Says much when the first time AFO's plan fails, he has a tantrum and goes quiet until Star is gone.
Didn't take him long to restart his self indulgent mastermind rants
The funniest part is that he doesent even try to refute her because with how he is he could easily pull whatever bs to counter her but he instead hypes himself upp to say that he didn't lose because well everyone who isn't him is beneath him so who care what they really think especially as they are dying. And well the plan didn't go 100% the way he wanted but of course even such a small slight against the demon lord is a horrible crime.
Shigaraki: "Am I Shigaraki? All For One? Or Tenko?"
Star: "One day, a hero will stop you."
Shigaraki: "A hero...?"
Tenko: "...Midoriya."
In 6x20 Hawks/Jeanist/Endeavor pondered on whether he feels anything close to emotion at all. Now an embodiment of self-sacrifice takes the form of a vision of death before him.
Star: "You came for my Quirk, only to get nerfed."
AFO: "My gamble... backfired?"
As short as her appearance was, Star is one of the most memorable characters in MHA for me. Her bait and switch was insanely brilliant. Her character was as noble as she presented. She's fantastic.
12:47 exactly lol, they already finished the first year but due to the current situation they can't be officially promoted
So glad to see you're back doing My Hero reactions 😊 your insight into scenes always interest me and as a manga reader knowing what incredible moments are coming in this final arc, I'm looking forward to seeing your reactions and what you have to say about them 😄
A lot of people think Star and Stripe is a wasted character. I don’t know how you could watch these two episodes and think that was a waste. I think her character beautifully serves the greater narrative of AFO v OFA. AFO is using fear to keep other countries from helping Japan, and Star, inspired by All Might, defies her own government and gives her life to help. “Meddling when you don’t need to is the essence of being a hero.” She’s so awesome.
Nicely said 😂
9:02 There it is... That little boy 😢 my god this last arc is gonna be so peak 🔥
Horikoshi has a knack for creating very short lived characters with a very lasting impact.
We NEEDED Star and Deku team up man. Even if it might have been too overpowered lol.
Very interesting to see the vestige of Tenko calling out to Midoriya
I like how what seems to be the vestige of young shigaraki deep within immediately thinks of Deku when hearing about the embodiment of heroism. Deep deep deep down, Shigaraki knows Deku is an outlier from the society he hates. Hes a true hero.
One of the most interesting things about MHA to me is... How do we all just know. So many different people and personalities, everyone feels it.
Somewhere deep down Shigaraki is a little kid looking for the real help that he never got.
All for one the waifu slayer strikes again: personally killed Nana and Star, blew upp Nagant putting her out of commision, because of his master plans he basically led to Midnights death and Miriko being brutalised.
Unpopular opinion: A lot of people hated how Stars and Stripes went out since we were just introduced to her and all really liked her so quickly but I liked how she went out because it both really set the tone that in this final war arc NOBODY is safe, and that her quirk was so strong it was borderline broken and probably would've taken a lot of attention away from Deku and our main cast.
The entire reason afo went after her was to avoid that broken quirk being with the main team
Yeah but I literally just wanted one more episode with her 😢 wanted to see her fight a little more
People didn't hate that she died. People hated that she was clearly just made on the spot to immediately die to be a plot device to stall shigaraki for an extra week. If she was introduced sooner in the background or maybe deku watching tv about the number 1 hero in america, then it would have been fine for her to die.
@@Gopal__S agreeeeed
@@Gopal__SNot the plot device speel again for the 1,000th time. Just because a YT made a video about Star being a " plot device" most follow along without even knowing what they're saying.
Interesting that All for One specifically accuses Star of "cheating". That sounds more like something Shigaraki would say.
Shows their similarities.
I was not expecting her to go out so soon. I was waiting for over a year to see her and learn what her quirk was and thought she was immediately cool from just one episode. But she lasted two episodes. I am actually happy because one of my minor criticisms of MHA is that very few characters actually die even when they should. Like Gran Tarino should have died when he was injured by Shigaraki. I love Gran Torino but robbing me of a death that I felt sad about was a shame.
