That's a big problem for me to fight against the willbenders. I can't survive their damage, even if they use most of the skills. So many boons, so many aegis...
Hey thanks! Willbenders can definitely be tricky to face because of how much damage they deal. But they tend to have a big giant burst and then quickly run out of cooldowns. So I recommend starting a fight against a willbender on the back foot. Start defensively with a defensive weapon and a defensive legend (such as hammer and Saint Victor), try to dodge and avoid as much of their burst as possible, and then when they run out of cooldowns then go aggressive and counter attack. Patience is key! Best of luck
My recent forays into WvW and yak babysitting made it clear to me that I had some work to do, so even as a non-PvPer this was pretty awesome. Thanks for posting! A couple of questions - Are you going to follow up with a L2P renegade video? That's the one I've yet to delve much into. - Do you dabble with condi builds at all? I generally prefer power builds (Timmy brain likes big numbers) but cele builds are pretty rock solid in pve/wvw
Thanks very much! I tend to stick to PVP mostly. WVW is a very different animal it's crazy. I've definitely thought about a renegade video, and have ran a couple polls on my channel to ask what people wanna see, and you're the first person to ask for renegade content! But as a personal preference I much prefer the instant feedback that power builds give when you nail a big combo. A condi Rev video is definitely something I'd consider making though
@@homage3 100% agreed- power is much more satisfying. @@rodrigomorais4184 Hey glad to hear you're learning the best class ;) I regret that I didn't explain this technique! I'm using an "about face" keybind to instantly turn my character around. Once turned around I press Z to roll forward
Absolutely! Builds are funny because everyone has their own play style, and what works for one person won't work as well for another. Another aspect is the fact that you enemies might be running different things that could counter you such as a condi heavy team comp for example. So here's a few examples you can go off, but I recommend changing some things around to suit your personal needs. Couple of questions on the Vinci dodge: 1 - What is the evade frame, if I want to actually dodge an attack? I keep being hit and dying mid jump. 2 - Can you clarify the key sequence for the dodge jump? First dodge and at some point jump? Or is the same dodge jump quick tap that all classes can do? P.S. Great vid BTW.
Questions are always welcome! 1. The evade frame is the entire length of the dodge, from when your feet leave the ground to when you touch back down. That being said - certain things can pull you out of a dodge. Dragon hunters F1 pull, warriors full counter pull, guard staff 5 wall, the ele staff earth wall (if you walk into them), and maybe some others others can CC you even if you're dodging at the time. It feels bad to be on the receiving end but it's only a handful of skills and you'll learn what to look out for. The big one is the dragon hunter F1 2. You want to dodge while holding W, then once you're at the peak of your dodge that's when you want to jump. It's different from other classes you don't press dodge and jump at the same time, there's a bit of a delay between the dodge and the jump. You can just dodge and then spam space bar until you see the timing for it!
Most of it is really understanding what is going on. Yesterday for instance, there was an Elementalist (I think more than one spec pulled it off) that just left me rooted in place/bouncing around or a loooooong time, enough for me to die without being able to react. I think it was a combination of stuns, push, pulls and/or immobilize. I was not able to move after the first stun using Reaver's Rage and I could not swap back to Assassin legend as it was on cooldown. Immobilize shuts down movement skills, including dodge and all the charge/get away skills. Basically I was trying to Reaver's Rage/Nomad's Advance/Phantom's Onslaught without success. Reaver's Rage does nothing for immobilize, that's why I think that's was what they used. If I knew what was going on, maybe I could have switched to blue alliance to use Tree Song to try to clear immobilize to then dodge/move away.
A lot of the clips used in this are under the best possible conditions, using a hilariously front loaded build using as much damage as possible, and heavily cherry picked.
