Overview - Temps are getting cool but the fish are still biting! Get out there and fish while you can, now's the time to get those chunky hawgs to come out and play xD
We were actually trying to find some bass, but it turns out the bass have already moved out into deeper water, so were left with the pickerel :P All good, those fish absolutely crush your baits, and I'll be back at Loch Raven this weekend since it's my last chance before they close down boat rentals for the season!

+1Rod1ReelFishing YES!!!
thanks
Interesting. I will make sure to watch it later tonight.
And for all the questions I'm seeing, a pickerel is a fish that is in the same family as pike and muskellunge, but it isn't a pike. They tend to be smaller and lighter in color than pike. Tight Lines Guys!
I'll have to look that up... Thanks for letting us know
Where I live pickerel is another name for walleye!
Actually, a walleye is in the perch family.
I just got one of these for ice fishing and I love it my performance has gone up greatly

omg this makes me wanna go fishing with my new kayak but its snowing and freezing rain and school
1rod1reelfishing, Fishing is one of my favorite things to do, but if your fishing a lake with a lot a pickerel and they have taken over you should kill the pickerel because each pickerel you kill you save about 50 bass. just a suggestion.
Great video! I have been looking at buying the Deeper Fish Finder for some time now. Glad to see it works very well! Nice catches.
+Fishing Pleasures thanks for watching! and yeah super stoked to find out that someone finally made a great fishfinder for bank and boat fishing!
1Rod1ReelFishing You're welcome. I enjoy your videos! Yeah I was too when I first heard of it. Too to UA-cam and found exactly the videos I was looking for. By the way, nice Pickerels there. We get a similar fish here in the north (Michigan) called Northern Pike. I caught a 30+ inch Pike this Fall. Fight like an Alligator, and full of teeth haha. Keep up the great work!
I'm big fan of ur man! Great video like alway 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
+Phuoc Le thanks for watching bro, I appreciate the support !
LOL it's a Chain pickerel. Chain pickerel have a black line that goes from the top of the eye to the end of their jawline. They are often yellowish and have a chain pattern on the body. The average size of a Chain Pickerel is 24 inches. It is most often caught at much lower sizes. Looks like a Pike but its not.
can you do a video on your fish tank
I love the idea of the deeper fish finder but idk how much I would trust any fish finder that you can't turn off fish ID.
+Macho Yak TV u can turn off the fish ID, I just kept it on since some of my subs aren't familiar with reading fish finders
+1Rod1ReelFishing oh ok! great video
Keep the vids coming
awesome vid! looks like a lot of fun. Never fished loch raven only Liberty

You should come visit Hawaii to fish! I'm pretty sure you'd like it! Lots and lots of species to catch from shore!
heard you get GT and tuna from shore in Hawaii
+Jeremiah Giles Tuna are not as common but it has happened before, GTs are Hawaii's most prized gamefish.
+antoeknee wongjoy I'd love to fish Hawaii. I've seen videos of everything from yellowfin tuna and GT to bluefin trevally and even peacock bass there. heck, they have SMALLMOUTH in Hawaii. and they all can be caught from shore
nice pickerel, best fish you've caught all year
Bruh he caught a 6 lb bass
and? pickerel is still a much cooler and rarer fish
You should come to Florida...🌞,🎣, and fun
I went to lake burton in north georgia last week and tore up the pickerel on a kvd jerkbait

hey man you gotta come down to clubhouse rd in Perry man I got a secret spot that is killer back there
Looks like you had a great time with the Deeper. I wonder if there is a way to use the gps of the phone to help you navigate back to the points where you marked a few fish
+The Fishing Experiment you can actually create maps on the deeper app!
1Rod1ReelFishing oh hey that's pretty neat That solves that problem then eh

