TTV Bboi mev his comment is 4 years old so I think there are better fish finders now like Garmin striker 4 which I really recommend for a budget fish finder it’s 120$
Nice thorough review. Clever gadget! Being gadget wise is awesome! Not cheating. If we thought that way we'd fish with a stick and string and a thorn for a hook. Thanks guys!
2:09 - Not quite. The transducer would probably be the whole flat bottom. Those 2 metal points are what get bridged to make contact and a circuit to activate it once it hits water. 2:44 - looks like a micro USB to me, not mini.
Just an update, the product no longer comes with either a wall or car charger. The manufacturer includes a note to say this is for environmental reasons so they can cut down on packaging. No cut down in price mind!!!
Jim Fisher Since it has a micro usb port most people already have one if not several chargers at home. I bet you got a bunch of old phone chargers laying around and collecting dust. The new Deeper also has 50% better battery capacity which answers for the lack of price cut. It has also gone down a bit in price since it first hit the market. If you absolutely need an extra wall charger you can buy one from Ebay or Aliexpress for the price of a small chocolate bar.
+Matthew G. Hauge I agree with this. I have a ton of USB wall chargers around. I don've have a micro USB cable tho, but they aren't super expensive to grab one.
The 2 metal studs on the bottom are for continuity conduction, if it’s out of water, it won’t register continuity. The actual transducer is located at the flat spot on the bottom.
Good review, I may get one, I used to have one the the early fish finders, can't remember what they were called you had a screen, device and a light float transmitter, p float always broke if you banged it on anything while casting it out, I sold it in the end.
Mike. How would you rate this on river's? Towards the end of your blog, you mentioned barbel anglers could make use of this, however when you went back through your sonars history, you highlighted some rough looking bits to your image, and said that might of been water dispersing over the sonar, whilst retrieving....on rivers this unit might not work then if that's the case, due to it being a little bit more broken water? What do you think? Cheers
Thinking about finally getting one of these...did I see this correctly? Can you have more than one device connected to the same transducer at the same time? Or was there a cut in the video between you showing the tablet and then your phone? So if I get one, both me AND my buddy can have our phones connected at the same time in different spots?
hi guys love your channel . do you think this has helped you find and catch fish ? . I love to carp fish do you think leading out could be replaced by this gizmo . hope to hear from you soon many thanks
Hi there guys have you done a video off you guys fishing with a fish finder yes I no that you done this one but I'm saying is can you put the line though the eye of the deeper so you can still put a rig on the line
please explain to me, how the reading is shown to you, compared to the position of the deeper in the water and what way you are facing? and also i see the bottom keeps changing, on some peoples fvideos is that because that reading was done in a boat moving forward, and thats the ready , what you are going over , straight ahead? and is it supposed to float or would it be better to put a weight on it and make it sink? and how is it possible to know what side of the water the ledge or bank is, like on what side of you it is, while you are looking straight out at it.
i must say that zander looks like a walleye like my profile pic for canada and usa nice fish tho!!! and great description on the deeper smart fish finder thanks
Don't think we have been out with it other than flat conditions...there might be something online to tell you what it performs like in rougher water . Or contact the makers, they should have some stats.
but the price is still a bit high for those who don't fish too often,, its $250+ here in the US. there is another called the ibobber and its around $100 US but it doesn't use android yet(android guy myself) . this is one of the better reviews, really thinking I might have to get this since I'm out fishing almost year round. thanks so much for making this!
mwmnmwm All the competitors to Deeper function well, but they all lack the vast array of functions that Deeper has. Deeper can be compared with some really high end fish finders when you look at all the functions it has.
since i made that post it has come down in price, $199 US and nothing has came out even close to how good this is, I'm a "wait for the next new improved model" guy. plus i've gotten into a lil kayak fishing and i'm not liking the prices of permanent fish finders that have the same features, plus all the wiring, battery, transducer mount, ect, this still comes across as the best option.
mwmnmwm I was asking them that question to see if their going to make a new finder but said their going to keep making updates to the software instead.
Question I fish in a loch which had plenty trouts. I pretty much know best areas for spinning in it, but sometimes nothing is biting in hours. So i would like to use it more to see if there are fish in this area than see the bottom, because i know the bottom of these areas. Just to see if fish isnt sitting up here or if it is just picky and I need to use more diferent lures to find what is good for that day. Would it be any good for that?
DanLewis All the competitors to Deeper function well, but they all lack the vast array of functions that Deeper has. Deeper can be compared with some really high end fish finders when you look at all the functions it has.
oh okay so its not too hard to use. what test curve rod do you usually use for it and whats the lest powerful test curve you have used this with? btw love the videos especially all the carp and coarse ones lately
Deeper is made of extremely durable materials, so you won't have any problems with saltwater fishing, ice fishing, or the combination of two. Sure, crack would be a disaster, but you'd need to try really hard to get one.
***** yes and you would be using a softer rod without a leader line so even less chance of a crack off. Fish are few and litterally far between locally with one guy catching all of them because he hit the group. This might just give more people a chance.
prince gerald If you compare the functions on the Deeper compared to other fish finders you will find that it actually is much cheaper than any comparable device.
+prince gerald whilst that is true for it being rather expensive these would no doubt be more marketed towards people using smaller dinghies, kayaks or even land based anglers trying to scout out different areas. Another bonus is if you end up hiring a boat while out of town on a holiday and it doesn't come with a fish finder you have one that you can use
I was on their website and it looks like the cheapest model uses bluetooth, and the two more expensive models use wifi. And the middle priced model can be used on the ice.
This is not a real review of a product, since there are no negatives about the Deeper fish-finder: a true review of any products will have pros and cons.
handliner3 but in uk they r very valuable as they r not native most places in fresh water uk or comercial fisherys u cant kill fish or its a fin of £1000-£2500 and u loose your fishing license
I am searching wireless fishfinder type, which is fast reliably. Square fishing-net (lift-net!) I would put the sonar onto the water. Important, that let the fish noticed on the monitor be there in reality above the net in that moment! It is not good for me if the radar is late! Please the radar competent vocational help!
I have deeper pro with wifi When it comes out of the water it also maps the bank behind me So it does not show where you are on bank Even maps when walking to next swim Not happy with it It's good to use as marker float But it will not map your lake properly
Done some reading on those. They're basically cousins to our American walleye, but bigger. I guess that there have been efforts to import them from Europe, with very little success. One article that I read said that the only place in America that they have managed to get them to take hold is Spiritwood Lake here in North Dakota.
Welder Nate It's actually a Zander, not native to the UK but it is a species that more and more people are fishing for. The vampire fish is just a nickname given to it by anglers, due to the large fang like teeth at the front of the jaws - Mike
+Welder Nate Walleye (Sander vitreus) and Zander (Sander lucioperca) are closely related. Walleye being a North American fish and Zander being a Eurasian fish. They're kind of like long lost cousins of the fish world.
you dont relase zander back to water you should keep it , this fish is know for sort of hart attack when hooked up and even if swim off from you soon will die trust me i catch lots of them
why did you not kill that thing. I didnt think they where ment to go back into the water. Any zander i have caught on the fens get knocked on the head and thrown in the field/bushes for the birds or fox's.
dbartemy It is a Zander. Zander and Walleye look very much the same. Walley only live on the American continent though, and don't exist in Europe at all.
Just ordered one of these. I can't wait!
Have one love it, saves you from wasting time from going places where the fish aren't
From shore, my fishing has improved ten fold. I LOVE IT!!!!!

