    Thanks for letting us know that you can't use EV30 and FS6 together on the GT1B. I almost bought the FS6 without knowing they can't be combined!

    Thanks for making this video, I got the unit a few days and I'm still struggling with some stuff. I really follow you on the idea of having a basic sound and adding some temporary effects.. and this video helped me a lot thanks... I have to admit some of those pre sets are not that amazing yet others are just a delight considering the price and this newly taught trick of you... I'm still happy ... yet i'm still figuring out if I want to use it as a stand alone or as an addition to my pedalboard :)

    I just bought a GT-1B and thanks for the video. Yes,a firmware update would be nice to have. I have a FS6 that I want to fully utilize as well. Don't have an external expression pedal yet.

    I'm old school with a Boss ME-50B. I have almost always kept it in stomp box mode with one of the compressor settings always on. Octave, either synth or drive, and chorus, plus I love having a volume pedal. I keep waiting for a new improved model but the GT1B never seemed like what I really wanted. If MXR ever came out with a multi effects for bass with an expression pedal I would be all over that. But I've been loyal to Boss for years.

    Thanks, that's good to know and of course it also applies to my GT-1 as well as my GT-1B so it's useful on that too

    I tried using FS5-U on both modes U or L and it works great using only a Y-cable without any power supply or battery needed.

    I added a Lead Foot FS-2 from Thomann to mine. €12.40. Somewhat cheaper than the Boss foot switch. An inexpensive way to get two additional stomp controls.

    can you make a video about how to assign sounds to foot pedals. How can we turn it into a stompbox?

  • @rafito1280
    @rafito1280 4 роки тому

    You can assign the Exp pedal with the wah. Just plug it with a trs and select the WH/PB setting.

    • @drumlord29

      I must be missing something because I've tried my Ev30 on the GT1B with a TRS cable and all I got is volume control. EXP1 can be assigned as wah but EXP2 cannot. Since there's no switch on the pedal, I use CTL1 to turn on/off the wah on EXP1 and my EV30 (assigned to EXP2) handles volume. Can you make a video on how you use the EV30 as the wah pedal?

    With the time studio, can you use a full eq? I just got the pedal and it seems that there is only low and high.

    I have just bought one of these and my question is if you are saving user presets can you assign 1 fx to each of the 3 buttons or is control 1 button the one assignable and have them stompable ie on of toggle for all 3 buttons? Ps Anyone know how many user presets you can have and how many fx you can chain at once? cheers

    I cannot find ONE video where someone tries to push the expression pedal to its limits - especially for synth sounds. I have no idea if I should buy it. No one says if it does a good job. As if it were not there.
    I'd love to have a Source Audio Manta Filter or Pro Envelope Filter but they are not produced anymore. Does anyone have any Idea? I want to start an electronics and brass project.

      Ive just bought one and all the sound are great if you set them well. Im also interested in exprssion for swells on synth as it works well on me ME 50b but i thought id upgrade. Ps i have A C4 synth pedal by source audio which is absolutely amazing . check them out .

    Question. I just picked this unit up but having an issue finding how you can bypass the unit. Basically just want this to add effects to my amp sound, not use the preamp settings for the most part. Is there a way to just set up my effects to patches but set one of the buttons to bypass the unit when not needed so I can just have me external amp sound? Thanks

    • @Milesinstruments75
      @Milesinstruments75 6 років тому

      I have this unit and so far have had difficulty being satisfied with its gig usability. For the moment, I'm going straight into a Fender Rumble 200 amp and taking the send out, and running that into the Boss input. From there, the FX'd OUTsignal goes to the PA or a second amp. Most of the presets have the built in pedal set to volume and not much use. But in this configuration it works as an expensive wet/dry pedal! Setting up presets with descriptive names like chorus or distortion are incremented with the up down ft switches. It is a stupid set up but it kind of works. Paying $60 for 2 switches seems so ridiculous, Id rather bi amp the effects and have a HUGE sound field as a trade off.

    Hi! Thanks for the video. You said it is possible to assign first 2 bottoms for some effects (not banks) but did not show it. So, is it possible or not? Thanks. \m/

      ART band yes, I have the same question, is it possible to assign the first two controllers to specific effects?

    • @artband5261
      @artband5261 7 років тому

      Hi, the problem is solved, It is possible - push EDIT, then in the end of the line you will see "down" and "up" buttoms - You can assign main effects to them (like FX1, OD, etc) like CTRL1. But in this way you will not be able to change banks using these buttons. Peace.

    • @davidotoole8170
      @davidotoole8170 6 років тому

      There are two issues with this - one is, as stated, you lose the ability to scroll thru patches with your foot when playing live or on the fly; the other is you can only assign each parameter buttons (fx1/limiter, OD/DS, Preamp, etc) to switch on and off so you aren’t able to turn on, say, three modulation effects per patch. In other words you can’t create fx3.
      I bought the FS-6 to expand my GT-1B’s capabilities, and it works well. I’m still deciding whether I use the Up + CTL1 to turn the delay, the reverb or the Wah on/off. If I could I’d use it to create and control fx3, but alas...

      @adamlewismusic13  7 років тому +1

      Thiago Marinho this a tough question. I like both but honestly, I would lean a little more to the b3n.

      adamlewismusic13 Thanks for the reply, my friend ... But why zoom is better in your opinion? Can you list some reasons and differences that let you zoom on top?

    • @d0dg3st4r
      @d0dg3st4r 7 років тому

      I have the Zoom and am about to get the Boss. Assuming the Boss sounds are equally as good, I would go for the Boss because it has a Wah, volume pedal, and looper on tap, while on the Zoom you have to A buy an expression, B use a slot each for any of those functions.
      You do get a drum machine with the Zoom though, but you get an audio interface with the Boss, so it's a case of weighing it up.

      Boss. I use a Line 6 HD Pod350 as my number one multi effects unit and I have the Boss GT-1B in one of my gig bags for a backup. The Zoom is garbage made by Sampson and I was really only to find a couple of useful effects for live situations and the Boss has everything you need (after spending a lot of time working on my own patches and editing about a dozen user presets) and it’s really a much better unit in every way possible. Higher quality components, much better and more useable effects (after editing) the software, the ability to edit and change the parameters of the effects is a lot better as well as the customer support (if you do have any issues), the unit itself is made with much more quality and the display screen, however small, is much better (usually the first thing to go on the ZooyB3n). I can honestly say that I would have to spend a considerable amount more to replace the Boss with the only thing on the market (Pod HD500 $399+) that is capable of doing as much. I would definitely recommend the Line 6 to anyone that has the scratch to afford it or to any professional musician who needs an effects unit for gigging as it’s just a lot better for live settings and more easily controlled from the floor. I don’t appreciate the diminutive size of the Boss and lack of ability to be controlled on the fly due to the fact of its small footprint and lack of buttons to choose between effects and use of more than a few effects at a time. Those are really the only downsides or complaints I have the regarding the Boss GT-1B and I can deal with it for the price 👌

    The a-3 b-2 is fucking annoying. If you use an insert cable you can switch which is which, no software setting I can find
