Wait... its my first time seeing a capital ship at surface level of a planet... this would be so could to check out if it weren't because of the thargoids everywhere !
I was in this battle! That capital ship was sure useful against interceptors but you NEED to bring a field neutralizer with you if you're in a fight like this. Watched a few of our guys (and nearly me) fall out of the sky over and over. o7 y'all. Good luck.
Now that we know capital ships can sit above ground installations, it would be cool to do missions where you either have to drive one off or help it take over the base.
I dont think driving off capital ships would make sense unless there is pirate capital ships, right now in the game the only capital ships are owned by government
@@Rossilaz58 They are a thing, there was one taken over by Yuri Grom and there is lore of them being taken over by crews who defect and turn to piracy. Ruling out piracy even, if the powers go at each other's throats again then it could be a chance to do it.
This is educational, I am kitting my Combat ship with AX guns tonight when I get home. Will be joining my squadron in the fight soon. Clear skies to you Commander, Shepard out.
Your flying was decent, but I realized you didn't know anything once the Interceptors showed up, and firing your lasers at them didn't cool off your ship. You need some Thermal Vent beams if you want them to be useful, otherwise you're just painting a target on your back. Also the lasers themselves do very little damage to either Scouts or Interceptors (although they're still able to damage scouts meaningfully at around 23% damage); AX commanders usually use them to cool off the ship without using heatsinks.
Everybody was new at one point. The interceptors can't be fought conventionally since they're essentially immune to standard weapons and you have to aim for the hearts in their petals using AX or Guardian weapons when they light up and become exposed. On the other hand you can mop up scouts pretty effectively with just some AX multicannon turrets, which can be very helpful in a combat zone with other players.
We all have to start somewhere, right? You put up a pretty good fight for having never faced them before! If you want to read up on tactics and builds a little more, there are some good guides over at the AXI. You've got a great ship to fight them with tho. Good flying cmdr o7
The thargoid interceptors need their hearts to be destroyed before you can do any meaningful damage to them iirc. I think you can select them trough the subsystem targeting.
Yup... burst it down to stress the heart, then break. Each variant has more hearts so takes more fight. They aren't hard mechanically. But it scales up pretty drastically when the higher level interceptors show up.
@@cmdrreggit I wonder if the recently buffed human AX weapons could do that. Really not in the mood to go hunting for guardian weaponry right now so i hope so.
"Careful Commander, they could show up any minute!" lmao. Seriously though, these incursion zones are pretty deadly and just fatal to newbs or anyone not familiar with goid combat.
Seeing the Farragut-Class defending the settlement reminded me of the opening of ME3 when the human Dreadnaught was trying to protect the evacuating city.
I just did 45 hops away from the bubble to finally get some mats and bring my ships up to high enough standards to not just feed the interceptors whenever they arrive. I'll be back ASAP.
Ok… Capitol Ships are cool Capitol Ships on the surface of a planet… that’s awesome. It’d be so cool if there was an event that can occur where it’s a Frigate that’s being attacked by Thargoids, and is then moving along the surface as of it we’re trying to run from them. Imagine that!
