Advice for the driver? Sell the boat and truck and buy a bicycle. The operation of both are WAAAY over his head. Credit card Captain. Oh, by the way. When you lose traction, just give it a lot more gas. That usually works wonders. The shops that sell tires LOVE people like you.
Besides not using 4X4 the boat is so far back on the trailer instead of putting on tongue weight the boat is actually lifting the rear of the truck up so no traction on the rear tires !!!!
I was thinking the same thing. Most people use that handy wench on the front of the trailer to pull the boat all the way forward. It probably would’ve worked fine even in rear wheel drive if he had some weight on the wheels. 😂
It isn't the truck, it's the driver. The truck has a positive traction for the rear. It is engaged by pulling outward on the on the 4x4 mode knob. He can push the button back in and select 4 low or 4 high. If the front wheels don't engage, it have have a vacuum problem but the driver can manually engage the hubs by turning the hub locks on each of the front axles. He should RTFM, Read The F-ing Manual!
@@billysprague6219 I own an F250 and I did not know that. LOL! I alwyas lock in the hubs. AND, push the button. Disengage the 4x4's when done with the button, and then later on, unlock the hubs. I didn' tthink the truck was in 4x4 when the button wasn't pushed, and the hubs were still locked in? I can obviously tell, unlike this idiot. Because you don't turn well on drive pavement, etc. I know this, I would have pulled that bastard right out of their without there being a sound. Second rears slipped, I would say, "whats wrong with my 4x4's" truck would jump up and down if the 4x4's were locked in on drive pavement like that and any resistance.
I got asked to pull out a Ford once, they shifted into 4x4 but didn't lock the hubs. I locked in the hubs for the driver and the truck drove away easily!😂
When you lock the front hubs you are suppose to slowly reverse about a foot or so.THEN the hubs and clutch are engaged. Read the manual. Dude is gonna burn transmission clutch out.
Probably didn’t have the floor shifter and instead has the dial on the dash. I know someone that had issues with the solenoid sticking do to lack of use. Being in Florida how often do you need four wheel drive?
ok im going to be alittle more generous than everyone else and say we all have those moments where we brain fart..its happened to everyone of you here ....and like everything elese you just have to stop and think a minute before you begin and remember wtf youre doing and think it through first...if hes like everyone else he had his "omg what a dumbass i am" moment afterwards...dam when ya have alot of money brain farts can be expensive...I was picturing his boat truckand all backing completely into the lake...hahahaha

That guy did not know how to operate his truck. First, lock the rear differential so BOTH TIRES pull. Second, if that isn't enough, lock in the front axle so it pulls also. Your weight is over the front axle where the engine sits. This guy had no clue. He locked the hubs which is BAD. Those lock when he switches to 4WD on the dash. The manual locking is a backup only! I own one, and have towed far more up a steeper grade. The max towing on the 6.7L is around 44,000lbs, not 30,000lbs. This was operator error though, because his boat didn't weigh that much. Oh and he drove off with the hubs locked. This will DESTROY the front differential, 4WD engaged or not.
I have a very similar truck except mine is the gas version and my boat weighs about 5,000 lb more than his and I have been at an angle steeper than that at the boat ramp I never had this issue just put it in four-wheel drive and drive straight up
On the Big Ford it was only pulling on the right rear wheel. 4X4 was not engaged and that truck most likely has a rear diff lock that also wasn't used.
I just turn a dial in my 2023 Chevy 4x4,,,, I would easily yank that ship outta the water with zero wheel spin,,,,can’t believe that new ford has the tech of a 1977 Ford where you gotta still get out and lock the hubs! 🤯

I'm curious. Are military humvee's not typically allowed to be registered as road worthy? or just not in Florida? If you tell me they can't be "in Florida" then I might suggest they are from another state that allows it? Just conjecture on my part but curious about you rquestion.
@@brentbarnhart5827 I just havent done the work on it. I heard no military vehicles could be registered in florida and most states due to the emissions but then I heard that wv. north dakots, etc. allows it. I am trying nto work on it.
Makes me wonder if they are just putting on a show for the guys filming? Everyone knows people will react to a huge truck that can't get it done. If he knows how to lock the hubs, I'm sure he knows how to turn a knob and put it in 4X4.
Ignorant to physics. #1. Back the trailer far enough into deeper water to where you can bring the boat all the way to the 'stops' on the trailer. This will put the center of gravity over (or on AT LEAST) the axles on the trailer. The way they first attempt was done, the boat was too far back on the trailer, putting the center of gravity behind the trailer axles. This resulted in the trailer bcoming a fulcrum and it lifted the weight from the back wheels on the truck. This is very simple. Not hard to understand for most experienced trailering.
Here's what I see as the problem. Single wheel drive. The driver obviously never put the truck into 4wd so the front wheels did nothing. That truck is also equipped with an electronic locking rear differential that you engage by pressing a button on the dash. In order for that button to be available, the truck must be in 4wd Low range. It wasn't, so the results are the rear wheel that slips gets most of the torque. One wheel trying to drive that truck. Had it been properly engaged in 4wd Low with rear differential locked, it would probably have pulled that boat up the ramp like a Sherman tank, or at least without spinning any wheels. I think the driver was an idiot for not recognizing the problem. What does he do when he gets a flat tire? Continue to drive on it until he melts the wheels?
My man will have to change that back tire after one wheeling it so much😂 like dude just because you lock the hubs don't mean it's in four wheel there is a little switch that says 4 high and 4 low you have to also 😂

People need to know that wheelspin is not your friend. When you wheels start spinning, you have less traction than when they are not. This dork hammering on the throttle is just making it worse for him.
that truck would easily pull that boat out of the water if he put it in 4 low, it would have been smooth and steady, also he was not in 4 wheel drive when he finally got it out because there is no way the rears would be spinning and smoking and the fronts going slow
Try putting it in 4x4 mode

Watching the rear tires spinning and the front tires not doing shit is a pretty clear sign that it's not in four-wheel drive, or something's broken.

Dude should definitely find out how to put his truck in 4WD. Talk about having a skeleton crew.

The truck is fine. Imminently capable of pulling the boat out. The DRIVER is failing.
Just have a couple people jump in the bed, there isn't enough weight on the rear axle so the tire loses traction.
All those people you would think of explaining to the driver
It is so simple, the back of the truck is too light it needs to have weight in the back end which will give traction to the rear tires.
If it was a 2 wheel drive you are correct. Well, you are correct with a 4x4 but there is no reason for that, when you can put it in 4 wheel drive.