Just a suggestion but during the winter can you review your rods, reels, and lures?
+detroitman24413 will be doing that!
I caught a four pound Pickrell a couple of days ago
1rode1reel you should have a tournament in coos bay Oregon
man , i didnt want a fishfinder till now ! makin me want to start going out later in season , as i told you i quit after august !
+george morlock haha fishfinders can def help you locate fish on bigger bodies of water!
great video.
Nice video. The pike are fun to catch. When I lived up in northern Wis., my friend and I used to do lots of pike fishing. The last time we were up there, the water temps were probably similar to what you were fishing - upper 40's to low 50's. In about 3 hours, we caught over 25 pike. We used spinnerbaits, Mepps, and Little Cleos. I would like to add a bit for the teaching a new person fishing -- pike could be lots of fund too. Also, for fishing with minnows, maybe use a slip bobber set-up. It is easier to change the depth of the bait being presented to fish. Keep up the Good Videos. Do you have muskies up there in MD? Also, what are your gamefish seasons? Here in Wisconsin - the season for gamefish runs from the 1st Sat in May until October 31. There are special rules for rivers and certain counties for various species of fish.
+jerrythefisherman94 thanks for watching! Got some muskies in MD but not many, I caught quite a few while I was in Ohio though!
You seem to like using Deeper. Have you tried using ibobber or Fish Hunter sonars? Do you have a preference? Is one easier to use versus the other?
+Miles Spicer I've found the deeper is the most accurate and is the most versatile when compared to the ibobber and fish hunter
Good video!
Jesse is cool
Wow... A lot of people on here do not know the difference between Northern Pike and Pickerel... Google is definitely your friend..
Mike is catching nothing but PICKEREL. Pickerel are cousins to the Northern Pike. The best way to tell the difference between a Pickerel and a Northern Pike... Pickerel will have black "tears" coming down from both eyes. Pike do not have that. Also Northern Pike are MUCH larger than Pickerel. Pickerel only get to
+Jonas Hamrah lol to be fair they look very similar, but yeah I was catching all pickerel in this vid :P
Yes, the look similar, I even said that they are cousins to the Pike.. But people need look at how they are different. It's like classifying a walleye, sauger or saugeye together. They look the same, but they are not
i thought you were talking about walleye pickerel lol
nice vid man
You should to get into hunting it's super fun and a challenge but is rewarding
1rod1reelfishing I would just like to say I am a huge fan keep up the good work maybe we could fish together some time
+Sarah Seviss thanks for the support! Maybe we'll fish sometime in the future :D
Will you be hosting any tourneys in Pennsylvania in the future??
Fish tank video!
What external power bank for your iPhone is that bro? I've been looking for a good one while fishing ...maybe this summer we can link up and fish in pa
Damn Mike! I'll admit, it took me a long time to get into your video's, but I've grown to appreciate your dedication to the sport. The first few video's I watched, the over zealous damn near screaming when you caught a fish was a turn off, but I watched your bio video and I came to accept the excitement and respect you and your dream. But for you to take that pike out of the fish tank it was born in to go put it in a glass box in your house for you to look at is fucked up!! I'm still subbed, and I still watch your videos, but that was some bullshit.
@1rod1reelfishing did you really throw the pike in your tank
I am thinking of buying one of these so is it easy to tell if it is a big or small fish
did you ever go down past the power lines and catch a pike
We call them Jack fish in the south.
Jack Pike in the UK.
Great video
1rod1reel should have like 3 mil subs
What is your favorite drop shot setup
will you ever come to north myrtle beach on your way to florda one time and fish whith me and my dad we have some nice fish down here my biggest was a 3 pound bass but im only 6 you could also sea fish my biggest there was a 10 pound stingray you could get a lot of footage hope you come if so reach me on here
Why did u never post a video of u and Ryan wood on the bay catching stripers?
+Steve Laios will be posting that footage this winter! We only caught dinks that day, so I'll be posting that when I'm low on footage
+1Rod1ReelFishing okay cool thanks
Nice lake!
If you don't mind me asking.
What state is this in?
I had a pickerel a year ago and it ate so many goldfish
