@@tajaemartin2251 Honestly, considering thats what her character amounts to, they executed the situation as best as they could. I'd say that its pretty well-done if most of the viewers get actually sad at a character dying even if they've only known them for an episode or 2.

Thrilling development where villian is winning in jjk. Trash plot armor for villian. Plot where heroes win. Trash fairy tail power of friendship. I’d get if it was fleshed out but even if something is heavily foreshadowed people call it bad asspll cause say someone used their power to not lose a fight where if they lost the series would end anticlimaxly. Just weird hot takes all around where I’m like if the story was written they way you want it wouldn’t sell well lol. Wonder what the perfect story for those types of people is. Like would lord of the rings end with the birds flying to the mountain tossing the ring back and forth then shot down by 10,000 arrows from the orchs. And then they’d say it’s good cause no plot armor. 😂
Star really showed up, smashed the villains and then left. Never in my life have I been so devastated to see someone I’ve seen for only two episodes die. But y’know what? She went out like a total champ!
Though she felt a little wasted, you can't deny she fought an amazing battle and had a great send-off leaving Shigaraki with enormous battle scars. There will be no one like her again🫡
Besides, she if she stuck around they risked her taking the spotlight away from the main cast.

You all miss the point. The point is that the author is uping the stakes. One of the big criticisms of MHA was that no one ever dies, so there is little consequence. No people, big and important people, are starting to die and it just shows how serious the situation is. It sucks, but thats how you right a good story, some of the good guys have to die.

You're right, she had so much potential. Now she's gone. Enjoy the pain us manga readers had to sit through. But she did serve multiple plot purposes so hori used her really well. Her death makes sense in the grand scheme
I believe Rengoku and Star and Stripe got a similar treatment. Both very charismatic and powerful characters that make a short appearance going toe to toe with one of the strongest in their respective series, inevitably losing but sending a message to the rest of their allies that it’s a winnable fight.

All My Hero fans were frustrated with Star's death, the author didn't imagine that the public would like her so much, it's really frustrating !
Trust me when I say us manga readers felt the same way she was gone way too soon
A fight she had no chance of winning without a name and went out destroying him from within, giving them time and more preparations to tackle shiggy while also triggering something inside him that was locked away for a long time.

Man MHA got us feeling like we got All Might 2.0 and literally deleted her on the second episode. I really liked the different dynamic she brought to the show, I honestly feel like we needed more of her given the hype we got around her from the end of last season GUTTED
She did the most damage to shigaraki than anyone so far. we are underestimating it, She definitely nerfed All for one by ALOT. In two episode she did more than all other 6 seasons combined! She was written and represented America as a hero very well. God Bless America and RIP Stars and Stripes, Cathlene Bates!

It may not seem like much at first, but what Star did had a rather significant impact on things.
However her biggest impact won’t become apparent until season 8.

I really wanted to see character interactions between Star and the rest of Japan's heroes like All Might, Endeavor, Deku, Dynamight, etc. I feel like it would've been really cool to see them fight alongside each other.
Seeing what you said as related to enjoying the symbolic vibes of All Might, I think there's something you will enjoy later on in the season.

Hey it's was great first 2 episodes to show off stars and stripes plus already showing off crazy animations for her was nicely so far. But yea it's sucks that she died cause most ppl wanted to see more screen time for her is definitely deverse and AFO losing his quirks by her was insane and great.

The show is alright and enjoyable but not a favorite in my opinion but rengoku definitely became one of my favorite anime characters in general.

She served her purpose/did more damage to shigaraki than ANY OTHER hero In only 2 episodes. On her terms: she won. We cant be mad at that. At all.
She was saying that the rule she put on her quirk included her own quirk. So after she fought against and destroyed so many of his quirks New Order basically either destroyed itself or withered away due to fighting all of the other quirks basically.
I personally knew she would die because my boyfriend got me the manga for this season for Christmas last year and I didn’t know it was the next season back then yet. But the fact that she managed not only to destroy a lot of quirks in shigaraki, but she also managed to basically deny him her quirk at the same time, is crazy. She basically did more damage to him than anyone actually managed to in the war back in season 6. Yes deku really messed him up by the end, but he only physically weakened him, star managed to hurt him on every damn levels. To me she’s the winner here.

i agree with wanting a little more of star and stripe like maybe another battle before shigaraki or something but i disagree with your take on all might cause thats literally one of the biggest problems DC always had with superman cause he is just to op. they always had to come up with something why superman cant help or why he isnt there and it would be the same with all might
im hoping to see deku become that embodiment of hope and that always smiling attitude
By the way Mel, that's why Star said 'Idiot' 10:36 to AFO when he went to transfer the quirk. She basically said that the backlash of New Order rampaging against the other quirks lead to it's own destruction. New Order is now Completely gone, destroyed. That's also why AFO came back by saying the one that survives wins, because otherwise he definitely took an L.
New Order is gone after it fought the other quirks inside AFO because they were too many. ShigAFO didn't get the chance to transfer it to anyone.
Manga readers HATED the way he killed her off so quick too.
The part where shigaraki tries to transfer New Order gave me goosebumps. It reminds me of the scene in HxH where Netero blew up Meruem

All for one said it so many times it’s not that surprising given the conclusion of the fight. All for one NEVER gambles. He is allways one or two steps ahead. So when he has no choice but to gamble, he wouldn’t be surprised if he lost against star. That’s what a gamble is. Writing wise it makes sense that shigarki would not lose, but with the time they had left before all for one took over tomura it made sense that he would be weakened. Considering the fact that the only way for shigaraki to be able to steal a quirk is to touch someone with his hand, of course they would die at the same time. This was the only conclusion that made the most sense.

