This is a model interviewer: prepared, knowledgeable, has watched his films, knows his style, asks pointed questions, knows when to stop talking and listen, actively listens, engages fluidly, comes across enthusiastic and genuine, no agenda other than creating a healthy and lively environment for all, and respectful. All in one is fairly rare. As a result I'm now a subscriber
Man, this is amazing. All the movies that Wes and Jason have made have meant so much to me. If I am ever famous or whatever I will beg and plead to be in one of their movies. Because I know that anything they do will be amazing. The Darjeeling taught me to let go and love my brother, The Life Aquatic, taught me to accept my faults and love my friends, The Royal Tenebaums was loving and forgiving family, Rushmore was love and friendship, and Bottlerocket was trust and brotherhood. Simply Amazing!
“Grew up in Houston TX, his father was an ad exec, his mom was an archeologist, he went to prep school where he wrote plays and made movies, studied philosophy in college, roommates with Owen Wilson” This does sound exactly like him!
I find it crazy that these two are such good friends. Wes is so shy and socially awkward and Jason is so outward talkative. I know people don't have to be the same kind of people to be friends but these two just don't seem like they could hang out together and it not be weird..
say what you will, Anderson has changed independent filmmaking the way Kubrick changed intelligent filmmaking. Before "Rushmore" and "The Royal Tenenbaums", there weren't films about high school outsiders and dysfunctional families; there's nothing but Coen Brothers, Tarantino, and Anderson (both of them) influenced films.
Highly stylized directors like Anderson have a distinct flavor that distinguishes them from the rest of the crop. This can be incredibly good or bad, depending on your taste.
george isn't a prick! He's the most relaxed and naturalistic interviewer on tv....he makes his guest feel comfortable. Is it just me or is the second half out of sync with audio/video??
thatmovieguy777 that was a cameo. HOWEVER, he co-wrote his first three films with Wes Anderson and he plays a significant character in Bottle Rocket and Tenenbaums. No idea why he didn't mention it
What about Jane? She was an object of desire. He wanted to talk to her, and in the beginning of the book she was all Holden could think about. Of course, that might just be because of her date with Stradlater. But the thing about Catcher in the Rye, it was about a boy who was not working to his potential in school because he didn't give a shit. Rushmore is about a boy that did to much aimed to high and loved the school for what it was beyond the classroom.
@chadfuckingdebeau haha when you said that i immediately thought about the scene in Rushmore when he let's the bees out in bill Murray's room and he walks out of the elevator in slow motion.
i do like all of wes;s movies. and it's your opinion why you dislike them and your untitled to your opinion. so i dont understand why your comment should be covered it's really dissapointed.
Why does everyone think the interviewer is so good? I think he is more trying to show off his research than trying to focus on the question and make a great interview. And he is repeatedly awkward, and I think you can that Wes and Jason don't appreciate a lot of his questions.
George Stroumboulopoulos I believe is his name, or maybe its Greg Stroumboulopoulos...Either way I agree, his brother Ed Stroumboulopoulos III, is also annoying. He has a show on HGTV called, Hall Closet Remodels and Remakes. Knows nothing about hall closet design, nothing!
I hate his film style and can't stand his movies in general for no particular reason. But he definetelly makes movies that click with a lot of people, im just not one of them. Maybe all the really pretentious hipsters that I have met, may be part of the reason why I cant stand his work. Not saying that his films are pretentious though.

This is probably my favorite Wes Andreson interview. Good questions, smart answers.
This is my third favorite, it's pretty good.
this guy is actually really good at interviewing
yeah but his shirt is horrendous.
@@nutcracke16
I mean it’s the 00s, what did you expect lol
@@Joela393 honestly!
Jeeeesus why am I so in love with jason? What a cute, funny, adorable guy :)
Jason Schwartzman is so beautiful
8 years later. I agree
I love him🤭
12years later I agree
“I love you too but I’m gonna mace you in the face!” Jason was so funny in Darjeeling. Love this film.
One of the most talented movie directors. The Grand Budapest Hotel was a revelation. I need to check out all his movies.
Mireille Kang Check out the film that Wes Anderson filmed and Jason Schwartzman debuted on: Rushmore!
I've seen all of them. He's great.
Darjeeling Limited is amazing! A must see. Budapest is a masterpiece.
I die for Jason's voice... He has crisp and delicious voice
For his voice? I would die for a giant hug from Jason ❤❤❤
Just saw Wes' new film "Moonrise Kingdom"! So quirky and wonderful :) Love it!!
who would ever turn down being in a wes anderson film!?
I know I wouldn’t
Put every Wes Anderson and Jason Schwartzman fan in a movie, boom the biggest ensemble of any of his movies
We would all get to be in one 👌
“Grew up in Houston TX, his father was an ad exec, his mom was an archeologist, he went to prep school where he wrote plays and made movies, studied philosophy in college, roommates with Owen Wilson”
This does sound exactly like him!
Aw this is a great interview. They're so honest and interesting. I love it!
I thought the interviewer was great! He asked good questions and seemed to know alot!
It's ironic that Wes Anderson smiles a lot yet makes movie where almost no one is smiling
Hmm... I didn't notice it until now
I smile when i watch them. Theyre quite funny; in a dry sort of way.
My high school was close to his would see it every day!
I loved the movie. Loved Grand Budapest to.
The movie is really really good I buy the DVD and I watch it probably 30 times and when I need to relax and have a good time I watched again
You just got a new fan. I know it's an older interview but dang that was so fun to listen
Love his films
the interviewer knows his stuff
I find it crazy that these two are such good friends. Wes is so shy and socially awkward and Jason is so outward talkative. I know people don't have to be the same kind of people to be friends but these two just don't seem like they could hang out together and it not be weird..
fantastic wes anderson!
best director ever
Yeaaaaaaahhh totally
Yes! 👍😎
I can't get enough of these guys. All three of them! Love

