Always enjoy watching the skill of good power rev. I could never wrap my head around it, so I stick with condi, even if it doesn't seem to perform as well generally.
I agree, very hard to learn. Here's a couple tips! - Don't be aggressive when you don't have a legend swap ready - Don't spend so much of your energy that you have none left over to use defensive skills - use your movement speed to juke enemies and avoid damage! If you'd like more personalized help I'm kinda interested in doing some coaching content so maybe you record a few games and I can give you some pointers!
@@homage3 it would be great to comment other games and give tips. Saw something similar with WoW pvp commenting on subs' plays. I almost quit revenant (started multiclassing for legendary pvp backpeace), but your guide keep me trying. Keep up the great content!
Hey man, I'm new to guild wars 2 PvP and I used to play berserker warrior but ended up rerolling to revenant when they reworked Arcing slice. I love my revenant in PvE, it's an absolute blast but I have been having a really hard time in PvP. I only was able to hit gold 2 last year in my first season. Great gameplay. I love my Herald, but I have never played it in pvp. I love giving people perma-quickness, and near perma-stability in open-world pve. Thanks for showing this dimension of the class, very cool gameplay.
Very good vid. I want to play PvP and get the legendary back piece, but I’m on a mega losing streak. I just haven’t done PvP in so long, I’m really out of practice and unaware of the meta. This was helpful. Thank you.

What a great guide! For a newbie like me this has helped me alot, I think my main fault and why i die so much is i jump in pop odds to sword 3 and hope they die ahaha this has definitely changed my perspective. Props dude, hope to see more content from you.

I've been playing GW2 technically since vanilla, yet I've barely done anything beyond hot outside of pot story and 4 base mounts 😭 I recently picked it back up in kind of a big way for myself as I'm going in pretty solo, decided to use Rev and Mesmer since I'd never really touched them, fell inlove with both and am now maining Herald-Rev, I love using it in pvp and I'm proud of myself for doing a few of these things on my own, like casting Glint backwards while running 👏😤 lol But also there was a LOT of stuff in here that I wasn't familiar with at /all/ and I really appreciate you for that! Well 7 month later I did watch this, very helpful as I am looking into Spear / Mace Herold and I did not have any idea how to use the right side of the facets / jiro. This gave me some idea how to use them. Instead of using the first 3 facets, I saw you on never vids turning impossible odds on and off to get speed. Just random play or is there a reason? Facet of Strenght is the lowest priority or not? I see you usually use CC first, Elements and Chaos, then Heal and Blind defensively. I dont see you use F2 often. Not viable? On Jiro I thought Impossible Odds is a must have but now it seems its to expensive and others like Riposte and Jade are more valuable in for evade and CC.
I rarely use impossible odds because it costs a lot of energy and doesn't give that much extra damage in PVP. Like you said saving your energy for Riposting Shadows and/or Phase Traversal is usually the better bet. The F2 actually has been buffed since this video came out. It is a really nice skill now. But damage if you use it in shiro, and condi cleanse if you use it in glint.

Good video! :D Can you tell me your thought process of choosing weapon sets? I saw you was using 2x sword / staff or Greathersword / Hammer. Ive saw hammer got some changes on 19th March. :)
Thanks very much! Always appreciate nice comments. Dual swords is great for running around quickly and picking people off. You can also use the teleport on sword 5 to abuse terrain on maps like colleseum, khylo, and skyhammer. It is the most aggressive weapon though with little to keep you alive! Greatsword is a better all rounder. It has some sustain, movement, and better cleave which makes it better for those big team fights. Personal preference for which you prefer. But I'd say right now greatsword is a little stronger overall. The hammer is awesome, especially after the new buffs! Highly highly recommend trying it out. Very nice defensive weapon with a block and evade built in but still does great damage. Hammer 2 is still clunky but overall it's probably my favorite weapon on Rev right now!
