    Unfortunately everything can't help everybody. I really wished it would have worked! Back to the drawing board. I always get nervous seeing Nonverbal individuals go on new medications, you have to have someone around them who really understands the way they communicate to make sure they're okay. I'm glad Abbie is in GREAT hands, and hearts!!

      Too true! Non-verbal is so difficult, I was deciding between THC and anti-psychotics and the issue was excessive tummy gas so neither applied. Pretty sure these parents are hyper-vigilant. A psychologist, a quiet space, a bell for pain, simple sign for leave me alone have so far negated the need for drugs.

      Molly Sumner CBD has never worked for me either and I don't smoke or use thc. Although CBD oil is not the same and only has trace levels of thc in it. I think a lot has to do with tolerance as well. Then again there are a few essential oils that have amazing notice effects on me too. I've heard the Marinol pills have helped with some kids with severe ASD and seizures.

    CBD can often my symptoms worse if you take too much. Here in the UK its advised to start taking 1-2mg twice a day and build up very slowly. My niece started in a higher than usual dose and it made her 100x worse. So we left it a week went back started with 1mg in the morning and 1mg in the evening and built up to 25mg twice a day (over 6 months) and we found it so effective.

    My favorite part about watching your video’s is that Abbie is doing her thing in the background or of camera. Your family has become so use to her behavior where it does not effect your day to day tasks (within reason of course). You guys care and raise your beautiful daughter, raise and take care for Isaiah, you guys goto working, do your house chores, and at the end of the day you are being like a normal family would be. To me a loving family is… Caring, Trustworthy, demanding on each other, and most of loving each and every person in the family for who they are. I'm in the group whole plant access 4 autism support on Facebook. There's a ton of information there. For Autism, dosing too low can cause agitation. But unfortunately it can really be a guessing game. We use CW Advanced. 2 doses a day are our sweet spot. My non verbal kiddo had a language explosion. But it's not a miracle by any means and he's not just speaking sentences suddenly, it's the occasional word. He is pretty chill now and able to focus. But it can be pretty trial and error. Speech and occupational therapy go a long way. I wish we had ABA therapy because that would make a world of difference. Good job Abby! I love the shirts too! And LOL at working from home "peaceful environment"... thank you for another informative video.

      Fab Autism MoM Vlogs no problem! CBD oil is from marijuana but doesn't contain the thc that gets you high. Some people do require a tiny amount of thc though. It's really trial and error, hasn't been studied enough, and it's hard to find what works. I don't blame them for stopping. I hesitated to try because I don't want my son to be a guinea pig but I heard so many great things about it why not.

    So here’s my two cents as far as strictly CBD and Autism go, CBD is only one of the cannabinoids in the plant....and honestly it’s known for helping with inflammation, autoimmune issues and can(and I stress can) help with anxiety. Other cannabinoids like CBG and CBN are what really helps those with Autism. Unfortunately right now, those two cannabinoids are not isolated and sold like CBD is....the only way to get them is through specific strains on medical marijuana grown to contain high levels of CBN and CBG. Another thing with CBD is all brands are not equal, their are just so many variables and unlike medical marijuana that a Dr prescribed and assists with choosing the appropriate strain, you are kinda on your own with CBD. Lol can you tell how much time I’ve spent researching this. The medicinal value of CBD is great, just not so much with the particular issues Abbie faces due to autism.

      Ardysangel thats not how it works. CBD is great for autism, but it really depends on the concentration. It inhibits the parts of the brain that make you anxious. It does the total opposite of thc, so for hiperactive children, it could be great.

    • @PossumWrangler
      @PossumWrangler 4 роки тому +1

      Dilaisy Rodriguez that’s not been our experience with it at all, that said everybody processes things differently and what we have found is that CBD alone doesn’t really help with autism.....now as far as it working for hyperactivity, that’s a totally different thing!

Also, coming from someone who has a life long disability laughing is fine when it’s not done in a mocking way. The truth is as humans we all have something that we do that’s funny regardless of disability. It makes me so happy that even though she has to work her way through her autism she’s still able to experience the typical teenage attitude stage because that tends to be a part of our life that does teach us the discipline we need much later in life.

    I love seeing how invested you as parents are in learning/teaching about your child's condition. I have a friend whose sister has Rett's syndrome, and her parents pretty much ignore her and just let her watch tv all day every day, just because she can't talk.... it's heartbreaking 😔

    Over the 4th of July we had TONS of family come in town. We haven't had one family here in a while because they have a son on the spectrum and he doesn't deal with large crowds and new people very well. It's been over 10 years since they brought him with them and after watching you guys with Abbie I realize how much of a task it is for them and it was easier for me to chat with him and try to help incorporate him in things.
    He is verbal and read every movie poster in my Uncle's basement and started reciting every detail to everyone, so he enjoyed me asking questions. We attempted to have him play corn hole, which took a while because he stims with his stuffed animal and talks to it to calm down but we got to 10 points! lol I just wanted to let you know that watching you guys with Abbie really helped me understand and help with him while he was in town. I just love watching your family. :)

    I think when something works well for someone, they want it to work for everyone. Bodies are weird, though, and people can react so differently. I fight with a lot of insomnia with my fibromyalgia, and I've tried melatonin multiple times. Not only does it not make me sleep, it makes me so anxious that it intensifies the insomnia. It doesn't mean that melatonin doesn't work, it just means it doesn't work for me.

    I love how she is so calm when you were having her slow down. My ASD son over stuffs his mouth always and chokes a lot, if we do this he yells, hits us, hits his thighs, and throw himself on the floor. We have to do smaller portions so he won't choke.

    Everyone swears on melatonin for their kids but it doesn't phase my son either. Also we've tried cbd it hasnt done much of a difference but I'm glad it helps for some autistic people

      melatonin is naturally occurring in the body so i think it’s quite strange that it made your insomnia worse..

      ha lee Strange? Sure, my body reacts strangely to quite a few things. Whatever the reason, though, melatonin is not something that works for me.
