One of the most effective ways of getting the airy tone is transcribing some Chet Baker, especially the recordings his tone is airy. Also imagining the sound how you want to be works nicely

Till Brünner does this very nicely. His trumpet almost sounds like a flute sometimes.

I don’t know where it originated....maybe from the tenor saxophone world...But I can probably guess that it wasn’t on accident.

I have a problem, sometimes I get airy sound, when I don't really want to. Does it mean, that my lips are too separated?
