To say God became a man contradicts what God Himself says. The problem is making up things about God or taking our ideas about God from other men from their own ideas rather than what God actually says about Himself. Where does God say that? Never, anywhere. The idea even contradicts what is said about God in the Bible. If you ask, does God change? People answer, no. If God could not be contained by the heavens, then how does he then change to be contained in less than that in a woman's uterus? Is God contradictory? Does God have needs? Is God eternal? Is God one? The answer is no to all of that once you accept the idea that God incarnated into a flesh body as a man.
Not even Jews, who share the same scripture Christians claim as well believe in that idea because it's not part of anything God ever revealed; not anything Jesus ever believed or taught. Do you even know where that idea came from and during what time period? Because James and the disciples didn't believe that. Christians during the first three centuries were not upon that. And just like some scholars ask, how did people who never met Jesus know better about him than those who did and learned directly from him? Why take their new ideas rather than what Jesus and the scripture HE followed said instead? It's nonsensical and false. If it's true, as it's a main doctrine of Christianity, then prove it's true.
If one's belief system hinges on this idea and it's from God, it would have to be provable or else God is not just or wise. That He sent all these prophets, including Jesus or worse as modern Christians say, came Himself and still failed to relay his message clearly? The Jews from his own people didn't know this or believe this for hundreds of years? Christians didn't have proof of this and it caused them fight amongst themselves bloodily? Christians had to meet, have councils, to decide who God was instead? What a lack of guidance. That can't be from God if it's not made clear.