Glad I get to be upset about Star and Stripes death.
Funny how the merge between Shigaraki and AFO was damaged on the outside and inside.
On the outside, the clothes that signify the merge was destroyed, while on the inside, their overlapped Vestiges have been mangled and twisted apart.
After her salute, her ashes made stars over the stripe-like waves, or you could see it as an allusion to “from sea (or C?) to shining sea” 🥹
Need the next episode immediately mannn been waiting for you specifically to see it for a while
12:51 they technically finished their first year, but since school in in a halt, they cant move onto their 2nd year
"The era of Cassie has begun" 💀💀💀💀💀💀
There definitely was a beginning
I highly recommend watching the 3 (soon to be 4) MHA movies. They don’t adapt the manga but Horikoshi treats them as canon and references them later
I've seen them!
@@AGoodwinTV oh great!
Star and stripes is the GOAT! 🐐💯🔥
0:24 very cool dream 😬
I’m dying from a comment you made that I can’t explain without spoilers, but 😂😂😂😂
Really curious
As you know, most quirks have limits, while some can wither work around theirs or train to reduce thoae limits/negative conditions of their quirks, Star couldn't, New Order's limit was Star buffiing herself up, no other limits bedide that one
We Are Here!!!
We need someone that can fight in 3d slaam fkn killed me 😂😂😂😂
The blood from Star's amazing sacrifice will keep the stripes red on our inspiring flag for many years to come. May she rest in peace, and may God bless America.

INVISIBLE GIRL ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING REALLY USEFUL WOOOOOOOOOOOO
ONLY TOOK HER UNTIL THE SEVENTH SEASON
😂 yup!
btw goodwin can you activate the subs even though it's the english dub ? sometimes it's hard to hear what the characters are saying especially when they're shouting
Sure I can do that going forward from episode 4
I feel like they wrote Star and Stripe in just to nerf Shigaraki somehow because Shigaraki had become an impossible villain to take down where him being defeated wouldn't make sense because he could've pulled out any kinda bs power out of his ass, but now when he doesn't use any bs powers, we have reason to go "Oh he doesn't have that anymore"
So much more could have been done with New Order and Cathleen Bate but she was just a deus ex machina
Except the only bs powers we know he has is regeneration, afo, and his strong body. None of those were taken. The problem with her destroying a random number if quirks is that it doesn't mean anything. The author can still pull out any quirk out if his ass and say it wasn't destroyed. And it wasn't necessary to say quirks were destroyed, because it could have just been that shigaraki didn't have those quirks stolen in the first place. This would have only really mattered if regeneration was destroyed.
@@Gopal__S Reflect was destroyed tho
@@LuminantLion Which isn't that relevant. It was the only named one destroyed here and it wouldn't matter against most people.
@@Gopal__S Yeah but it's an example of relevant quirks that were destroyed so there must be more
What if Shigaraki also had Search and this destroyed it? That could be very relevant later
@@LuminantLion Spoiler for the episodes that are already out.
Search would have been a good one, that's a fair point. Too bad it wasn't destroyed so that's irrelevant.
nice

@@AGoodwinTVvalid, Ight, can’t wait for the next episode 🤙
I never had much issue with the SaS battle. I remember having to remind people that no, the show won’t spend 6 seasons building up OFA to 100% control, stop at 45% for confirmation, (he’s likely 60-75% due to the month of going rogue and stockpiling nonstop) have a new character take over, all of us rise for the Star spangled banner, and just say America! F YEAH! And END THE SHOW. I knew SaS couldn’t keep her quirk with how broken she was and I knew AFS couldn’t keep it because it’s too broken. (I have her quirk at the #2 in the whole show. Behind AFO/OFA/Rewind which is a tie.) So it only made sense she would destroy her own quirk and I figured she would be like Oracle from Batman. No power, but supporting. Then I learned decay and AFO work at the same time and was VERY quickly put in my place. (I figured that because they share a vestige, it could only be decay OR AFO not both.)
