  • Missed a few abilities in here, like Ambush, but whatever. Still a pretty good introduction.

These theory craft videos make me think of games in ways I never have.

I agree. The most important think o have gotten from this channel was the different ways to engage the hobby

I don’t know why my post disappeared. Thanks, UA-cam!
Anyway, I would love to see something less abstract, like one player escorting a treasure-laden wagon across the field, and the other player trying to take possession of it.
Or the objective could be a specific person in the wagon instead of treasure.

@dartmart9263 I could easily grab a scenario from Dragon Rampant, and see how well they work with OPR...

I’ll have to tell War Mutt about this vid.
Amen on not being a list builder. I really don’t enjoy that process.
I just want to “simulate” a battle where there are objectives and motivations for the conflict. I want to play it out based on the armies you have.
Though I wonder if it impacts my enjoyment because I’m not playing in such a way that I will win…
I wonder if this is some of the reasons I’ve moved out of minis.
This is t making any sense. Looks like I have some thinking to do.
    Geez, ramble over.

@@WARdROBEPlaysWWII He was definitely an inspiration for this video. His deep analysis of hex and counter games is some of the best on the internet.

I enjoy the theory craft. I have always enjoyed theory craft just as much as playing any game. Even computer games, when I was younger I would spend more time reading strategies for Civilization IV then playing (and I played a lot) keep them coming!

Thank you for reminding us to stretch the old brain muscles every now and then.

Great discussion regarding placement and in-game considerations of objectives.

Aragorn is/was a Ranger nicknamed Strider, I think confusion comes from this, although I'm sure Aragorn could also scout. Nice discussion about actually playing the game.

Good analysis. There are some points you can't come up with yourself. I wouldn't be risky enough to place all the objectives before one of the zones. 😗

How is this any different than building the optimal army list? You're placing objectives optimally. Applying out of game concepts in-game.
