Can you still get the one time individual ride passes if you didn't get a fast pass when you don't want to wait an hour for a ride. Or is it now just the all in one fp.
Bit of Speculation from Project Horizon do you think that the delay of that project is to give it more time to develop and be enhanced even further bit like Air how that was meant for 1998 but required more tuning before it was ready, and it could also be linked to the closure of The Alton Towers Dungeons, The Later opening of WODW, and how Cuckoo Cars Driving does not fit Alton, also heard rumours that the owner of Flavio's Fabulous Fandango wants it back, so all this space could become one big area once again.
From what I know as fact, the original ride was MUCH better than what it is now. It has been scaled back with some great elements removed, the ride at one point was set to leave the show building and go outside but that has also been cut. Not sure what’s happening with it but from all of the knowledge I know it’s gone from an incredible unique concept for an indoor coaster to a copy and paste of another ride that’s already out there in the world. It’s still an ongoing discussion but cutting back on it constantly further proves it will NOT be a secret weapon
If you're only considering this a purely Alton Towers question about saving queue time then maybe it's worth it. But the wider question is whether it's worth ploughing this much money into an Alton Towers entry and fast pass when you could be probably spending the money much more wisely visiting a European park instead. Merlin as an operator is terrible with so many closed rides and ridiculous prices for everything, and I just hate giving them my money!
I mean that's a different discussion entirely and of course personal preference but for Towers (the park in the video) and how busy it gets during the holidays / busy periods, it's definitely something that makes the most of your day
So many rides down on a bank holiday. Merlin are just not up to it. Roll on Universal Great Britain, we need a competent theme park operator in this country.
Curse opened (eventually) just after we’d left for the event but Nemmy was a real shame. Operations at Towers have been rather bad this season I have to admit
I think RAP and fast pass are two seperate convos entirely. Fast pass being the optional route to skipping a queue and RAP being a service provided that is catered to those who cannot physically queue. It’s a shame what they’ve done with RAP regarding booking slots but on park there seems to be a much better throughout for RAP users. The one thing that has always made me laugh is how ridiculous it is that you have to queue at guest services for a card… a queue for those who shouldn’t not be queuing… there could automate a system to dispense cards yet they don’t bother 🤷♂️
@@LiftHillsandThrills The queue to collect RAP at Thorpe is never that bad, although I don’t get why Thorpe and Alton haven’t moved to a digital system like chessington and legoland. I agree it’s kinda silly having to queue to get a pass to not queue. I honestly think having a system where it’s the RAP user +1 by default and then charging extra per additional person up to +3 would be better like black pleasure beech does.
@@LiftHillsandThrills Sure is :( its harder because me and my son have RAP but we also split up sometimes when i go with family and this just adds extra layer on to go my kids would sometimes go night before can we go to chessington but now we can't just do that and they get upset :(
@@CFCDanielS20 I wish they handled it better (more allocation etc) but when you do get the slots the on-park experience is much more improved with various friends I know who have to use the system or if I'm their carer on certain days
I mean if you want to stand in queues all day and get on about two rides all day then the entry fee is fine but for busy days when sadly queues cannot ever be avoided the extra cost more than justifies making the most out of your day. You'd need to follow a very specific route to 'beat the queues' we have a video on it which helps tremendously on busier days but some days (like this weekend) no tips and tricks in the world will help you to avoid the queues sadly.
Fast pass is for the ultra rich entitled families! It slows the main q down considerably. I hate fast pass with a passion. Teach your kids to q! The smugness! My favorite part of a theme pass visit is on a quiet day is seeing the rich in the fast pass q , not riding any faster than us minions. Rant over
It’s a fair comment to make but some people can’t queue, some don’t have the luxury of living next to the park, some travel overseas and want to experience the day. You certainly don’t have to be rich to get them although for a family it does get very pricey! But there’s always a reason for having them and as long as parks offer it then people should have the option.
Fast track is a waste of money and extortionatly overpriced. I judge every ride by the main queue time apart from Smiler with single rider which more rides could do with
Absolutely not a waste of money for those who want to enjoy their visit to the park without being stuck in queues. First time visitors, holiday makers, overseas visitors returning can all benefit from it
Fast passes are disgusting and shouldnt exist people with money can get a better day with more rides and less queueing than other people who have worked hard saved done without so they can have the same day out as everyone else sadly that is not the case they pay same as everyone else to get in etc only to see people with money get a better day than themselves and dont even care that theyre making the normal queues even longer for everyone else......shame on you !!!!!!!!
I can see your point but surely that’s down to park discretion / operations on whether or not they should have a fast pass system. Europa Park for example allow people to fast track for free, if the option is there (whether you agree with it or not) then people are well within their rights to use it and the parks profit as a result. From a business standpoint and a convenience standpoint it’s a no brainer. I get your point but unless the UK parks come around to your way of thinking it’s falling on deaf ears. Cheers for stopping by!
No love for good old air 🥲. Otherwise agreed, it’s just a much nicer day when your legs are not completely dead by the end of it. Also means getting on everything you want, even if it’s only a 1 day trip :)

@@Thatclimbingirl LEGOLAND / Chess works great it does make you wonder why it hasn’t been introduced at Towers / Thorpe
@@LiftHillsandThrills I think it’s down to poor internet and Merlin not wanting to spend money on IT, would be better though.

The smiler very very rough thses days
Last 3 inversions 🤮
I went to Port Aventura best 40 euro i spent
Porta is a park that DEMANDS fast track... My first and only visit there and it was a godsend!
For the price you pay for a park ticket and fast pass you could just about go to a European park!
But this is about Alton Towers… so good luck finding it in Europe 😂😝 I know what you’re saying though aha
It is now for majority of rap users now as dates get sold out now :(
It’s a shame isn’t it?! 😞

@@LiftHillsandThrills I’ve used it before
60 odd quid to get in and an extra 75 pounds on top definitely ain't worth it in a million years
I mean if you want to stand in queues all day and get on about two rides all day then the entry fee is fine but for busy days when sadly queues cannot ever be avoided the extra cost more than justifies making the most out of your day. You'd need to follow a very specific route to 'beat the queues' we have a video on it which helps tremendously on busier days but some days (like this weekend) no tips and tricks in the world will help you to avoid the queues sadly.
You get two rides for 60 quid and probably not your two favourites. You can’t really moan about that in the future if you prefer to be cheap
Absolutely not... I fast track that ride by simply walking past it!
