    I got excited there for a minute thinking you were at Dunvegan Castle. The castle of Clan McLeod of which my surname is a part of. Another viewer said it was another castle though. Either way, I’m very envious of your travels. Enjoy them and I hope you have new videos soon. I know it can take some time to recover from the loss of a pet. Hope to see more videos soon!

    I love your spirit and humour. I tried to do something similar, but I caved in and went in a hotel. I am now in Oban. I intend to stay here. Scotland is amazing, the people are so warm and welcoming, and what a place to go on an adventure. I love you editing too, you do really good vlogs. mine are done on a rubbish camera and I cant edit to save my life haha. enjoy your trip )

    You nailed it Pam - there is no rush to do anything! That place is Eileen Donan Castle and you are parked in one of my all time favourite spots. We also stopped in the same place in the bit before that clip. The view is spectacular and videos just don't do it justice. At 6.30 we also stopped there overnight overlooking the Loch at Stromferry. It's just a few miles North East of Kyle of Lochalsh. This is just uncanny!!! 😀. Just sent you some 'coffees'. If you didn't get to Plockton you must do it next time.

    Pam, if you get the chance seek out a place named Glen Orchy but preferably out of the judge season. It runs South East of Dalmally to Bridge of Orchy. It was where they filmed scenes from Rob Roy. The scenery and wildlife are nothing short of spectacular. Plenty of wildcamping spots. I and my wife spent many happy times there and one not so happy when we were hit by a tornado. It sounded like and express train coming up the glen and we felt like we had been hit by one. The river rose at such an alarming rate it was hard to comprehend. Fortunately events like that a very rare in this country yet, in it's own way it was rather exciting, if a little scary. 😀

    Marina, concerning the subject of filtering your water? Maybe a dumb question or two here, but would it not be more advantageous to boil your drinking water?? Also knowing you are a vegan, does such a belief system allow you to enjoy raw honey?? (I used to be a bee keeper) I enjoy your rural and scenic videos! Phil South Carolina (USA)

  • @marks-0-0
    @marks-0-0 6 років тому +1

    Hi Marina, love your diaries they are fun and interesting. Can I suggest something for your water collection. Instead of squeezing the bottle as you do maybe you could have a gravity system that you just hang up on the tailgate. The bottle with river water would just need a handle/hook on top and have a hole in it to allow air in as the water passes through the filter. Hope that makes sense ☺

    • @WildSheGoes
      @WildSheGoes  6 років тому

      Hi Mark, that is a good idea, however I have not found any small (and cheap) gravity water filters so far. I like this one because i can also bring it with me while hiking but it's true it is a pain to fill bottles with it.

    • @marks-0-0
      @marks-0-0 6 років тому

      I might be confused Marina, i thought the one you have could be left to drip through into the lower bottle...? I'll have to look into the options then cheers

      Just did some reading up and saw something mad. Not sure how complete it would be but apparently you can filter water through Pine tree branches!! Something to do with the cells inside, search for Xylem water filter haha

    Ah Scotland is beautiful!! Dunvegan castle a must and Skye is gorgeous. For the water filtering you might find these filtering systems handful, not the cheapest but very efficient. Not affiliated with them in anyway but I've been using them in my camper van for a while, specially the waterbag which is gravity fed and thus very convenient .

    J’ai aimé ton chant du Roi Lion 🦁 près de la rivière, je vois que tu as trouvé un système pour le transfert d’eau mais faut avoir de la patience 🙄. Ne serai t’il pas possible d’acheter une petite pompe électrique ⚡️? C’est très beau l’ecosse, je découvre ce pays avec tes vidéos à travers ces images, c’est très sauvage, les nuits doivent être réparatrice. C’est très vivant l’été et plus agréable à vivre que le sud de l’Europe qui est beaucoup plus chaud et sec.
    Rentre tu en Angleterre 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 pour juillet-août ?

