The line "That was your uncle Sean" hit hard, made me tear up. Something about saying without hesitation that he was family to her really showed how much the narrator loved him, and how thankful he was
Tell me why I caught myself saying "Its your Uncle Shawn" when the little girl asked who the boy was. Beautifully told man almost made me cry at work lol
“That was your uncle Shawn.” God, that made me cry. That was a heart-wrenching line. But in an amazing way. You always express so much emotion through your narration. Not that monotone stuff you hear from so many other narrators. I always look forward to your uploads the most.❤️
damn I'm a fully grown man but this story really got to me I was crying... I NEVER cry Mr Somnium I take my hat off to you, that was one of your best narrations yet
ZMadHatter I’m a 14 yo girl and I didn’t cry😂 but this is a great story and loved how great it was narrated definitely recommending this to my friends 😌
What I really like about your stories is that they sound like your speaking from memory, as if these things really happened to you. Your an amazing story teller. Thank you for your stories. A loving father.
This was such an tragic, sad, and beautiful story. Poor guy carried guilt of the death of his best friend, til he had a daughter. And what really hit hard, was his line " your uncle Sean ". I had to save this story. Just absolutely beautiful!!
As a father to a 2 year old boy. This story made me shed a few tears. I can't imagine losing my boy to a situation like this. Great story and phenomenal reading as always Somnium
Dude. I felt this story. The rage, the fear, the burning, seething hatred for that man. Then the reassurance of shawn and the heart warming end. You're such an incredible story teller. Just the right story to get the blood really flowing before work. I could listen to your stories for hours.
I seriously would like to say that dark sommium has the highest potential I have ever seen in a creepypasta UA-cam channel. I would like to ask you all when was the last time this man has posted a badly narrated or written pasta ? I honestly never have been disappointed and I went back far into his channel. Every time a new video comes out I know that I will be in for an beautifully written and narrated story. Somnium please keep doing what your doing and tell us “only the best of stories” thank you for your work mate.
It's never happened... Ronnie is THE most under rated talent on you tube...period..love this guy like a brother... never met him... but if he ever has car trouble and shows up at my door... I got a room for him and a seat at my table.
I'm a 38 year old man. Not the crying sort either. 2 of these stories have ever got me Misty and they are both read by you. This one and What Happens When the Stars Go Out. You have a real talent for this. Nice
Bro when the stars go out 😭😭 😭 OHHH GAAWD i listened to that one leaving a hockey game, dropping off my younger son with his mom and heading back home. Shit was difficult to drive
I never cry either but one got me hard last month, the narration is done by lighthouse horror and the story is call a bridge appears outside my window. Give it a listen if you have the time
Marsha Scott I completely understand how you feel! That got me too!! I lost my big brother in 2015 & I'd like to think if I were ever in desperate need, he'd be there to guide me through!!
This was on point, the rage, the anger the pure instinct to protect. This story gave me chills and made me tear up. Amazing story, truly was an amazing story.
@@Darksomnium great story man really loved it you have an amazing talent never let it go to waste. that one legit brought tears to my eye, I love how u can put such emotion into a story and bring it to life Your amazing keep up the great work :D
I just found this one and im glad i did. The sound effects to pronounce the fathers "transformation" is amazing. The snarling' the aggressive violin. Just really amazing work
I am a father of two, the anxiety that I felt listening to this is unimaginable I can't even imagine what it would be like if something like this where they happen to me. I'm so glad this story had a happy ending I kid you not I started tearing up when I thought you wouldn't be able to find his daughter.
That was *powerful.* The biggest reason I follow your channel is that your stories you read have more emotional resonance and substance to them than a lot of stories in this vein. That and your acting really added depth to this one. Well done!
Speaking as a father to 3 daughter's that thing inside when something bad happens is a real thing not one thing i wouldn't do to protect them. Amazing story and as always you killed it dude👏👏
What a great story this was. I never really cry with stories, I think I've ever only cried twice to stories, but this one really hits home. I have a friend (luckily I still have him) who's like a brother to me, and when we were in middle school he almost passed away from a tumor in his stomach, idk what my live would be without him, my sworn brother. And hearing that line "that was your uncle shawn" was incredibly heart breaking. 10/10 video
I want to curse you out for being the one narrator who can make me cry. You bring stories to life like no one else does. There's so much emotion in your voice, and it truly overwhelms me at times. Your fantastic narration paired with an incredible author is a true work of art. I really can't say enough how much I adore your content, and how grateful I am for all the time and effort you put into each video.
I write this as she asks "who was that", i started crying. Your voice always hits a cord in me, the calm and slightly melancholy tone you have. I thoroughly enjoy your style of storytelling. I do hope your short absence was healthy and that you were able to make the most out of what transpired in that time.
Omg you uploaded this at the perfect time! I was just getting ready for bed and I love listening to your vids before I go to sleep. Keep up the good work man.
That was, without a doubt, one of the best stories I have heard in a long, long time. Absolutely marvelous. Well done, both writer, and reader. Bravo to both. Bravo!

This might literally be the best creepypasta-reading channel on the web. I've heard audio dramas with worse production values than this channel. Thanks TDS!
I have a story about my own daughter. It's nowhere near as dramatic but is similar. She's 15 now but was a year and a 1/2 old then. We were shopping and I had her in the seat of a cart. When we were at the register, the man in front of us kept looking at her and I saw him take a picture with his phone. I watched him casually take another picture a few seconds later. I stared daggers at him but he took another picture. Now that I was sure of what he was doing, and the shock had worn off, when he was aiming his phone for another picture, I said very loudly and angrily "No." He casually put his phone away, continued checking out, and tried to leave the store. I called security and they kept him from leaving. He had been taking pictures, he said, just because she was beautiful. Security made him remove the pictures from his phone and they let him go... but I know the rage that the main character in this story felt. I literally wanted to tear this man into little pieces. There is a beast inside us, not that far beneath the surface... and you don't mess with a child and expect to just walk away. I was very lucky that it was public and only pictures. He was very lucky that there was security present. He was maybe 5'-5" and 140 lbs. If I were in better shape, I could have been a defensive lineman, I'm 6-3" and I'm too strong for my own good. I had never wanted to kill someone before, but I would if they hurt my daughter. No regrets, no hesitation.

Holy crap! That was a great story. Alot of powerful sentiments. Made me smile, cry, had my heart racing at times. Whoever wrote this, great job. And great job to the narrator, it really came alive.
That's just the perfect story! I felt everything that the father felt and the fact that his old friend Shone helped him In the form of a ghost just shows that the real friendship never dies (literally) GREAT STORY!!! :D
I remember when browsing for stories to listen actually required effort... But since discovering your channel i have learnt that the title of the story does not matter because every story narrated by you is absolutely phenomenal, the work you put into these narrations is very admirable and you deserve every bit of positive recognition you get and way more, this story was brilliant just like every other story you've narrated.

Silence is violence
