Those FX guns could be a dream and a nightmare for a tinkerer like me. Look at all those grub screws lol. So complex they need to make them more simple.

My FX wildcat .25 came to me shooting at 888., according to the test card from Air guns of Utah. I bought a crony and the gun is shooting 745. I adjusted the hammer clock wise and now I am shooting 763. My reg is at 148-150. AIR guns of Utah said the reg was to high for .25 ??????? I have watch your tune video 10 times. I would like to shoot 33.4 grain pellets or slugs. What can be done? Thanks Tim
When you increase the reg pressure you must find the max pellet speed for that pressure. Left Turn the pre-load adjustment screw until the pellet dont go harder, let say 285ms. Go 3 or 5% under that speed +-275ms by clockwise turning the pre-load adjustment screw, then you dont waste air en blow the pellet out of control
@@palmspar did that but now on PW7 the rifle does not engage . the cocking lever does not lock in position I cannot go more they maybe a full turn on the screw in order to prevent that, and with regs 160ish/125 bar I am shooting even less speed (around 780ft/s) then with factury reg pressure - 140/100 bar shooting 930 ft/s JSB 18gr any ideas ? tks
@@havattarahI’m in the same boat I raised my reg pressure to start shooting slugs kept adjusting hammer spring until the gun would no longer cycle a round before that I could only get up to 950 and I’m told I need to get to 1000 fps, not sure how I get there
@@svrfx3573 I cant remember exactly what I did to correct that in that occasion, sorry. but what I have learn having the maverick is that it is a balance between the Pressure and the Hammer. Start on low levels and go by increasing the reg pressure a bit and then little by little the hammer (small increases makes a big difference), then repeat until you get what you want or max out. Also there are different hammer weights on those guns, I had to buy a heavier hummer to get those speeds, my gun was shipped with the lighter of the hammers that they produce. apparently there are 3 (or 4?!) different hammer weights for those guns. The barrel size will also affect your max speeds that you can achieve. The heavier the hammer, the bigger the barrel and the more pressure on the reg, theoretically the higher speeds you will get. but again it will be a balance. Hope it helps... those FX guns are fantastic guns but they can be a bit frustrating to regulate at the beginning.

How do you do this on the FX Maverick….. because you cannot see the hammer spring adjuster like you can in the WCat?
