Yo! Any dynamic mic will Work in a live setting, any condenser mic for Studio Work. I used a Shure KSM32. You want the mic to be in front of the sax, not down pointed at the bell
Off axis sound is best, you don’t want your airflow blowing directly into the mic capsule. And extra attention should be placed on the room/space you’re recording in. With higher melodic instruments like ocarina and time whistle, what you’re recording is really something like 70% source instrument, 30% room reflections. Hope that helps!
+Вячеслав Аркатов the MK219 should be fine for recording recorder. Just make sure you're recording from the front not the bottom and make sure your room sounds good! Thanks!
Nice video! Any tips for recording the trumpet? I've got a couple of good mics and a mixer but when i record myself and upload to UA-cam my the audio isn't that good. I am not using any editing software though.
+Nick hey nick! I play trumpet myself. Be sure to make sure the trumpet isn't overloading your mic or pre-amp. Since it's so loud, that's mostly likely what's happening. But getting some editing software would definitely shed some light on why your audio isn't where you want it to be.
@@WillBorza Knew it! Had you pegged as a trumpet player. But then I'm seeing this acoustic guitar and... *jaw drops* Wurlitzer in these other, older vids, and now thinking you may be a bit of a multi-instrumentalist.
Hey there! If you have a room that sounds wonderful, go for a condenser mic like a Neumann U67. If your room isn’t well treated and doesn’t have a “desirable” reverb sound, go with a dynamic mic like maybe a Shure SM7B
Earthworks QTC40...clearest, most detailed mic I've ever used. Winds, guitars, strings. Worth the investment.
Earthworks is GREAT!
Thank you.
Flutist who just got a condenser mic - thanks!
interesting, i just checked and my ksm 32 got the bigger sparser mesh, not tight mesh
What microphone did you use? What mic would you use to record a Soprano Saxophone and how would you best mic it?

Nice video. What's a good preamp for recording flute?
Thanks for watching! I’d probably go for a tube amp to keep things warm and round. Maybe something by Manley or UAD
Something for the indian bamboo flute esp. for home recording ??
Maybe a Shure KSM137. If you have the budget, Neumann U47 would be ideal
@@WillBorza oh okay thanks !
Lot of white noise in the video

Nice , what microphone you suggest to use for recording panflute ?
Depends on the application of that panflute.... but probably a condenser pencil mic like the Shure KSM137
I mainly do panflute recording at home, any suggestions for usb condenser mic ?
I like the ones by Apogee and Blue!
