Dear Linda, I absolutely love this video. I've never seen anyone apply the alcohol with a brush and I cannot wait to try it YOUR way which would give me way more control over what's happening. I've only applied the alcohol with a spray bottle. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your AMAZING TALENT!! If you EVER host in person workshops, I would love to attend (and meet Puccini) since I just live in Conifer! Be well!! Many hugs, Karen 🙂
Linda I see that this video is already year old. I do hope all is well.with you today. I've seen this video several times before but it is good to re-watch again and again.
I love the effect created on the vellum, and all the possibilities of creating cards, increases the artistic use of vellum ,thank you for showing us this technique
What a fantastic technique and your velum sheet turned out awesome and so did your cards........thank you for showing how it was done....well done Linda
Here's a tip: you can add your gilding flakes to those little dark patches of alcohol that appear to still be wet - but aren't ... however they're are tacky enough to hold the gilding flakes well. Burnish them down after leaving a few minutes to absorb the alcohol & ink. Bonus is they take care of those sticky spots & add true randomness to the overall result.
Stunning designs Linda!!! Thanks so much for sharing. I already have some ideas of my own to use strips of the alcohol inked vellum with strips of dsp!
You can make your own alcohol ink, in small quantities for a single project if you want using a reinker and 91% alcohol. You can even try putting it in a water brush.
These came out gorgeous I just love the way it looks I am so happy I have all the supplies and will be trying this over the weekend. Thanks so much for sharing
