Great video, brought back a lot of old memories. Still have the car, but will sell for the right price. The car is in South Florida, not far from the Swap Shop.
Peter and Gary, keep these UA-cam videos coming. The history, stories, pictures and your genuine enthusiasm makes it very enjoyable to watch and learn.
Please keep these discussion videos coming! I truly enjoyed this, and my son who is also a car geek (age 20) listened and laughed as well. You are right that it is the stories that bring the history of these cars alive. Thank you.
This was awesome! I watched the Dream Car show back when it originally aired. Too see this now. Where the cars are at, impromptu stories like the ones Harley told. Wow. That was just awesome. I have so many more questions
What a great memory! Thanks for sharing! Dream Car Garage was a very interesting and informative show! I wish Tom could have been there to reminisce he is really missed!
Hey guys thanks for this, this was an incredible story. So nice to see Tom again, I watched you two every week back then. Met Tom a few times around Burlington, Hamilton area, always while he was eating, even then he recognized me and was always enthusiastic and ready to talk cars, just an awesome guy, much missed in the car world. Love the "old" clips keep 'em coming, again love it, thanks so much.
When the video started I thought it was an old episode,I thought look how young Peter looks. Then I was like Damn that's not him that's his son . Anyway loved the Corvette ,big fan of John greenwood and that whole era of cars. Love to see you get your hands on a Dekon monza
It was theThunderbird Drive-in and had 7 or 8 screens and the one mentioned was my favorite and the ad vert used to say "and don't forget to get your ice cold Busch at the connession stand" lol, used to live 3 or 4 blocks away that sure was a long time ago
You got to ask yourself, do you really NEED a car host like Tom... or do you just WANT to have him back, because he was your favorite TV car host? I sure miss his childish enthusiasm. Rest In Peace Tom... We remember you well, and always.
Peter and Gary. This in my opinion is one of the best shows yet. Picking a car and talking about the history of the car and owner is very interesting 👍👍👍
I’ve been to legendary a few times already. Tanya and I are planning a trip to Niagra when we can travel. I will be taking her to see your cars for sure.
That was really fun and a great trip down memory lane. I watched that episode when it came out. It still has the same drool factor with that collection in the middle of a flea market. Fun stuff, Thanks!
Lol, Preston Henn was a real character. He owned a second flea market location that was about 5 miles away. It wasn't nearly as big as the one in this episode. He also had a small circus that ran a few times a day. We miss him down here. Edit: I haven't been there in a while, but yes its still there, his family sold all the cars though.
Great finding this channel and program, and seeing Peter and Gary again! Their Velocity/Motor Trend channel series was so much better than most of the crap shows now on it. A great article about the Competizione in the Fall 2020 issue of Prancing Horse. An amazing history and terrific story.
Man I used to watch the old dream car garage tv in my p.js on Saturday mornings on the speed network when I was like 10-12 years old lol here I am now and still love what you guys do and the new generation taking it on 👍
I say on the right day, with the right collectors present at the right auction house, that car would command 90-100 million. It’s background story and history is probably worth 10-15 million by itself!!! Lol. Great episode guys...your passion is unrivaled 👊🏻. Oh and btw, who owns the car currently?
@@legendarymotorcar Great, back in 88 in the local AutoTrader magazine I saw an add for an AC cobra with a Ghia body. Went to check it out and there in a barn sat a black, dusty old race car. It had a Hollman & Moody side oiler lump in it. The guy was asking 10k for it. My late father said what can you do with that, it's just an old racing car, plus the man had said it was the only one with that body. Anyway I didn't buy it. Saw the car online a few years back [now red in color] and now know the history. Hahaha, that's how it goes.
Ferrari ownership is a lifestyle once you buy/join/belong to the "Ferrari Family" you never look back, any 275 GTB, NART Spyders, go for 8 figures as well, only 10 are out there...one is for sale right now in Hemmings this month...bring $$$$$$$$
The other 2 275 GTB Competizione Speciales which Harley Cluxton speaks about were chassis numbers 06701, which sold for $26.4 million in 2014, owned by Leslie Wexner and chassis 07185 owned by Robson Walton. Neither have any in period competition history.
I know of a guy who bought a Ferrari GTO in the late sixties and held onto it for about a decade and then sold it at the very end of 1979 for about $13000. But he was really pleased with himself at the time because he made a $3000\ profit LOL . WHO knew.. ?
I was there a few years ago with my family, truly an amazing collection. I had no idea how rare that Ferrari was. He also had some awesome Porsche race cars. I wonder if any of his cars are still there at the flea market?
@@legendarymotorcar LOL nothing I can recall . I do recall being there one weekend and I hear some one just tearing up a guitar. Im like I got too see who this is. Well we go around the corner and I think they had a skating rink or something to that effect there. Well in the middle of this rink is sitting Roy Clark jamming away ! Well I got to talk to him for a bit between sets. Super nice guy he was.
Great show! I had the privilege of detailing the 275 GTB-C Speciale for several years. I also have some of the best HD footage as I was detailing this jewel. I was able to film everything I detailed. Especially the engine and undercarriage. In 2014 we entered the 275 at Cavallino Classic. @@legendarymotorcar I subscribe to Russel Matthews channel. The feedback you get may not show much interest and you may conclude that it is not worth it but this is a long haul type thing and you have to give people time to get onboard. If you see this channel and your other content in terms of a long term rather than short term project your efforts will bear fruit.