Fantastic review and great fish! Cheers.
Looks great saw it in the Zander vid, I'd say it wud be excellent in all fishing situations to plot the bottom of your swims and such.
Definitely convinced me to purchase this. Thanks!
Thanks Mike. Great video.

Thanks for the review. Going ice fishing. Would like to try that out. Just wish the price was a little bit lower.
Just realized, we missed megga fish this past weekend, lol, we thought the white fish was our hook, OMG, thanks for the tips on using our Deeper
awesome video! i can't wait to get one!
The new Lowrance castable fish finder has multiple sonar signals and gives better imaging, 3D mapping too. This isn’t the only kid on the block now!
Great review!

Love the review Mike.! Excellent show!
Your Zander is definitely the American Walleye. Verrrrrry tasty fish too!
The 2 metal studs on the bottom are for continuity conduction, if it’s out of water, it won’t register continuity. The actual transducer is located at the flat spot on the bottom.
why does he use meters on the depth gauge and then switch to pounds/ounces later in the video?

I had to wiki zander fish myself. Closely related to the walleye apparently.
have you tested the deeper pro or pro plus? I have a deeper pro and not impressed.
Whats holding that big rod & reel up on the wall & shelf under the Shark mouth??
A big screw and rawlplug ? Or are you looking at the row of Marlin bills ?
How well does this work on slightly rough water, waves like a foot or two?

It might be able to locate the tiny fish or bait shoals that the trout are feeding on.But check it out before you buy it.Read other reviews etc.
At £150 I'd hate to cast it into a tree!
This is definitely a must have for any fisherman
Lol no. A must have is a fishing rod, line and bait. This doesn't come close.
Meh. Rod's optional :)
agree
There are a few competing products: iBobber, FishHunter and Vexilar SP100. deeper seems to be a better device based on reviews and quality of app.
DanLewis All the competitors to Deeper function well, but they all lack the vast array of functions that Deeper has. Deeper can be compared with some really high end fish finders when you look at all the functions it has.
congrats on the zed!
what is it like to cast? as in is it easy to cast and how far roughly can u cast it. keep up the good work
youpoptube1 As long as you use a strong rod and strong line you can cast it pretty far. We have found that optimal distance is about 30 metres
oh okay so its not too hard to use. what test curve rod do you usually use for it and whats the lest powerful test curve you have used this with? btw love the videos especially all the carp and coarse ones lately
youpoptube1 It is about 3.5 oz so any rod that can cast that and you should be ok. Glad you like the videos.
@@TAFishing does it work offline?? A lot of places i fish i dont have internet signal, dont need the "offline maps" but need the sonar
Does this work on canals or fast running rivers
When I have tried it yes it does
you have too run too keep up with it ,then remember too turn your phone on. doh.
What is the range on the device? Will it survive multiple 100yard casts?
+Dan Barton 100 yards? You stupid douche!
can I use it in my inflatable boat while running the boat? is it able to read the data in this case?
+Aboud Bakkour I believe they do a boat mount that you can attach the deeper to your boat. Providing you do slow trolling you should be fine
At grafham water you can catch 20 pound Zander
Awesome toy great review Mike. You new to cast to them tree's without it though didn't ya. Stay cool.
looks just like a walleye
I wonder if this would work in the harbour. Is it salt water proof? Of course a crack off would be a disaster

I suppose you could hang it over the side of a boat or kayak, but rather expensive if you don't already have a smartphone.
prince gerald Dont you have one already?
Marius Hansen
I have a dedicated fishfinder and a separate chart plotter two actually.
prince gerald If you compare the functions on the Deeper compared to other fish finders you will find that it actually is much cheaper than any comparable device.
