The giant mech was Zeffo in origin. They existed 25,000 years before the current time in Bad Batch. They had force users both light and dark side rulers and were technologically advanced. They died out but obviously the walker was left behind. Jedi: Fallen Order video game was the first to show the Zetho, and it is nice to have the lore confirmed in the Bad Batch. Just some useless info that hopefully explains just a little about the episode :)
Nerfs are some kind of farm animal judging from the fact that they can be herded (see "scruffy-looking nerf-herder" as an insult from Leia to Han). To me, that suggests that nerf nuggets are food. The amusing thing there is the suggestion that the bad batch are so strapped for credits that they took a side job as uber-eats delivery drivers.
This was an interesting 'filler' too. We saw something way outside of what's usually shown in Star Wars! Plus giant killer robot! I wonder what this will set up though
Filoni doesn't waste things. I curious where long-lost pre-republic death-robots (yay four-legged walkers!) are going to fit into the greater narrative.
@@funnylilgalreacts so I talked this over the the Star Wars expert at work. He says that the giant walker is almost identical to constructs in the Jedi Fallen Order video game (which is cannon). We both agree that we’ll see more, but think it will either be in the upcoming video game sequel to Jedi Fallen Order, or something animated (for cost reasons), but if it does jump to the live action stuff it will more likely be Skeleton Crew than season 3 of the Mandalorian. Though it is possible that Mando finds some of it in the ruins of Mandalore.
Definitely gave me Indiana Jones vibes... also made by Lucas Arts.... Phea actually reminds me of Treasure Planet for some reason. My only guess is that turning the crystal the way they did was a self-destruct. Very cool thing. Kind of reminds me of Rakata era tek... looked Selkath design though (Kotor references).
Much as I don't really think last week was filler because we got development of Tech as well as a deepening of Sid, I think the 'point' of this episode (as much as there needs to be one) is to show Omega is still a kid and she's learning about the world in a different way than the Batch boys :) And that mech was one of the most gloriously amazing "Well that escalated quickly" moments I've seen in a while!
Thanks for the watch. I'm enjoying the show, and enjoying you enjoying it, too. This episode... yeah... it was okay. Despite the cool giant killer robot, it was all too easy. I didn't feel any of the stakes. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't great. I'm still waiting to see how Omega will become important to the whole series ark. She's definitely got an 'important link' vibe going on. But, we'll see. Last week was pod racing. This week was Goonies treasure hunting. (I guess maybe the robot was One-Eye Willie.) I'm in for the duration, and am looking forward to the next episode. (Oh, by the way, I like your new opening music and animation. Nice!) Have a nice weekend.
I watched Megan! It’s not super scary but I liked it! The movie has a great message and that doll is a badass 😅 and she is played by a real person so the actress is incredibly talented
I watched M3GAN the other day and it's not as disturbing I thought it was going to be. The trailer made me say NOPE really loud at my tv but I still watched it
The treasure hunt was fun and it all looked great... but what ruined it a bit for me was that too much didn't seem to make much sense. The why and how the mech was put there. Why there even was a puzzle course. What happened after activation and deactivation. Also, the first blast was straight up. Looks great but it doesn't look like the head could tilt that far back. Yup, when things start bugging me I start questioning more lol.
Ok Angela I don't know if you're a video game gal, but if you've ever played "Zelda: Breath of the Wild", the Bad Batch basically unearthed a Divine Beast in this episode. I have no idea if you get that reference, but if you know, you know. :P But yeah I really loved the general atmosphere of Goonies/Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider adventure in this episode. It was most definitely filler, but it's the kind of filler I am ok with. It's fun and unexpected just adds some more delicious flavor to the Star Wars universe! Also, I reacted exactly the way you did when Mel got disintegrated! XD And I was relieved to hear that she backs up her droid! But when you think about it, they're different versions of Mel. So the one in this episode still died a horrible, fiery, violent death, and will just be replaced by a new one. :P Ok I am now done being a buzzkill. :P Oh yeah the music was really exceptional in this episode too! That was something I definitely took note of on my first viewing! I don't know who is scoring this show right now, but whoever they are, they are doing an incredible job, and are probably bound for great things!

Thank you! I was arguing this point with my brother. Glad someone paid attention to the echos in the game.
isnt it spelled zeffo?
Your face when Mel got disintegrated ... Priceless! Your reactions are The Best! 👍🏽Given!
Can't wait for your reactions to Andor ep. 11-12
Agreed that this was very indiana jones-esque. The music was phenomenal
That thing coming out of the mountain...:chef's kiss:

The music definitely gave me Raiders of the Lost Ark vibes.

We will definitely see that again! Maybe....Mando....?
@@funnylilgalreacts i'm guessing this is actually Zeffo-related and we might see more in Jedi survivor

Bad Batchers never say die!
Common tech support suggestion: always back up your droids. And the crystal's markings and design were certainly inspired by the Fifth Element. :)
There was so much inspiration pulled from other movies in this episode!

Loved teh nostalgia of this episode and yes also say Megan and loved it as well.
Not into jump scare slasher movies but thrillers like this was nice.
Loved this Indiana Jones inspired episode! Filoni is taking us down memory lane

The Bad Batch in the Temple of Doom😄
Phee Genoa and her friends are searching for ancient treasures until this happens….
I watched M3GAN the other day and it's not as disturbing I thought it was going to be. The trailer made me say NOPE really loud at my tv but I still watched it

Your rings are dope!
Phee doesn’t fib…. She *embellishes* - WAAY different thing. 😜
As someone who had/has a storyteller in her life, I see no difference. ***twitches***

Hunter is always moody.
"Filler episode"...There are few terms I hate more. What an absurd notion.
It’s a very loose term when it comes to Filoni. He doesn’t waste a second.
