It's intriguing how effortless the Thargoids manage to open witchspace. They seem to delicately open the portal, while human drives feel more "explosive", tearing a gash in spacetime. This lends to the theory that they're from the witchspace dimension itself, only entering normal space to explore.
This very video suggests that they're from normal space. Why would explorers from witchspace need to harvest anything on planets let alone try to colonise whole regions of space. Why would they need to start a war with the Guardians and now humans?
@@rapturastechnically in elite lore, we started the war first. We fired the first shots. Thargoids technically have always been peaceful towards players until we started attacking them. The only reason they’ve ever attacked a player without being fired on is when around the motherships or carrying guardian artifacts.
As far as depictions of an alien species and how different they are, this is right up there. Their spaceships, how they collect resources, how they enter warp is all completely different.
Wow, that's some hella good timing there. Landed, already in your rover when the Thargoid jumps in, scans, picks up some stuff, and then just...peaces the frak out of there. And you got it all on camera. Good work!

For a while now the barnacle site on a planet in the coal sack nebula makes my srv jump 6km in the air as soon as it comes into contact with a Barnacle sticking out of the ground. Strange glitch
shame this game dont have any kind of "landable" city planet, imagine a bunch of these arriving, then the city defenses turning on, and lot of other ships taking off to fight them, that would be epic, if they made at least one single spot with that kind of event
Oh wow 👀 ED has so many things that can happen, some players never get to see or even know exist. The Thargoids was such a good move by ED. I've been playing ED since 2014 and i've yet to truly fight them 😆 Missed most of the war and so many encounters/locations. Recently got back into it and clips like this just prove that Frontier really don't care about ED as much as we want them to. They've got the perfect opportunity to own this genre. Everything about this encounter is Alien. Original and classic sci-fi. I've got to start getting into Thargoid combat. This clip was amazing

Vast? Elite Dangerous has over 400 billion systems, Eve has not even the tiniest miniscule fraction of that. I suggest you learn what the word 'vast' means.
@@krashd LOL. “400 billion” which all are procedurally generated and empty. Meaning it’s all the same repetitive garbage. This creates a living, breathing universe where every system can potentially be the stage for significant player-driven events. This does NOT happen in Elite Dangerous. That game will always lack the depth and richness that Eve has.

well humans stole their tech (fsd was reverse engineered from goids) and invade their space, thargoids are very territorial

@rapturas maybe they need resources (like meta alloys) that are rare in witch space or whatever.

sound design : 20/10.
This happened to me in total darkness - and in VR. I had goosebumps all over! Was one the wildest gaming experiences i've ever had!

Wow! I didn't know an interceptor could interact with a planet!
I think it’s part Odyssey expansion. As far as I know, Horizons doesn’t have this feature yet
@@0pine0nope, it is part of horizons, you can see them do this at the bug killer crash
They visit barnacle forests in horizons, I have seen it as well.
This is the game Frontier is leaving to the wayside, to focus on other projects.
What the fuck are they thinking?
I'm with the idea that this would easily become way bigger if they started to give a damn
Edit: they've started to give a damn now
dalla dalla bills$$$$$$$$$$$$
I had no idea of the encounters. I was in my srv when it happened too.
Almost shat myself since i was a few thousand LY from the bubble too.

Are Thargoids using hyperspace jumps for regular spaceships, like the freaking fleet carriers? Why is that?
reverse engineered technology. our FSDs came after the first war

Where was it ? When did that happen ?
