Overview - Temps are getting cool but the fish are still biting! Get out there and fish while you can, now's the time to get those chunky hawgs to come out and play xD
We were actually trying to find some bass, but it turns out the bass have already moved out into deeper water, so were left with the pickerel :P All good, those fish absolutely crush your baits, and I'll be back at Loch Raven this weekend since it's my last chance before they close down boat rentals for the season!

And for all the questions I'm seeing, a pickerel is a fish that is in the same family as pike and muskellunge, but it isn't a pike. They tend to be smaller and lighter in color than pike. Tight Lines Guys!

1rod1reelfishing, Fishing is one of my favorite things to do, but if your fishing a lake with a lot a pickerel and they have taken over you should kill the pickerel because each pickerel you kill you save about 50 bass. just a suggestion.

1Rod1ReelFishing You're welcome. I enjoy your videos! Yeah I was too when I first heard of it. Too to UA-cam and found exactly the videos I was looking for. By the way, nice Pickerels there. We get a similar fish here in the north (Michigan) called Northern Pike. I caught a 30+ inch Pike this Fall. Fight like an Alligator, and full of teeth haha. Keep up the great work!

LOL it's a Chain pickerel. Chain pickerel have a black line that goes from the top of the eye to the end of their jawline. They are often yellowish and have a chain pattern on the body. The average size of a Chain Pickerel is 24 inches. It is most often caught at much lower sizes. Looks like a Pike but its not.

Nice video. The pike are fun to catch. When I lived up in northern Wis., my friend and I used to do lots of pike fishing. The last time we were up there, the water temps were probably similar to what you were fishing - upper 40's to low 50's. In about 3 hours, we caught over 25 pike. We used spinnerbaits, Mepps, and Little Cleos. I would like to add a bit for the teaching a new person fishing -- pike could be lots of fund too. Also, for fishing with minnows, maybe use a slip bobber set-up. It is easier to change the depth of the bait being presented to fish. Keep up the Good Videos. Do you have muskies up there in MD? Also, what are your gamefish seasons? Here in Wisconsin - the season for gamefish runs from the 1st Sat in May until October 31. There are special rules for rivers and certain counties for various species of fish.

Wow... A lot of people on here do not know the difference between Northern Pike and Pickerel... Google is definitely your friend..
Mike is catching nothing but PICKEREL. Pickerel are cousins to the Northern Pike. The best way to tell the difference between a Pickerel and a Northern Pike... Pickerel will have black "tears" coming down from both eyes. Pike do not have that. Also Northern Pike are MUCH larger than Pickerel. Pickerel only get to

Damn Mike! I'll admit, it took me a long time to get into your video's, but I've grown to appreciate your dedication to the sport. The first few video's I watched, the over zealous damn near screaming when you caught a fish was a turn off, but I watched your bio video and I came to accept the excitement and respect you and your dream. But for you to take that pike out of the fish tank it was born in to go put it in a glass box in your house for you to look at is fucked up!! I'm still subbed, and I still watch your videos, but that was some bullshit.
