Do you know where I would find the bios chip on the LA-K991p motherboard for the Dell Chromebook 3100? I've searched all over and can't find anything showing where it is.

You can buy on Market Place, Like Aliexpress or amazon, Or can buy local marketplace on your country. If you have a faulty motherboard you can take it from there. Make sure the minimum size is the same. The bios chip used has a capacity of 1/2/4/8 MB, if your chips bios 4MB it can be replaced with 4MB or 8MB / 16MB. And there are also two variants. bios chip with a voltage of 3.3V and 1.8V. make sure the working voltage is the same.

@@ISP254 My friend decided to buy a used Dell motherboard to replace his rooted one with. So I now know where I am going to find our BIOS image. :) We also bought replacement Winbond W25Q128JVSIQ flash chips in the 8-pin SOIC package. This is the flash chip that his motherboard uses, and it has a pin called "/WP" (Write Protect) which I plan on lifting from the pad and tying to low (it's an active-low signal). Hopefully it will put a stop to this nonsense. If (and only if) I have to I will pull the chip off of the board (probably using chip quick since the area around the chip is pretty busy). Yes of course. Pin 1 needs to line up with pin 1 of whatever programmer you are using. Good morning, sorry to bother you, but I have seen that you are an electronics specialist and I was wondering if you could give me some solution. I have a Sindoh 3D 3DWOX 3D printer and when I inserted a USB flash drive to update the firmware, there was a power outage. Now only the Sindoh presentation screen is displayed and the image is frozen there. I have disconnected the printer from the power and even removed the internal battery from the motherboard but it remains the same. There is no way it does anything. It has been left frozen. I'm afraid the firmware has become corrupt. I have observed that the motherboard has some jumpers, I don't know if any of them have any use. Can you help me please? Any suggestions to force flashing the firmware? How can I find out which chip on the printer's motherboard is the EEPROM? Thank you very much in advance.
Man you won't be able to do this yourself. If it's a printer of value go to a repair shop and ask them do fix it for you. If it's not expensive, buy a new one just like the one you have. This way you will be able to use the cartridges.
Enough to melt the solder. It depends, because every hotair, even the same model and brand, can give different temperature then display shows, so you have to figure it out on ur own. Also it depends from thickness of the motherboard... Thicker requires more heat, thinner lower, because thin PCB acts like a bi-metal, so if u heat it up in one place, it may bend itself causing pernament PCB damage... The safest way to do that is preheat motherboard up to 120-150 degree Celsius and then remove/replace whatever u want.