Love these guys!
Jason Schwartzman is literally Max Fischer
The intro was amazing
the interviewer is just the best jesus christ I enjoyed so much this. thank u everybody
Brilliant interview.
Major Wes Anderson blushing at 11:50

wes anderson looks like a mix between beck and spike jonze
I l😍ve this hair style😍
Best director out there
Highly stylized directors like Anderson have a distinct flavor that distinguishes them from the rest of the crop. This can be incredibly good or bad, depending on your taste.
Eeee jason is so cute!!
I know right? :D
Oh yeah!! And still is!! Although, this is my personal opinion, he looks a lot better without a mustache
Jason hit the nail on the head about audience interpretation/criticism at the end there.
believing in yourself is self confident, you can be confident and trust in something else, too
jason is such a dreamy shortstuff
Oh gosh I love that 2 guys
love schwartzman's sock!
this guy is a great interviewer
The Beck of filmmaking
Right!
How clever stars are😍😍(😊)
See Darjeeling its great!
Thanks for including the bio.
love jason's socks!
Love themmm
george isn't a prick! He's the most relaxed and naturalistic interviewer on tv....he makes his guest feel comfortable.
Is it just me or is the second half out of sync with audio/video??
Does anyone know the track that's at the very beginning if this video?
11:16 but what about Noah Baumbach and his cameo in The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. Oh I won't make a big deal about it...
thatmovieguy777 that was a cameo. HOWEVER, he co-wrote his first three films with Wes Anderson and he plays a significant character in Bottle Rocket and Tenenbaums. No idea why he didn't mention it
Who wouldn't want to be in a wes anderson film!!
Those fades on jasons denim!
all i was looking at haha
11:40 dat look
Jason: *Already 44*
Me: Still my cute, adorable man ❤❤❤
9:43 awee
he looks like a dandy genius ala oscar wilde
Yea i got that too, the audio and video go out of sync
11:38 lmao...
@AStopMotionChannel: I think you mean included, not omitted.
big fan
After seeing asteroid city… woah
jason schwartzman's jokes oh lordy.

i always thought wes anderson was british
what kind of world do we live in where i cant marry Wes Anderson? a cruel one.
@chadfuckingdebeau haha when you said that i immediately thought about the scene in Rushmore when he let's the bees out in bill Murray's room and he walks out of the elevator in slow motion.
jason is so hot
@carlo88moe I think he means that there isn't a lot of middle ground. It's usually EITHER a good or a bad thing.
Wes looks like Michael Cera at 00:52
Funny because Jason also starred in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World as Gideon Graves with Michael Cera being the titular character
Really? No comments about Stromboulopoulos? Maybe I'm behind the ball on this but that last name is... (insert here)
TheSpalding24 ginormous
Supercalifragilisticexpialidociously humongous
Charlie rose is a good american talk show host
@nowhitply "good or bad, depending on your taste" isnt that what EVERYTHING comes down to, saying it has no meaning anymore....
Rushmore is loosely based on The Catcher in the Rye. :)
@nowhitply
Very wise.
Aronofsky would be a signature example of this as well. I freakin worship everything he's made
Wes needs to direct a new Ghostbusters movie.
i do like all of wes;s movies. and it's your opinion why you dislike them and your untitled to your opinion. so i dont understand why your comment should be covered it's really dissapointed.
It might have been editing. But he cut that interview off quickly after he mentioned Roman Polanski.
I actually don't disagree, I'll stress "loosely" and leave it at that.
@mattsamallard I was thinking more like Beck...
@godardtruffaut I understand what your saying, and your comments are valuable... but im going to ignore that
😍
Why does everyone think the interviewer is so good? I think he is more trying to show off his research than trying to focus on the question and make a great interview. And he is repeatedly awkward, and I think you can that Wes and Jason don't appreciate a lot of his questions.
Ichabod Crane
t😍😍‥
not hating at all buy is Jason Schwartzman gay?
Shanaynay Ieatwatermelon nope. Married with two kids
l😍ng = very beautiful hair yours are!😍
I know, I was just saying I am not a fan of his work, I never said his work was bad.
no haha his not. why did you think that?
they weren't made they way anderson makes them...
The host is incredibly annoying
He might be annoying, but he knows what he's doing and he's asking great questions.
sucks from the get go.
I cant stand him. Too in your face aggressive.
lol like seinfeld
i think Darjeeling was more fun for the director than the audience...
Paul Thomas Andersen is fucking awesome
I hate his film style and can't stand his movies in general for no particular reason. But he definetelly makes movies that click with a lot of people, im just not one of them. Maybe all the really pretentious hipsters that I have met, may be part of the reason why I cant stand his work. Not saying that his films are pretentious though.
As an avid Wes Anderson fan, I can assure you they're definitely pretentious! It's what I love about them though XD
ARBORYST
you`re t😍😍 prince 😉I like short hair rather than ling😉
you keep using that word ... i do not think it means what you think it means