My problem is that the conditions of AFS remain relatively unchanged. With next to no confirmation on the quirks he lost, he still has AFO’s collection and he can still use whatever whenever. And infinity minus infinity isn’t zero. It’s still infinity. In the ANIME they made it significantly more clear the damage she did and even show the clear core damage. There’s still the unknown amount of quirks considering the sheer vastness of his stockpile. We saw Garaki’s lab, the quirks were UNCOUNTABLE. They had AFO in custody for MONTHS and never found out how many quirks he had by the sheer quantity he’s stolen over 2 centuries. But we have a clear idea she DID leave an opening. And that satisfies my issue. That’s clear visible vestige damage.
And this episode much like America, had a big fireworks display WAY too late in the war with the declaration they did so much, saying they’re the hero, and everyone globally questions did they really do anything? Ahhhh America. Causing global nuclear issues forevermore.
What I DO have issues with is Bakugo. I have to address this moment because it’s a BIG crux of my interpretations. Yes it’s funny, but the damage is there. Not 5 episodes after apologizing Deku tries to say we’re all going to spar to help me complete OFA and Bakugo makes CLEAR he wants to harm Deku to such an extent that he knows he can hurt AFO. Guys I know you want to say but that doesn’t dictate if he cares or not, and you’re right. But that SERIOUSLY deflates his apology to IMMEDIATELY go back to this. And there’s a reason last time they trained like this, Tsu and Uraraka scolded him for hurting Deku repeatedly. (Season 6 Episode 9) And THOSE 2 have a much greater and clear level of care. And people are STILL offput with how Bakugo treats him. Accommodating his behavior doesn’t make him any less crappy to Deku specifically. Bakugo has improved A LOT, but until there’s a word that leaves his mouth on Deku’s position as he does that and cares to consider his response WHILE he’s worked up, that’s not much improvement between the 2. He doesn’t deserve such benefit of the doubt with EXCLUSIVELY Deku. He does EVERYWHERE else. Like him insulting him during Deku’s breakdown likely did more harm than his apology helped him considering the circumstances of the class fight didn’t help Deku feel safer as the 19 worked together barely keeping up with him and Deku HIMSELF feeling quite outmatched by the AFO’s. (And to top it off, Best Jeanist claims he could catch Deku COMPLETELY on his own to force him to stop.) That’s the problem they couldn’t address or prove to him and that’s why he kept leaving them. Uraraka addressed his CURRENT issues in how at the end of the day yes hes growing to be the all powerful force of OFA, but that by no means takes away he’s still a human being with the literal WORLD on his shoulders. And applying THAT much pressure on him will only make things worse. Deku would STILL be emotionless collapsed in the rain and possibly crying himself to sleep without her. Bakugo provided NO security to Deku or even peace of mind when he apologized for the bullying because that is a COMPLETELY different issue. That’s why there’s STILL developments to be had between the two and there’s more to recover. Deku’s absent forgiveness isn’t purposeless. I considered THIS scene when I was so critical of Bakugo’s apology because I KNEW how fast it reverts to “normal” behavior.
