    Just bought this after using and buying four Stanley's tool organization rolling carts. Really stoked about this new system! Looks rugged, with a steel axel straight through and no cheap plastic anywhere. If you're a pro...this is the way to go!

    Outstanding review, very professional. I was at Home Depot and came across these and all I could say is these things are awesome! I've been needing to replace my old tool box and this system is perfect for me. I spent a good 20 minutes in the store fooling around with them. Opening them, closing them, stacking two smalls and a large, small and a medium, just generally man handling them. Awesome! I ended up with one small and one medium. I may go back for the large wheeled one if needed. Superior to the Dewalt and Stanley systems I compared them too and at a great price.

    Got a really good deal. The small organizer was not available, as HD is offering it as a "FREE" add on if you buy the Large and Medium boxes for $98. The manager couldn't get the Small organizer out of the freight boxes, so he just gave me a Medium in place for free. So I got the Large $59, and two Medium $39 boxes, plus my military discount, total with taxes $95 and some change. Love these. I was using large Rubber Maid Roughneck containers for carrying my tools around, but now lugging them around, with wheels, will be so much easier. And good job on the video. I like your style man.

    Simple and strong is better in this case. I bought this system!👍 I found out that the best way to load it is on the bottom rolling tool box ,, put only your portable drill, battery, and charger and that's it , so it doesn't get too heavy for you in case you have to carry it up and downstairs,, then once you go up the stairs you can load the other boxes on top making those not too heavy either. Roll down the hall.

    These work great, I do beverage line cleaning, and only have to make one trip, when going in to clean. I did find out that on the pro organizer the lid stop can be popped out to let the lid become a small work table.

    Pretty affordable option for guys who have to travel to jobsites. For a diyer like me, I like the really useful boxes in the 17L size. They stack well, are clear and can be found fairly cheap.

    Thanks for the video. I have all the boxes in the system and didn't realize the bottom box had a organizer and that the one box the dividers can be removed. FYI, 2 more boxes has been added to the lineup. One is a milk crate and the other is an organizer with a clear see through top. Still none with drawers yet.

    One thing that is needed is a long tube or box for holding things like levels and straight edge/rulers. It can be problematic getting it to work with the system, but there should be a way. P.S. you have some of the best reviews on YT - not wasting anyones time trying to think of what to say on the fly or arduous "unboxing" junk.

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  6 років тому

      Thanks! Yeah I hate unboxing videos, you can't properly asses a new product simply from unboxing it. Not to mention boring and pointless as we all know there's stuff in there like wrapping, manuals, etc. A real review starts after the "unboxing" and only after a hands on approach.

    Hey I got the set plus a 2nd tool box. Anyways with the pro organiser you can remove the inner lid section to create even more room! Just use a glazing bar or a flat head screwdriver. Sad thing is you can't use your 6 little storage bins anymore but hey it all depends on on the intendedthe use. Great storage system!

    It would be even better if Rigid would come out with a simi,ar set to fit the variety of power tools they make. One could mix and match as they might choose tools for a job. Or even a series of them for a bunch of tools.

  • @jmjomar8
    @jmjomar8 9 років тому +1

    The rigid is four and half inches wider that the L-Box. I like both, but the rigid is less money, seems more durable and will hold a sawzall flat. I like the cart system of the Bosch. The Bosch will take up less room in your truck. I would chose the rigid for the garage. Hope this helps.

    I really like the metal side handles that lock the boxes together as well as the front metal clasps. Don't care much for the dewalt tin clasps. Recently looked at the Husky system. I really liked the small parts top box, but they don't seem to sell separate units. They all seem heavy and you would need a cart once they have tools in them.

  • @DarkRaptor99
    @DarkRaptor99 10 років тому +1

    I really like the Ridgid 22" modular system at the price point nothing even comes close Dewalt Tsaks and Bosch Lboxes still cost a decent amount. For around 150 dollars you have a pretty nice setup. The Tool Tube seems like s solution to a problem I can't find yet. It looks too bulky for most things. I need some time to figure out a use for that thing :)

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  10 років тому

      DarkRaptor99 I agree the price is great- very affordable especially for a penny pincher like me. I like the tool tube, it's good for someone that needs a regular to box, it's different and cool looking. I believe the biggest advantage is that the lid can be used for temporary storage when open

  • @paulauten1945
    @paulauten1945 9 років тому +1

    the small system is spill proof and the containers stay in place better than dewalt. my only wish is that the large system had a cut-out in the corners for holding power tools like the milwaukee does but other than that is an awesome set up at a third the price of dealt. dealt does get points for a 2 drawer system with ball bearings that i do have for my sockets and wrenches.

