    Thank you for this video explaining the difference between the 2 suppressor lines! IN my head, I'm using the pneumonic device, in Suppressor Line X the "X" is for "Redir-X" (redirects) gas, and in Suppressor Line H the "H" focusses on being "Hushed".

    Outstanding understanding and explanation of this out of SIG! The “Silent Night seminar/demo” that’s conducted at times in gun stores w/a classroom/range is an outstanding opportunity to learn about suppressors/silencers completely and this video is an example of what to expect & the education to “Really Appreciate how elaborate SIG Suppressors really are!”

    I'd love to see some SLX cutaways. The blowback videos compare a DI M4 with a piston MCX. Kind of a deceptive comparison. A direct comparison on a DI gun would be nice to see.

    • @shirothehero0609
      @shirothehero0609 Рік тому

      I see what you and others mean by deceptive - but if you listened, the goal is a Suppressed gun = M4 without can. DI guns by nature will never be able to achieve that by way of DI's functional premise. Any DI gun with a can, will always emit more chamber and receiver emissions than a DI gun without - regardless of the gasblock or bolt carrier or upper receiver tweaks made.
      That's why they designed a system, versus simply a high flow can (like oss) with low noise suppression, but high flow.
      Building the system with a piston (like the NGSW submission), AND a can enables them to achieve the required target.

    • @letsgobrandon416
      @letsgobrandon416 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I noticed that. However, given that the venting through the bolt of an AR is part of it's design, they likely had to submit the suppressor packaged with an MCX in order to meet the military goals. YES, Sig should have admitted this. However the MCX is also known for being quite gassy with suppressors, so they didn't exactly cherry pick a gun that gave them an advantage. They would have to use a piston design anyway, so they used the one they make. But yes, SIg a bit of a disclaimer is in order here ** short stroke piston designs only **

    • @shirothehero0609
      @shirothehero0609 Рік тому +2

      Nice try? Do you even get the point of this - it's a SYSTEM.
      You literally cannot get what the gov and SOCOM requested with a DI gun. (Why all the submitted NGSW designs were piston guns.) DIs basic functional premise prevents it to a large degree. Did you listen to his commentary? The goal is Can on gun = un suppressed DI M4 gas emission.
      People have tried with upper tricks and valves and bolt carrier tweaks and gas blocks and sealed or vented charging handles, but you can't get away from excess gas and back pressure gas venting into the receiver - it follows the path of least resistance. High pressure wants to equalize with low pressure. The system is designed with a piston specifically because a DI gun literally vents that shit into the receiver vis a vis your face.
      Di guns with cans are not all amazing - I've got several and own AAC, Gemtech, Sico, Sig, Q and Dead Air cans. It's not a knock on DI guns, mine run like tops dirty or clean, I love them. Adjustable blocks help, but there is always shit in your face to some degree. Pistons are much better.
      Back pressure in piston guns is still a bitch, but a higher flowing can means less chamber venting versus chamber and gas tube venting.
      A high flow can with a piston is literally the only way to truly prevent a semi/autoloader from gas in the face without specifically tuning the gun, ammo and the silencer for optimal operation together, like a system.

      @@shirothehero0609 please re-read my comment again until you understand it. My comment (from 18 months ago) was specifically related to the disingenuous suppressor-specific comparison footage where they compare their suppressor on a piston gun to a “standard suppressor” on a DI gun. Not to an unsuppressed DI gun like you’re trying to make it seem. It’s cool that you have lots of neat and expensive possessions, but so does pretty much everyone in this space and it doesn’t make anyone more or less right so mentioning it is pointless. Actually now that I think of it this whole conversation is pointless since you’re so late to the party. @@letsgobrandon416 short story as I've gotta give SIG a lil bit of credit here. I never jumped on the mcx bandwagon prior but have always been a "user/semi collector of military rifles/clones" I like all of them and appreciate all variations so when the spear was adopted by us military it got my attention. Plus they definitely look badass in fde. Ive got enough trigger time behind many of comparable 556 rifles suppressed with surefire rc2 and imo, the spear LT isn't that bad on gas. In fact, id be willing to say it does very well considering there's no supressor setting on gas valve. With that said, all of my suppressed shooting has been with 1 supressor, the rc2. Obviously different suppressors will have different results. I have the 11.5 and the 16" spear lt both in 556. In their factory configuration, the lt obviously does better when compared to di guns like mk18 or 11.5 urgi as it's a piston driven but when compared to another piston gun such as a PWS mk111 mod2M, my personal fav for suppression, it doesnt shine as bright. Don't gete wrong tho, the SIG isn't bad At all. It actually surprised me how well it did compared to the PWS which has 3 gas settings. 1-Adverse, 2-normal, and 3-supressed. I find the PWS to be one of the most underrated yet best supressor hosts on the market currently when referring to 556 rifles and the SIG lt has comparable performance when suppressed. And SIG does it without a supressor setting. The downside tho is that it does seem to spit tons of gas/carbon out at the piston but very little seems to be making it back to me. Im not saying it's perfect but have to give credit where it's do. I damn sure can't wait to get my hands on their slx can to see how it does with a low back pressure can.