    • @WildSheGoes
      @WildSheGoes  6 років тому +1

      C'est vrai, l'Ecosse est magnifique! Je ne pense pas de rentrer en Angleterre cette éte. J'aimerais bien visiter l'ile de Harris, Lewis et Skye et aprés prendre le ferry! Il faut seulement trouver l'argent pour payer les ferrys qui ne sont pas donnée :) Oui, il y a surement des systemes plus pratiques pour filtrer l'eau mais j'aime bien ce lui-là car il est vraiment pas chère et il est bien pour l'ammener en rando. En plus ça m'oblige a ammeliorer ma patience :D

    • @Sam-gp9gw
      @Sam-gp9gw 6 років тому +1

      pamthevan Okay j’ai pensé que c’était simplement pour transvaser, alors oui c’est plutôt économique et plus sûr pour ta santé de filtrer l’eau. Surtout quand tu puises l’eau des rivières 🧐. Alors oui ça serait sympa que tu nous fasses voir les îles proches. Dommage que tu ne puisse pas te rendre en Islande 🇮🇸 c’est une destination à part qui est très sauvage et très difficile pour l’homme.

    Each of your vlogs is a lovely and much-needed breath of fresh air in my life! And you look so pretty in white! 😊
    I know exactly what you mean about long and boring tasks feeling different and even quite pleasant when you’re living at a slower pace - especially if you’re somewhere beautiful. Then indeed they can become quite relaxing and meditative. I love your term ‘practical meditation’ and am going to try to apply it to some of the more boring chores I have to do on a day-to-day basis! Not that I’ll have that lovely scenery to help me or the fact that I’m filtering my own water just taken from a waterfall to be proud of! I can try to pretend though, I guess! That’s what I so love about your lifestyle - the way that everything slows down and becomes literally about the basics of survival - you might be able to get bottled water from a supermarket but right now it’s what you need and so it all falls under the umbrella of ‘necessary’ which adds such meaning and resonance to a chore! It must feel very satisfying to be resourceful enough to be able to get your own water and not have to depend on others or even on money to get it for you...
    I love the way Odie seems to have taken over your bed when you drive - Misha does the same with my bed whenever I’m sitting somewhere else my bedroom - it’s basically his favourite place because it’s where he sees me resting most of the time, so it makes him feel like my equal (which of course he is!) whenever he goes to lie there too. Not to mention that it’s obviously the most comfortable spot!
    I actually have another question for you: how long have you had Odie and, before him, did you have other dogs in your life or was he the first? Misha is my first dog and now, looking back, I have absolutely no idea how I managed to live so long without having a dog to share my life with - it’s amazing how a dog can change one’s whole life! For me, he gave me a reason to live after going through a very, very long illness and he is definitely the best medicine I could have ever asked for!
    Thank you for another lovely vlog - and yet another dose of fresh air for my soul! 😊 xxx

    • @WildSheGoes
      @WildSheGoes  6 років тому +3

      Hi Tabitha, you are right I could get the water from the supermarket but as you said there is something very satisfying about knowing how to provide for oneself (plus no plastic which is a bonus). Oh Odie is not supposed to stay in my bed as it's quite dangerous. If I was to brake suddenly he would end right in the windscreen and probably break my neck on the way there. His place is beyond the passenger seat so that if I break we are both safe. Misha sounds like such a sweetheart and is a lucky dog to have a caring owner. Odie is my second dog, before hand I had a Labrador called "Vega" she was a family dog. I brought her over to England from Italy (when the rules for travelling with dogs changed) when she was about 10 or 12 but she died the year after. It was an incredibly sad time. I was not planning to get another dog but after Vega passed away I would go and walk doggies at the local shelter just to get some "doggy time". That's where I saw Odie and it was love at first sight (my sister always makes fun of me cause she sais my eyes turned into hearts when I first saw him). Thank you Tabitha for always taking the time to write those lovely thoughtful comments I always look forward to read them! Hugs to you and Misha