I knew that this was gonna happen from the moment I saw Shigaraki arrive, that's why I didn't wanna watch this episode, Shigaraki has plot armor, no one can beat him only Deku, we all know that, he is literally the final boss, no one is supposed to beat him, he's supposed to be stronger than everyone, and this will keep happening to everyone that Shigaraki faces, like I said only Deku can break his plot armor

@@wkadalie but shigaraki was never a villain with extremely high intelligence, he was average or slightly above average, yet all of a sudden in the last 2 seasons , he is making 200 iq plays.
shigaraki couldn't give a new order to the random criminal. Remember... new order power is limitless to no living objects, but when it comes to living beings like herself, it is limited based on the person's own strength, so she was able to oppose other quirks, but not forever. The number of quirks that AFO has on him was just too much for the Star's vestige to fully destroy. Thus, the rule was worn out.
MHA is trying to teach you not to put a your hopes and dreams into one man/woman.
Superman/All Might/Star cant save every alone or be everywhere all the time.
When they are not there people like Shiggy, Toga and Dabi are born.
it take a team/community of people who want to save and help everyone to reach out.
Makes sense that star had to die. If her and deku would have met up then that would be the end of the story tbh she could just make a rule that 100% one for all would have zero effect on dekus body and it’s over
you know its pretty sad that she promised to bring her crews' bodies back to their families if they die so that they could fight without reserve but nobody is gonna be able to bring her body back home.
Its good story writing...if she is alive and fighting with deku, the manga would be over within a few chapters.

Star had to die. From the moment she was introduced she had to. Cause what is she doing past this point? Whose narrative is she gonna steal and whose role is she gonna take over in the coming story if she survived? We gonna throw Deku away and his narrative connection to the main antagnist to give it to Star? Nah. She came in she fulfilled her role. She was awesome and well written and she went out with a bang

i felt the same way man when reading the Manga , i liked the character so much , i wanted her to interact with Deku and the Main cast , meet with all might again , play a huge role in the future , but sadly she was up against Shigaraki in a 1v1 with no one involved (main cast) , obviously she would lose.
I personally didn’t like this mini arc much.
1)It barely matters narratively speaking because we don’t know what AFO’s quirk list is. Since there’s no transparency about his power set, the writer can always add any random OP quirk combo he wants (AKA ass pulls). So her sacrifice was just that. She “bought time” i guess. Not that matters in a shonen where characters can train off-screen.
2) NWO makes little sense and breaks its own rules. I know quirks get more and more abstract as the series goes on but it’s a little much with NWO. She said it’s 2 rules at all times and one always on herself yet she has scenes where she is very obviously using 3-4 rules simultaneously. But rule of cool, I guess (it does look cool).
3) Star was a plain hand wave plot point to have an excuse as to why other countries don’t send heroes to Japan, which fans bothered the author about for years. It’s feels very disposable and a bit forced which is a problem the series will have going forward where the author just seems to be desperate to fill all plot holes and tie up character arcs but doesn’t quite earn it.
These are just opinions, it’s ok to think this is peak, so chill lol

i think star's death was a perfect death for her . the way she died was gangstar though i will agree that they could have maybe done this fight later in the arc and showed her more it would have been perfect.

Am I the only one who actually liked the way they handled this. People saying it’s a wasted character, sure, but she was there for two episodes…and her character staying in the story would have actually taken away from the importance of everyone else. Even though she was only created to make Tomura weaker, this sequence did 3 things: 1) made Tomura weaker (temporarily), 2) reinforced the idea that Tomura and OFA were a serious threat to the world by taking out the US’s number 1 hero, and 3) created a legitimate reason for not having heroes from other countries interfering with the rest of the story. People crap on the author for his decisions but whether they are bad decisions or not, at least they are done in an extremely unique fashion that have impacts (large or small) to the story.
i totally agree, that's how consumers are usually, yapping about a thing and then enjoying a future event that wouldn't exist without losing the event they were yapping about. there is something else the majority of the viewers missed, when Shigaraki said "Midoriya" but with his "little kid" voice, this will have a very interesting meaning later on.
How she lost was pretty bad, in my opinion. Shigaraki's plot armor was so blatant. They weren't even in the fight; it was so one-sided for Stripes, and then she lost because she saved her one crew guy and how Shigaraki managed to survive the blast was such an asspull.

Its nearly impossible to predict that star & stripe was going to die based on how she was introduced end of last season.. it’s literally the same with rengoku in demon slayer.. and thats called godly writing.. I honestly think Horikoshi did marvel with her. As the number one of America, she did not disappoint. Had Shigaraki not been mentally unstable, she would have DESTROYED him. And I honestly dont see many character in the show who could have fought her. She also was VERY lovable in a matters of chapters, and how her crew loved her it ws obvious she was goated. She also denied Shigaraki her quirk, showing incredible understanding of her own potential and risk to the world. Shigaraki gambled to steal her quirk, and the result is clear : he lost time and power in the process. Yes she wont be a threat anymore, but whatever happens next, its only possible because of her sacrifice. She weakened him more than anyone ever did.
She always felt like the time All might had given her was a gift. She had the ultimate hero moment. And was really toying with Shigaraki the whole time. Not sure why people are upset....heroes don't live forever.

She played a major part....if she hadn't stopped him now it would have been over for everyone. Just like how All Might sacrificed his power in his last fight. If she stayed in the show, she would be a distraction.....this is about how Deku became no1. And she seemed more like All might than Deku did.
After shigaraki absorbed new order why dont shigaraki change the rules of new order that dont oppose the other quirks.

also new order is gone completely because since the other quirks were attacking new order as she was destroying other quirks it got damaged and so it disappeared so it’s gone completely
