As a cashier, I can tell you with certainty, that any and all prepaid cards DO NOT activate until after purchase. Those things are so easy to steal, just putting them in your pocket and walking out. Also, that gun is used with the box of premium patriot attachments you found right at the start. It attaches labels or price tags to clothes I think. Never used one myself. If not the exact attachments, something like them.
You're correct, we use those at Hot Topic to attach those plastic hooks to items we may want to hang or attaching price tags.

Thirty years ago I worked at the Burlington coat factory. We used those tag gun to tag clothes by putting the plastic clips in the seems.
Only in America where we throw perfectly usable or new items out. That store could have donated the office supplies to a local school. Such a waste.
its not just that store that does that, and its not just in america. a lot of stores in america donate supplies like that. hell, the local walmart here donates excess supplies of bikes and toys to local toy drives.

Anybody who does boxing and shipping themselves knows how expensive supplies can be. Anytime you can get them for free, it cuts your overhead. It is surprising how much goes to waste. Good haul.

@@seanp777 Those are slatwall hooks and fixtures. Slatwall was/is used a lot in retail locations and now is often used in home workshops. I'll bet they could sell boxes of 100 fixtures for $10 on ebay.

I don’t understand companies that just toss brand new items like receipt paper and markers
With the GameStop dumpsters it was easier for them to toss everything because of the debt they were/are in. But normally they would have just transferred everything to another store but it costs money to do so.

I found a huge stack of gift cards unactivated. I have a Accuquilt cutter, I cut different shapes out of the old gift cards. I make fairy houses out of my homemade self drying clay. I use the gift cards to build a platform or if I need to make stairs to cover with clay. They are the perfect size. I also use old cards for other crafts. So give them to a crafter, the imagination goes on forever to create. 😁😁😁
The blue trigger handle with the needle is (patriot tagging tool) for the plastic hooks at the beginning. It pokes through the fabric and the piece that moves inside brakes one of the hooks off.

The little green gun is for attaching price tags to clothing. You found some early in the video. They were the ones with hooks on the end. They are sometimes called barbs.
The needle comes out. There is a little turning plastic thing near the needle that releases it.
Cool finds.
I’ve worked retail forever, be sure to check for recalls in your finds. Might want to get a large bucket to carry your finds. The metal hooks in the dumpster would be good for scrape metal. Some are heavy and don’t take up much room.

Those brown and clear rolls of tape are for taping boxes together. They sell a hand held tool that tape goes into and when they get boxes that need to be taped up to make a cardboard box, it rolls out the tape and cuts off the length. I have a couple of them. Nice strong tape and if you get the hand held roller that holds the tape, what a great tool for taping boxes you'll have.
The store could have donated the some of the stuff they threw out to some hospital, school, a local store owner, to someone/something else.
Maybe a family could've used some of it.
Maybe a hospital or a vet office could have used them gloves if they are the right gloves to use.
Maybe a dog groomer could've used those gloves too.

When you find used gift cards, a lot of times they have a few dollars or cents left on them. One lady I watched found some in a knolls store dumper she got over $50.00 just transferring the cash to pay pal I think. Just go to U-tube and type in how to get money off your gift cards you got for Christmas.
I like that there's so much more of a variety of different things that you can find from dumpster diving than you can magnet fishing. I love the vid! Keep being amazing!

Just because the card itself doesn't state it, it is common knowledge they are not supposed to be used in any other way. I'm telling you the truth man. Good scores though. The lil electric heater they tossed is ok, but the reason why they chucked it is, it sucks ALOT of electricity! The green gun looked like a glue gun., but possibly could be for attaching the plastic hooks. YOU need the plastic gloves for yourself. You should have got the isopropyl alcohol too. You can use it on every kind of surface to sterilize. GET YOUR BED LINER

Agree with everything but two things if you try to use the cards your most likely not going to have a problem other than the fact it’s a waste of time trying. Selling them yes you’ll definitely run into legal issues.The other being the space heater unless your knowledgeable about the specific model it’s be hard to say how well it functions.

You should put totes in the back of your truck. One for scrap metal and one for the goodies you find. It would make it more organized and easier to take inside when you are all done.
You can take the unopened Staples office products back to the store for store credit.

The small heater don't put soap in it, just run it through your shower all the way through. and leave it sit for 3 days make sure you turn the knobs to get the dirt out. I clean my heaters like that all the time.

Here, we will take the whole thing home ( all in those 3 big dumpster ), separate them by items... sell them all... 😄😄😄
Go to a storage facility in a nicest part of your city, and ask the person if you can go through there dumpster a day before they empty it. If they say no, tell them you will give them a cut of what you sell.
The green gun is use to put those little hooks onto the hang up items. We use them at Walmart
That gun look like them the ones of the labels that hook tags they look like they go through a clothing and hook something together that's what it looks like I don't know for sure

None of the cards have money on them. The money is put on at the time of purchase. The vacuum cleaner probably worked. When you see something like a vacuum sitting by a dumpster where the stuff inside looks like a store closed or just looks to be in decent shape bring it home and check it out. If it doesn't work you can always throw it back in a dumpster the next time you dumpster dive.
If you would have kept the box of shelfing plastic hooks to hang products you saw at game stop, they would fit in the little green price tag machine you found here. lol

The blue gun with the needle is for putting tags on stuff like the clothes tags or those on stuffed animals. I used them when I worked making karate gear, sad you didn't find the plastic tags cause those cost a pretty penny