  • @recyclespinning9839
    @recyclespinning9839 7 років тому

    I bought this system , well made but was to heavy for me. I returned thanks to Home Depot return policy even though I had for a while were still barely used but a couple months hwaythem and just too heavy when filled!!! Thank u home depot for the exchange... I got the smallest husky rolling tool box , and the matching hand held husky carrier and found out the pockets gave you way better organization ,,and was able to split my tools into two tool holders and carry up stairs easier, then when u are up in your landing , just put one one top ofthe rolling tool box and off u go!!

    Owned mine about 8 months..its stored in my rolling tool box cargo trailer... the middle main tool box has kinda lost its shape causing the orange insulation strip to hang and not close tightly... I'm gonna cut a piece of scrap wood to put inside from front to back in the middle to see if it will retake its shape ...keep in mind my boxes have never really been on a job site, it stays in my trailer..the problem started before I stored it in my trailer, before that I carried and removed it from me truck daily, so its been well taken of ...thats the only problem I've had so fs r ...but maybe this can help some one.

  • @BTom16
    @BTom16 10 років тому

    These are a nice looking system. I'd like to know if the storage containers in the top Organizer are spill-proof when the box is closed. Will small items migrate from one bin to the next when a closed Organizer is upset? You didn't mention that but it's an important concern, given the box is obviously intended to be carried like a brief case with the contents being thrown around.

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  10 років тому +1

      Tom Brown hello Tom, you are correct the storage bins are spill proof from small solid objects if you have 3 on the left and 3 on the right with the 2 center dividers installed. You can put the storage bins in the center but the lid is recessed there so small items may spill out there

      @ToolCraze  10 років тому

      Mike Z welcome. I see how they could resemble the tough boxes a bit and the prices are great, probably why it was so hard to get a hold is these as they were sold out everywhere. I had to literally hunt stores to find them

  • @TheBearuk1
    @TheBearuk1 10 років тому +1

    wow Javier...these things are awesome!! I live in Canada and earlier this year Home Depot were selling the DeWalt Toughboxes for insane prices, by the time I found out and got up there they were sold out of all but the parts organizer ones so I bought all they had and got them for $6 each instead of $40!! I searched all the other Home Depots online and fond the same thing, all sold out! The store where I live has not stocked them since so I'm not sure if thats cause they had a falling out with DeWalt or they knew Ridgid were coming out with their own versions so were wanting to make way for them. I hope the latter is the case because I would love to invest in these, the DeWalt are fantastic but I don't like the fact that the cart to carry them is almost $200! The Ridgid inbuilt right in which makes a lot more sense, I will be keeping an eye out on my local store to se when they start stocking these! Thanks for bringing them to my attention Javier, loving the channel and the in-depth way you showcase everything you review....

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  10 років тому

      TheBearuk1 yeah the prices is what caught my eye on these and I thought exactly the same thing about the cart that at that low price it includes wheels to transport- others like you mentioned you have to buy them separately and some are just basic hand trucks. And yeah the dewalt cart is a serious product- it has a serious price. Very nice though and me like that dewalt cart haha. Those are some amazing deals on the dewalts tough boxes our home depot carry both lines the dewalt tough system and these new ridgids side by side. I would have bought all of them at those prices for $6!!!! I've been known to deplete entire stock when stores have amazing deals ha

    • @TheBearuk1
      @TheBearuk1 10 років тому

      yeah me too Javier, I bought all their stock of the small parts organizer boxes, the medium and large were going for around $10 and $15 respectively but they had none left...if they had I'd have bought every last one and the worst part was they were even selling the carts for $40!!! I totally missed the boat, and only got 3 of the small ones...lol

    Very nice review. Very reasonably priced. How do you think they would hold up if they were to be accidently dropped off the end of a truck's tailgate or fall down a set of stairs while loaded up with tools? Just curious since our friends at TIA did a similar test to a couple the competitor's boxes. The latches with the boxes they tested seemed to be the most vulnerable.

