Friday Night Funkin' (often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source rhythm game first released as a demo in 2020 for a game jam. The game is developed by a small group called The Funkin' Crew Inc., with the four founding members being the Newgrounds users Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay revolves around hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.
The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam on October 5, 2020. An expanded demo was released on November 1, 2020, with updates being released in the following months. A full version backed on Kickstarter titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game is currently in development.

I like how you kind of explained metal halting .exe by the line, "cant fight something with no soul," showing that .exe's power is mainly based around souls and not physical strength
i think he's pretty strong tho, he probably forgot about metal because he can't torture him for fun y'know, because he's a robot with no soul, so exe didn't care much for him
People forget metal sonic is supposed to be a perfect counter for sonic with him being the same speed as him and probably more in strength and durability

I really enjoy the fact Metal Sonic can actually stand up to sonic.exe. Cause what better to fight with, then yourself.
Something I noticed at the beginning is (and I don't know if this was intentional or not) the anti-piracy is a great reference to the sonic pc port demo. For those who don't know, after lord X kills tails (or at least some point after) the game crashes and your given an anti-piracy screen. Your also given a text document on your desktop and every time you read it, the sonic on the anti-piracy screen get angrier and angrier till the window just closes and you can't open the game again. It really cool you referenced that. It also cool how instead of an fnf song with lyrics, this is an actual, original song. Great job! I hope to see more stuff like this!

So the sonic isn't meant to look like lord X. plus his disguised form doesn't have an X on his chest so it could just be him in his disguise form. Anyway I was just thought it was a cool reference In the animation.

This is hella underrated. I loved the animation when it first came out, and I'll be real, wasn't expecting a lot going in, but there wasn't one line where you dropped the ball. Every rhyme was impeccable and the consistency was astonishing! The only thing I could even critique was the effect on the voice made it a little hard to parce what he was saying, but it helped make it sound more ominous. Plus, that's what subtitles are for XD

From what i saw, right before EXE could claim Tails, Metal interfered, freeing Espio, Mighty, Espio, Amy Robotnik and Knuckles. While also saving Sonic with all of them escaping from EXE. Did I understand it right?

I didn't notice it but in the animation when metal attacks exe eventually sonics able to control his own body again which explains why we see him at the end

The line "cant fight something with no soul"proves that sonic.exe he can mostly fight souls turning them to puppets but metal is a program and has no soul and was able to get sonic soul and saved him proving that souless beings have a change to fight sonic.exe
I thought about that too, very interesting take on the ending.
I also noticed, as soon as he drags exe and pulls him thru the stage, he’s using his Maximum Overdrive attack from the classic games ( which can break thru anything, which he got into the (castle?) and saved everyone.
That was definitely awesome. Amazing lyrical cover.

I don't know if it was intentionnal, but when Metal Sonic speaks with emotion (basically just past the "Target Acquired"), he sounds just like Sonic with a filter, it's almost as if they fused or if Metal Sonic reprensented the last bastion of Sonic's will to stop Exe, something like that

first of all cute "you can't run" reference in the starting credits, second the lyrics are great, sonic.exe's twisted version of sonic personailty really comes out especially in the fight scene with knuckles, and the rest of this is just good, the glitched 'come here' and play with me reference is great, and then Metal's whole section about him having no soul so being immune to EXE's greatest trick, you know, soul stealing, and therefore relatively, kicking his ass, throwing him in the bin, most likely the recyling one, it's just good EXE stuff
So tldr: this is very very decent for your first fnf upload