I know I’m sticking my neck out and I know people don’t think kindly of my interpretations of Bakugo. But let’s make this clear. I don’t hate Bakugo, I love him. His personality is amazing and I love the acceptance arc he goes on valuing people more and more. And accepting what he is and what he wants to find in what he can and can’t do. But Deku’s is SUCH a long one not just because he was Deku’s bully, but because he tried his hardest to devalue Deku as an existing PERSON. And even in their rematch in season 3 he accepts OFA, but not Deku. That’s why not a dang thing leaves his mouth that DOESN’T have to do with OFA regarding Deku, and anytime the conversation drifted to JUST Deku and not OFA or symbol talk, he still gets ticked at his mere existence. How he talks, how he acts. All of it. His conclusions from season 6 from Deku’s perspective CAME OUT OF THIN AIR. His sacrifice against AFS, the apology, he had NO IDEA Bakugo was giving it thought. And seeing one moment of genuine thought for his well-being simply doesn’t mean much when the NEXT THING HE DOES is try to hurt him again making it clear I’M DOING THIS FOR ME, and the rest of class is freaked out. Because THEY know more than Deku does how poorly he treats him. (In fact there’s VERY few moments someone DOESN’T try to intervene between the two and they’ve watched these two interact for over a year now)
This isn’t a knock on Bakugo’s arc, Deku is a very complex EXCEPTION to Bakugo’s development that he has to address completely separately from the rest of his character. None of this is poorly written it fits perfectly to how he’s designed. Bakugo can’t figure Deku out and accept him til he accepts himself. COMPLETELY. That’s what makes Iida and Uraraka his true friends because they know him for HIM. Not the responsibilities and logistics of the mission of OFA. And when they are made aware, it changes NOTHING to them because Deku is still the only thing they care about in all of it. He has to fight the devil? We will too. Bakugo isn’t a different kind of friend to Deku. It’s a WILDLY different circumstance and conclusions come at points that truly show not how much he cares, but how NEGATIVELY he’s seen Deku until now. And he’s STILL treating him like a punching bag!
And now I have to accept I’m going to get flamed hard for even thinking such blasphemy because Deku accommodates the bullying and treatment confusing it all. I stand by as of this point they are teammates that work well on the same team, but don’t personally get along next to at ALL.
I don't think (certainly hope) that you won't get flamed here 😂
I'm curious what specific thing makes it seem like Bakugo deliberately wants to hurt Deku? I'll have to rewatch it.
My own take on it is that Bakugo doesn't ACTUALLY want to do lasting damage to Deku but wants to compete with him at the highest level and has an immature, way over the top manner of expressing himself. I think looking at his actions as opposed to his inflammatory speech, he's ultimately a great support for Deku. There are many ways but maybe a non obvious one is just providing him with some normalcy and consistency. Personally, I can imagine feeling worried or burdened in the event that everyone changed their behavior around me to accommodate a negative episode I experienced. I'd rather they treat me as they always had
@@AGoodwinTVlet’s just say it was a precaution from how I was treated for my points in season 6 without the context of this scene. It…wasn’t pretty. I’ve had a few fun moments like that. MHA fandom is easy to predict but you REALLY gotta brace for impact sometimes. Thankfully I’ve been almost been entirely spared for this take.
So they have all essentially come to the conclusion the force of AFO has to die. He is WAY too dangerous to be left alive. Deku is on the fence of killing Shigaraki because of course he wants to be as pacifistic as possible. But it’s more a somber realism hanging over the circumstance if he doesn’t submit, there’s no CAPTURING. So when Bakugo says I want to test my cluster on OFA so I can confirm if it’ll work on AFO, that means his AIM is to break through Deku’s armor and cause him genuine harm. As that’s the only confirmation he will get if he can use his power on AFO or AFS who have largely ignored him. There is NO THOUGHT into what the end result would be where he’s satisfied and the fact the kids are so concerned just shows they know it’s a far bridge he’s giving himself leeway on…while attacking a kid who just recovered from a mental breakdown that they had to have a whole intervention for stopping him from running himself down to nothing. It’s been a day! He’s fine! I’m going to train like how I did in season 5 where I did the same thing.
