will return and take that walk. 🤍 Jess x
🤍 Jess x
Robin Hoods Bay is one of my favourite places. You could have made a weekend of it and visited Whitby and Runswick Bay as well. Maybe another time
We agree with a beautiful place. 🤍 Jess x
Hi Jess Chris if you want fog lol try the Welsh mountains in October I live on one and see fog loads of times a day let alone a week in autumn
If your traveling up north from the southeast instead of getting stuck on the M1 motorway maybe a faster less crowded route is the A1M through Scotch corner. A1M has less traffic than the motorway. When going north everyone goes M25 M1 M6 north best routes is M25 A1M its mostly dual Carriageway so same speed as motorways but less traffic
Best fish n chips in the uk one can eat is close to the sea or in seaside towns especially ones that have a fishing port. The fish is usually very fresh. Sometimes its a matter of hours from sea to plate
There arw villages and towns all over the uk that have small cobbled streets and paths.
ps. Its quite a hill back up to the car park, isn't it!
Adrian,
We hope your holiday was full of fun and lovely memories.
Glad that you enjoyed your visit!
Thank you 🤍 Jess x
We appreciate your kindness 🤍 Jess and
Robin Hoods Bay is very charming, loved the video guys .
We agree. I'm so glad you enjoyed our adventure. 🤍 Jess x
Love Robins Hoods Bay ...like a lot of these seaside villages it always feels like the buildings were carved out of the landscape ❤xx
I agree with you, my friend. They're just so quiet and beautiful. 🤍 Jess x
Truly love your enthusiasm guys , so glad you're having a great time . Love the video hope you both had amazing Anniversary 😊
🤍 Jess x
Great video, happy anniversary to you both 🎉 🍾 🤘👍

Happy Sunday and see you soon, many thanks xx ❤

Stephen,
Thanks for the well wishes for our anniversary.
A long way down, but feels 10 times longer coming back .😁
Never a truer word was spoken!!
I agree with you, friend, but it was so worth it! 🤍 Jess x
LoL
I'm not sure about the cones in the stream, unfortunately.
We're so glad you enjoyed the day out with us, friend. 🤍 Jess x
Lovely trip Jess and family. We took a trip around there a couple of years ago, on our way back from Scotland.
Oh, how lovely. We really enjoyed exploring Robin Hood's Bay.
We're right now planning our return trip to Scotland right now. We just love living here.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. We loved exploring. Thank you for the recommendation and insight. 🤍 Jess x

🤍 Jess x

We look forward to trying Whitby Fish and Chips
🤍 Jess x
While in that area you might consider going further up the coast to the port of Whitby, with its Dracula connections, ruined abbey and where Captain Cook's ship, HMS Endeavour, was built; then on to Staithes, similar to (but I think better than) RHB. You could finish in the elegant coastal town of Saltburn-by-the Sea.
Thank you for sharing with us places we should explore on our next adventure in the north. We really appreciate your time. 🤍 Jess x
The end of the Coast to Coast Walk, it was an awesome scenic end to a great walk. And then another coastal day walk down to Scarborough. But it gets rather busy near to the sea front in the summer.

Did you go to Robin hood bay! and not think about visiting whitby ? Also.. you drove past Scarborough!!! A must visit! Like whitby.

It’s many years since I have been to Robin Hoods Bay, one forgets how quaint these villages are. As a child I well recall thinking Robin Hood was a long way from Sherwood Forest. Then again there are those from Yorkshire who claim him as a Yorkshireman😊

Who needs a gym when you're in an English coastal village! :-)
Great video guys.
🤍 Jess x

Oh, lovely thanks you for the recommendation on the book. We will keep a look out for it.

Wow, what a store of the rescue! I truly appreciate your time to share this with us. 🤍 Jess x

🤍 Jess x

🤍 Jess x
Sunday - storm Ashley …. Careful - there’ll be strong gusts 💨 and rotten weather (less on the east)
Oh, yes, it was very windy/ raining, but we still had a blast with Shane & Colette! We appreciate your time sharing the heads up with us.
It was in running order. Thank you for sharing the information with us. 🤍 Jess x
The only problem in walking down all those hills is that you have to walk back up them!
Oh, but it was so worth it, my friend! 🤍 Jess x
God’s Own County . I live in York and all this is on my door step , Filey Bay is my go too place

You were lucky, parking can be a challenge on busy days.
I'm sure. I am very thankful for parking. 🤍 Jess x
Nice. I wouldn't like to be the postman 😊
It would definitely be a very intense workout daily. 🤍 Jess x
Can’t believe the lack of leaves on the trees. Where I live hardly any have dropped.
It's crazy how just driving north changes things. 🤍 Jess x
It’s the North …but just as beautiful as your south 🙄
That round red metal thing about 8 or 8.30 minutes in is a world war 2 sea mine
