I checked the rulebook and you can only eliminate cards from your hand, discard pile or cards you played and activated that turn (page 10 on the Strategy Tip box). So no more eliminating cards from your deck. :D
@@OneStopCoopShop The rule is mentioned previously on page 9 in relation to the Soothe ability when burning Brass but it isn't clear if it only applies to that ability. So it's only on that Strategy Tip box that it states that is also the case for Mission cards. Yeah, this should have been explained way better.
Great play through, thank you. If I could make a suggestion... maybe try not to hold the cards so close to the camera and wave them around, it's very disorienting. If your goal is for viewers to read the cards, then they shouldn't be in motion :D But if you don't care if we read them, maybe don't put them right up close to the camera. (Example at 14:20, you flash/wave a card so fast I had to back up and pause to figure out what part of the card was relevant) Thanks again for the informative playthrough!
Nothing really new under the sun here for veteran deckbuilding fans. It’s more for folks coming in through the IP. We’ll see if future xpacs give it more legs.
Great video! question, if The Lord Ruler does 4 of damage, and you parry it with the Hazekillers (that have 3 defense), why are you parrying with the Pewterarm too? shouldn't apply the same rule that we use to attack, like, you need the equal number or more, to destroy a shield? Thank you!
I thought the rule was that whenever you buy a card, it goes to your discard. I didn’t see you do that with confrontation. Don’t know if I missed something
Watched a Man&Meeple play, and they too would forget to move their level cube. Just a thought. Would it help if you put something on top of your draw deck, with the idea of - when I remove this I move my cube. Then after drawing you place it back atop your deck.
I tried something like that off camera. Clunky. Have to remember to put the thing on the deck every turn. I just think it isn’t a smoothly implemented mechanism.
@@OneStopCoopShop Right. Those turn maintenance aspects in games and be troublesome sometimes, for various reasons. Not sure how to best manage this one.
At 16:00 I think there is a rule error. You are not supposed to play metals directly on allies. Instead their ability triggers when you burn that metal on a straight up ability card.
You can play medals independently of abilities to trigger allies and savant abilities. I just put it on the ally to illustrate where it’s being burned.
@@OneStopCoopShop Sorry to be a pain I'm just trying to figure things out ^^ : I think at 26:30 the shields should be destroyed left to right so with 4 you had enough for the 2 but you would have lost the remaining 2 on the 3 shield.
How do you think this compares to other Deck builders like Marvel Legendary, Alien Franchise Legendary, or Resident Evil? Not sure I need a fourth deck builder, heh.
@@OneStopCoopShop @tigersfan61979 The box does look like it has a lot of extra space for expansion cards, and I'd be willing to bet they'd throw in another boss or variations on the boss fights
@ i’ve been trying to wean myself off sleeving everything but given the similarities to star realms and the constant shuffling, you really need better card stock and the dilemma is going to be that any expansions will use the same thin stock.
Just finished the last book of Era 1 and now I’m learning the game this week! Thank you for the overview, so excited to play it!
You are very welcome!

Wow, what a horrible place for such an important rule. But thank you!

Just preordered.
This game looks impressive and fun.

Thanks Jason. I love the books. Not sure I need another deckbuilder though. Might be a want in trade game down the road.

I loved the book series and excited for the video.
Anyone who is surprised by the complexity of the game doesn't know master Sanderson's style XD
Great video! Just a small correction: when dealing damage to adversaries to take out their shields you have to do it from left to right.
Dislike that rule :).
@OneStopCoopShop Fair enough 👌

If the damage number exceeds the shield on one guardian, the other has to take the rest.

@Oniros503 good catch. What a silly rule!
At 53:26 You should have earned 2 atiums

Doesn’t bust the genre. If you have some you’re happy with, you’re probably good.
@@OneStopCoopShop Thanks.
This seems like a step up from most deck builders. The multi-use nature of the cards is not common in many deck builders
Hey Jason, thanks for sharing. Is there any boss variety in this game? Or is it always the same?
Same basic card.

How long would you take to play outside The cameras?
For an average game, if a video is an hour, planning adds 30 mins or so.
@@OneStopCoopShopWhat you mean by planning? Bcs playing off câmera you still need plan no?
@henriqueribeiro4954 All my plays are on camera. Choosing what to buy and how to play are off camera.
Well this is a first... im first... great video
Thanks!
Disappointing amount of wear on those cards already.
I'm resigned to immediately sleeving all games at this point.

I hated the books. Hope the game is funner.