It’s not that I don’t get that they have a rivalry and it’s not that he doesn’t care. But when the rivalry comes BEFORE the genuine well being of the literal ace of the operation…that goes to problematic
@@Kaempfdog now you just go and make up your own words to put into character mouth. Bakugo said he wanted to test his power against AFO and looked at Deku not because he wants to harm him. That's ridiculous. It's continuation of Bakugo in the beginning of season 6 saying that he will be the one to defeat AFO because he wants revenge against AFO for his kidnapping (he said it in the episodes Midoriya has to run away form their classmates). It's not about harming Izuku, it's about him in his round about way saying that he will be fighting alongside Deku and for Izuku not to slow down, because Bakugo would be glad to defeat AFO himself. I understand how someone can be biased against Kacchan because of how he expresses himself and how he was in the beginning. But this take completely ignores entire show full of character grown only to concentrate on long rooted biases and words that no one actually said. And I won't put any spoilers here for everything else, but just maybe rewatch the show when you have time and do it without preconceived notions about characters
They DID confirm he lost Quirks though. He literally mentions the reflect quirk being destroyed.
Love you Good
Thanks, love you too 😆
Someone please explain how she can use her quirk on her quirk (all explainations say she has to "physically touch" something. How does she physically touch a bioloical/genetic thing?), and why she wouldnt make "All for One" (the quirk) inefectual if she has the ability to change the rules of a quirk.
I can only assume she can touch herself to do it since I doubt she’s even away of the concept of vestiges. It probably wouldn’t work on AFO or any of his quirks because of a few reasons. For one, she doesn’t know the names of all his quirks, it might not work on the AFO quirk for the same reason she can’t put a rule of his body itself, or because of him having multiple quirks and not just one she can single out and put a rule on. Regardless, it wouldn’t be a good rule to make because her quirk was still stolen anyway.
A person has their own rules for themselves, no need to speak it. Not to mention it's a Quirk that the public doesn't know the full function of.
Star had no idea of whether Shigaraki had the AFO Quirk or not, so better to set it to target any Quirk it encounters in case.
Same way she’s able to reinforce herself. Think of it like the genetic information of her quirk is always being touched by herself since it’s in her own body. That being said, quirks aren’t purely just genetic material as we see with one for all, they have some sort of consciousness or part of the user in them. Star is able to use it on New Order since it’s her consciousness inside, but with the all for one quirk it would be the weird fusion of shigi and afo which it’s been established she doesn’t have a name to call that works.
She WANTED him to take New Order. She CHOSE to do that. And there’s no point she’s NOT touching her own DNA. Which contains her quirk factor/vestige. Not to mention when AFS grabs her, he touches her, but she is also touching him. And AFS speculated she can possibly chain her effect but can’t do it to as big of effect. And if that was needed for this order to work, that would be a different reason she decayed. There’s a lot that goes into it and AFO and New Order are both immensely complex
@@Kaempfdog i think she technically does touch her dna, it’s never stated that she has to touch something with her hand or fingers to activate it like shigaraki. When she tries to stop his heart she says she fulfilled the conditions when she hits shigaraki into the plane so her condition of touch is different than shigaraki’s. She also doesn’t touch herself when she makes the rule to not decay, so it seems pretty fair to assume she does the same with her quirk since it’s a part of her.
I hate what they did with star, it didn’t make sense to introduce a character and kill bet off like this. It wasn’t even a sad death, just disappointing, unsatisfying, and anticlimactic
really weird change in the english dub they made to make it sound.. idk i guess more "badass?" but its kinda lame to me but whatever. "New Order will rage against any other Quirk it encounters" makes no sense, how does that work as a rule? 'rage against' is so broad and vague. it's "New Order will oppose other Quirks". otherwise, the person he tried to take a Quirk from wouldn't have unconsciously rejected having their Quirk be rejected New Order, therefore rejecting being absorbed by All For One.
dub company stop changing lines please lol
another annoying but more minor change is that those randos said "A hero!? no.. a Shinigami?!?!" when Shiggy broke in, because.. well I dont need to explain it, he does look like a textbook Shinigami haha
No no, you were right,, they completely wasted this character purely to scale Shigaraki and hand-wave the global aspects of the story from here on. The writing here is as dumb as it seems.
