This is a really great resource. I'll definitely be following every part. This instrument is stunning in how much it can do with so little, and I'm sure this will save a lot of us a lot time figuring out the subtleties of this thing. Super helpful.
5:00 Back in 1999, a friend named Charlie Lang gave me a homemade Musique Concrete tape which included, among gobs of other stuff, killer demonstrations of ARP's ADSR pitch control not in an Odyssey but an Axxe. That was one of the reasons why an Axxe MkII was my first non-programmable synthesizer. Good choice, when you factor in how the Axxe was introduced and marketed as a stepping stone to the Odyssey.
Ultravox ( john foxx) called this a jewel of a synth ' The first punk rock synth' he says in an interview. Gary Numan also pushed this synth a lot in his albums (I die you die).
So you tune VCO to whatever note you want, then if I press a C on keyboard it will be a C? Im confused. So the tuning of the VCo is for the "sound" only, then the keyboard is a regular tuned keyboard?
Hi Marc, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you for providing such great videos!
Thank goodness you made these videos Mark! Things are starting to click which is awesome. It seemed pretty intimidating at first.
Thank you these videos has helped me. The content has helped me a lot into this new world as a beginner into the syth land.

Fantastic videos Marc. I was lost in all the knobs and sliders, but now I can see the light :-)
Woooooow. The Odyssey is finally arriving tomorrow! I always loved the sound character but these modulation possibilities are blowing my mind.
Great series. Thank you Mark!

I wish I can make music like this again, we need more of this music!!!
this video is awesome as technical guide, but definitely doesn't sell this synth until you get to 9:45 or so. FYI
