Great job on the hopper action, I think this is the first Amrep one I've seen. I only managed to get through the first 15min; I'll come back and watch the rest another time :P Clearly that blade doesn't struggle to keep up on this job, appears to feed every dump in a single sweep even though I gather it's programmed to cycle twice per lift eh? The load coming out of 7:57 was a nice wet one... that's kind of shit you don't wanna get covered in and I know that from experience haha That small amount of build up material on the RHS of the hopper was really annoying me, I just wanted it to all fall down so that edge was clean of any greens. Love that rubber strip or whatever it is which basically sweeps the blade during the cycle, makes it look so tidy :D So many different types of greens which get collected!

I loved this video. Do you have suggestions on what to use to mount the GoPro to the truck. I have been looking into this and saw how well this video looked. I love your content and hope to see you upload at least another 300 videos!

California Refuse Trucks thank you! I use a suction cup mount. The only things you need to know about it is that the surface your mounting it on has to be clean, and after you put it on you need to give it a good tug to make sure it's sturdy.

First off, congrats on 300 videos! I found the video very entertaining. It's interesting to see the packer on the move. I never realized that these trucks continuously pack, but then again, how often do you see an Amrep with a clogged hopper lol The liquid in green waste is nasty. Stained a pair of white pants because of that haha I think the most entertaining part of the video is seeing the yard waste eventually disappear into the hopper. I think it's very entertaining. I must say that this is easily my favorite angle out of all those different angles you've tried with the GoPro. 33:10 was a full bin! Nice little editing at 35:30 with the side to hopper cut. That actually would be pretty cool if you film the from the side but cut to the hopper for part 2. Did the driver go up and get the branch off the camera? Man that is one nice guy if he did. 36:57 was a real full hopper! And then it's all gone haha that's awesome. Great work Tony!

***** Thanks Aaron! They actually don't continuously pack; there was one spot with no carts for a good 1/2 mile and the packer stopped. I believe that you can set the packer to cycle a certain number of times after each cart, so it sorta does turn into continuous packing if the carts are close enough. That was the only part where it cut because it was the only time in this video with a distinctive cart that I could recognize from the ground, making it easy to know when to cut it. That was actually me who pushed the branch off, I signaled to the driver and then climbed up. But then he didn't realize I put the ladder down (which turns the auto packing off) so that was what resulted in the really full hopper (and some spillage). Thanks again!

As a plant lover, it is so sad to see the fate of those poor plants at 20:41. I could never do your job as I would be rescuing most of the plants on your route from ending up at the dump.

I'm planning on filming one of these but with ESD recycling on Monday. Do you have any last-minute tips for mounting the camera, convincing the driver to do it, or anything else I need to know?

+trashmonster26 make sure you wipe the surface you're mounting on clean, and give the camera a good tug to make sure it won't fall off. As for the driver, this driver I already knew really well and the company is really lax on safety rules so me climbing up the truck to mount the camera was no big deal. Not sure what San Diego's policies are when it comes to the ladder.

+WasteManTony Well, two ESD drivers and a supervisor said I can't strap anything on the truck. So, now we know their policy on the ladder.