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  10 років тому +1

      Mike L. Thanks Mike. I like them so far- I haven't dropped them so I can't say how they'd hold up- not sure how high impact resin compares to structural foam. I paid for these myself so I can't afford to destroy them. If I were to receive samples I could possibly do drop tests

    These are $20 cheaper than the Milwaukee Packouts that are on sale right now... what I do not get is the Parent company is TTI - who makes Milwaukee-Rigid-Ryobi along with other brands...you would think they would discuss designs....I see some design elements here that I wish the Packouts had, like drop in separators and the locking toolbar...I see Ryobi has their's coming to America, and I am sure they will have some other features that all 3 should have...I do dig the big roundy one,. Be cool if they had a top that would fold out across it when opened for a work platform...thanks for the video,. I have the Tstak DeWalt and Packouts, but at this price point I may have to do some rigid boxes as well....

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  6 років тому

      I don't think TTI makes them. Not all Ridgid tools are made by TTI for instance Ridgid corded wet dry vacs are made by Emerson. These Ridgid tool boxes are probably made by Keter. toolcraze.net/keter-22-professional-tool-storage/

    Ridgid should make a second 25" tube toolbox model with a boombox built-in. 😂😂

    • @PatTheRiot
      @PatTheRiot 3 роки тому

      Bra, I never seen those boxes (guess they failed hard too as I just went to buy a stack system ridgid and never saw any shopping around lol) but I just had this idea clicking on the thumbnail. I thought they came up with a boombox version toolbox and I was like DAMMIT I NEED THIS lol. That would definitely be a best seller. Say put a small usb charge bank in there and space for extra m18 betteries hook outside. Boom, perfect caddy. Plays music, from your phone, while charging it wireless, carries extra batteries for tools, has good space for big caddy and is a shoulder strap. I want.

    Hey dude,
    Great review and excellent information...well put together.
    However...
    The 22" toolbox stack isn't new. The design was released in the UK under the brand name JCB, exclusive to B&Q, (a large DIY / Hardware chain).
    A few years later, they were rebranded under the name 'MAGNUSSON'.
    I have also seen them on 'eBay' under another name.
    All aspects, dimensions, particulars, etc are identical.
    BUT... as I said, great review and video and attention to detail.

      @ToolCraze  5 років тому

      Thanks. I made this video almost 5 years ago so I can't remember everything said here but I'm pretty sure I didn't say Ridgids modular tool box system was the first modular system ever since prior to theirs, Bosch and DeWalt already had some here in the USA. Also I'm pretty sure Keter is the one who makes these Ridgid tool boxes toolcraze.net/keter-22-professional-tool-storage/

  • @ytechie
    @ytechie 9 років тому

    Hey Javier! So I'm guessing the smallest organizer is the organizer you mentioned you like to use (in response to my comment on the Rockwell 3-speed impact video). Also, is the tube shape actually useful, or do you think it is kind of odd-shaped and weird?

    • @ToolCraze
      @ToolCraze  9 років тому +1

      +ytechie yup this is the one I mentioned. I use this one when I'm on the go and take the other ridgid boxes with me. I don't have the tube box anymore so I can't say with long term use in mind. It is odd that it's round. Odd as in different, it's usefulness is really up to the opinion of the user. I did like that the lid swings all the way back and touches the floor and can be used for temporary storage when it's open. I don't know about other people but when I work with tools, I have tools all over the place and it becomes a mess. The upper lid would be a good place to place them while I have them out and in use and before I finish the job and put everything away.

      regopit44 Ive used the tool tube for a few years. It's the best box I've ever used for working out of a truck. It would not be ideal for a van setup, but in a truck it's awesome. Never had it leak or spill and it stays put. It doesn't slide around or tip over.

    I realize this video is from 2014 and that this product has been on the market for a while. You have to mention the weight capacity. I believe the full stacking system has a capacity of less then 150 pounds and the telescoping handle is on par with luggage.
    Actually seeing this in the store made me pause.

      I ended up selling the three piece set and buying the $99 three piece DeWalt tough box set during black Friday a few years ago thinking it would be a nice upgrade but boy did I regret it. This Ridgid set is nice, only thing they need is a lot more selection and variety of boxes that fit their pro tool storage system, they are easily behind other brands when it comes to variety.
